UFC 313 news: Jalin Turner set to face Ignacio Bahamondes in Las Vegas

USA Today16-02-2025
The UFC 313 lineup just got better with the addition of an exciting matchup between Jalin Turner and Ignacio Bahamondes.
The lightweight bout between thrilling finishers aids in stacking up the March 8 pay-per-view event, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC made the booking official during Saturday's UFC Fight Night 251 broadcast; it first was reported by UFC broadcast partner ESPN Deportes.
Turner (14-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC) will look to get back on the winning track following a second-round loss to Renato Moicano at UFC 300. Before that fight, Turner made quick work of Bobby Green in a violent first-round finish. A victory for 'The Tarantula' here would help ease the sting of a recent 1-3 run.
Bahamondes (16-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) comes in as a winner of back-to-back Performance of the Night-earning fights. 'La Jaula' scored first-round finishes of Christos Giagos at UFC Fight Night 240 and Manuel Torres at UFC 306 to take home his career's second and third bonus.
With the addition, the current UFC 313 lineup includes:
Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev
Justin Gaethje vs. Dan Hooker
Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev
Bruno Silva vs. Joshua Van
King Green vs. Mauricio Ruffy
Iasmin Lucindo vs. Amanda Lemos
Brunno Ferreira vs. Armen Petrosyan
Chris Gutierrez vs. Jean Matsumoto
Francis Marshall vs. Mairon Santos
Carlos Leal vs. Alex Morono
Ozzy Diaz vs. Djorden Santos
Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Jalin Turner

DWCS 78 video: Louis Lee Scott breaks down Kaushik Saikumar for TKO

Down it goes for Louis Lee Scott!!! 💪He gets the stoppage late in round three!📺📱💻 Watch #DWCS LIVE on @UFCFightPass Louis Lee Scott delivered a high-output showing against Kaushik Saikumar at Dana White's Contender Series 78, but a weight miss might hinder his chances at a UFC contract. After coming into the bantamweight bout half a pound over the contracted limit, Lee Scott (10-0) put on a performance against Saikumar (5-1) on Tuesday at the UFC Apex that ended in a third-round TKO. Lee Scott put pressure from the outset against Saikumar, who was fishing for leg submissions as a training partner of Ryan Hall. He couldn't get it, though, and as he stayed on the feet with Lee Scott, was eventually melted into a finish. Check out the replay of the finish below (via X): After the fight, Lee Scott explained what he said to UFC CEO Dana White through the cage and was apologetic for missing weight. "I said sorry about the half-a-pound," Lee Scott said in his post-fight interview with Heidi Androl. "I got sick cutting weight. Things happen. I've never missed weight before and it will never happen again. I still managed to put on a relatively good performance."
