How former LSU baseball outfielder Paxton Kling fared with Penn State in 2025
Former LSU outfielder Paxton Kling turned in a stellar week at the Big Ten Tournament with Penn State to cap off his junior season.
Through three games, Kling went seven for nine at the plate with two doubles as the Nittany Lions made a run to the semifinals for the second-straight season. Under second-year head coach Mike Gambino, Kling carved out a crucial role.
The every day center fielder, Kling occupies the second spot in the lineup. Ninth-seeded Penn State upset Washington and USC to set up a rematch of last year's championship game against Nebraska. The Nittany Lions ultimately suffered a 6-3 loss.
Kling commanded the outfield defensively but his best play of the tournament came on the base paths against the Huskies. He scored from second base on a sacrifice fly to center field to give Penn State a 3-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning.
Through two seasons at LSU, Kling made 118 appearances with 61 starts. He batted .250 with 54 hits and a .402 on-base percentage. As a freshman in 2023, he was a part of the Tigers' national team championship team.

Penn State adds Friday night commitment from 3-star cornerback

Penn State adds Friday night commitment from 3-star cornerback Penn State kicked off the weekend with another class of 2026 commitment. On Friday evening, the Nittany Lions landed a pledge from 3-star cornerback Amauri Polydor, who becomes the 19th member of the class. Polydor is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds and recorded 40 tackles and seven pass breakups last season as a junior. Polydor attends Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, where he ranks as the No. 22 recruit in the state of Maryland per the 247Sports composite. He's also listed as the No. 88 cornerback and No. 1,049 overall recruit in the cycle. He received interest from several power conference programs, scheduling visits to Penn State and Maryland. Polydor is in Happy Valley this weekend, and it's unclear whether he still intends to visit the Terrapins next weekend. With his commitment, Penn State's 2026 class remained at the No. 5 spot nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind No. 1 USC and No. 4 Ohio State.

Daniel Dickinson on how LSU baseball can avoid the mistakes of last weekend

Daniel Dickinson on how LSU baseball can avoid the mistakes of last weekend Heading into its super regional matchup with West Virginia, LSU baseball is thankful to still be alive in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Tigers were nearly eliminated by Little Rock and infielder Daniel Dickinson acknowledges the team may have overlooked the sub .500 Trojans who won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship. "Coming from a mid-major school, I kind of knew that they would be ready to fight," Dickinson said. "I didn't really understand how much they were going to fight like they did." LSU came away with a shutout win in the Baton Rouge Regional opener but Little Rock evened the score with a Sunday victory to force a championship game. The Trojans took an early lead inside Alex Box Stadium, forcing the Tigers to complete a comeback victory. With a new perspective and a trip to Omaha on the line, Dickinson and his teammates know to putt heir best foot forward to keep the 2025 season going. "As we learned last weekend, every team is ready to play and they want to win," Dickinson said. "We can't over look that and we know West Virginia is going to come ready to play."
