said on Sunday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fandavis' article, with facts and figures to refute Gandhi's claims, was published in Indian Express and Marathi daily Loksatta during the day. Earlier, top BJP leaders, including party chief JP Nadda, had slammed Gandhi for casting aspersions on the country's electoral process.
"BJP leaders are replying on behalf of the Election Commission, which is concerning. It only confirms that match-fixing did take place. Rahul Gandhi, in his detailed article, has exposed how the Maharashtra assembly elections were marred by fraud, manipulation, and a systematic violation of the people's mandate amounting to a brutal assault on democracy," Chennithala said in a statement.

The ECI must respond to serious questions raised by Gandhi, who has exposed a "disturbing truth", Chennithala said while asserting the happenings related to the state polls were not accidental but a meticulously-planned operation.
"Maharashtra, once a beacon of democratic values, is now witnessing a deep erosion of those values. The Congress has been consistently following up with the Election Commission, but so far, the responses have been superficial and unsatisfactory," the AICC in-charge for the state said.

Chennithala said when the Chandigarh High Court ordered release of CCTV footage in connection with the Haryana assembly polls, the Union government, with help from the EC, changed the rules and blocked that information.
"Why was that done? And for whose benefit?" he asked.
The Maharashtra polls involved manipulation in the voter list, large-scale bogus voting and artificial inflation of vote percentages, Chennithala alleged.
"In the Lok Sabha election, Congress and its allies won a sweeping mandate. Then how could the outcome reverse so drastically within just five months? This reeks of electoral fraud," he said.
The refusal to conduct a mock drill in Markadwadi (where some people sought a repoll after alleging EVM manipulation) itself is a sign that something was being hidden, he added.
The BJP and EC are trying to hide the truth but the Congress will pursue it relentlessly till democratic integrity is restored, Chennithala asserted.

"Only then we can face the elections (as a united party)", he added. On Mr Amit Shah's declaration in his address at the BJP Party workers meeting in Madurai that "the change starts from 'corrupt' ruling DMK will be ousted and the BJP-AIADMK led NDA will form the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026", the PMK Founder, who had earlier seemed to be disinclined to have an electoral tie up with the saffron party that widened the differences with his son, said "he (Amit Shah) is right in his remarks that the NDA will form the government in 2026 in Tamil Nadu". This remark of Dr Ramadoss can be seen as a significant shift in his stand, while hinting that the PMK was ready for returning back to the NDA fold. G. Vivek, continuing his father's legacy
HYDERABAD The younger son of prominent Congress leader and former Union Minister Gaddam Venkatswamy, popularly known as 'Kaka', Vivek Venkatswamy was elected from the Chennur (SC) Assembly constituency in Mancherial district as a Congress candidate in 2023. He studied in Hyderabad Public School and did his MBBS at Osmania Medical College. Mr. Vivek's political career began with victory in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Peddapalli. During his term in the 15th Lok Sabha (2009–2014), he served in Parliamentary Standing Committees on Coal and Steel. He later served as Adviser to the Government of Telangana on Inter-State Relations. A committed activist during the statehood movement, Mr. Vivek leveraged his position as an MP to advocate for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He played a key role in mobilising Congress MPs in support of the demand, thereby contributing to the creation of Telangana. Before re-joining Congress in 2023, he was associated with BRS and BJP. His son, Vamshi Krishna, also joined the Congress and won from the Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency in 2024. Mr. Vivek's wife, G. Saroja, has also been involved in public affairs. Parents Of Stampede Victim, 24, Break Down While Accepting Compensation
Four days after a deadly stampede in Bengaluru, a family in Karnataka's Kolar was handed a financial compensation for the damage that cannot be compensated - the loss of their 24-year-old daughter. Kolar deputy commissioner MR Ravi visited the home of Sahana, one of the 11 people who died in the June 4 stampede that occurred in front of the Chinnaswamy stadium during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team's IPL victory celebrations. Forty-seven were injured in the tragedy. Her mother broke down as she was offered the cheque of Rs 25 lakh compensation by the officer. Sahana's father, who was trying to hold back his tears, burst out crying as soon as he touched the cheque. As other family members comforted them, the parents were seen weeping uncontrollably. All the victims of the stampede were in the 20-30 years age group with a 14-year-old being the youngest - Divyanshi (14), Doresha (32), Bhoomik (20), Sahana (24), Akshata (27), Manoj (33), Shravan (20), Devi (29), Shivalinga (17) and Chinmayi (19) and Prajwal (20). Earlier, the Karnataka government had announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each, which was later increased to Rs 25 lakh per family. The opposition BJP has been criticising the Congress government in the state, accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar of "apathy". "The police had informed them of the first death by noon. Eight young ones had already died when the event began, yet the programme continued, showing that these leaders have hearts of stone," said Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly R Ashoka. The tragedy has also led to a blame game with the state government suspending police officers, and cops saying that they had flagged concerns about the event. Several officials, including Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, have been suspended for alleged laxity that led to the stampede. Four people, including an RCB marketing head, have been arrested so far. A letter accessed by NDTV established that the police force deployed at the Karnataka Vidhana Soudha had warned against the idea of holding the RCB's IPL trophy celebrations at the grand stairs of the premises. In a letter to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on June 4, Vidhana Soudha's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) MN Karibasavana Gowda pointed out the lack of time for security preparedness to tackle "lakhs of cricket fans" expected at the spot. R Ashoka slammed the government for going on with celebrations both at Vidhana Soudha and the stadium thereafter, despite deaths due to a stampede, and called the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister "inhuman". On Saturday, top senior officials of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer ES Jairam, tendered their resignations, taking "moral responsibility" for the stampede.
