Alexandra Daddario, Finn Wittrock to Lead ‘Hershey' Biopic From Director Mark Waters
Alexandra Daddario and Finn Wittrock are set to lead the biopic 'Hershey' about America's first family in chocolate, Dandelion Media and the Hershey Company announced on Tuesday.
Coming from 'Mean Girls' director Mark Waters with a screenplay by Sharon Paul and Timothy Michael Hayes, the film will follow Milton Hershey's 'rags-to-riches journey and his profound impact on the world,' per a press release.
The 'American Horror Story' actor is set to play chocolatier Milton, while the 'White Lotus' actress will play his philanthropist wife Kitty Hershey. Filming is set to begin in May — including on-location in Hershey, Pennsylvania — for a 2026 release.
'Against all odds, Milton achieved great success, but unlike a lot of other wealthy men of his time, he shared his success with the working people and community around him,' Waters shared in a statement. 'The core of 'Hershey,' the movie, will be the special love story between Milton and Catherine Hershey, who inspired his greatest legacy — the creation of the Milton Hershey School. I'm excited to have Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario to portray these two visionaries, who believed in leaving the world a better place than they found it — the kind of wonderful, true story that audiences are hungry for right now.'
'Milton Hershey's story exemplifies the American Dream,' Hershey Company president and CEO Michele Buck agreed. 'This movie will reveal how Milton and Kitty built something far greater than a chocolate company. Their legacy extends beyond sweet treats to education, community and opportunity for thousands. We're proud to support a film that shares the full Hershey story — one of resilience, vision and impact that continues to inspire today.'
Producers include Paul, Mark Tilghman for Dandelion Media, Mary Aloe for Aloe Entertainment, Daniel Hank and Will Hardy, with Josh Harris and Joanne Marlowe as financing partners.
Additionally, Dandelion Media promises historical accuracy as the Hershey historical archives are put to screen for the first time ever. ''Hershey' celebrates imagination, generosity and, of course, the joy of chocolate,' they teased.

A ‘White Lotus'-Inspired Coastal Italian Stunner Opens Inside the Thompson Palm Springs
Celebrity-drawing restaurateurs Marissa and Matt Hermer open their next restaurant, Bar Issi on June 6 inside the Thompson Hotel in Palm Springs, their first expansion outside of Los Angeles. With a similar color palette of Italian reds, blues, greens, and earth tones, Bar Issi's maximalist style, courtesy of Tom Parker of Fettle Design, is poised to become a beloved part of Palm Springs' dining scene. According to Marissa Hermer, the look and feel were inspired by the wildly popular Season 2 of HBO's the White Lotus , which took place on a luxe Sicilian resort, as well as San Luis Obispo's iconic overdesigned Madonna Inn with its floor-to-ceiling patterns and textures. Bar Issi's original inspiration comes from the short-lived Issima that opened as an indoor-outdoor ground-floor restaurant inside the West Hollywood La Peer hotel, serving chic pastas, pizza, and wood-fired seasonal produce. In October 2024, the Hermers also opened French Mediterranean restaurant Chez Mia in the old Ago space on Melrose, cementing their status in West Hollywood (Olivetta is undergoing renovations, while their first restaurant, the Draycott, closed at the end of 2024). Issima eventually morphed into Charbel Hayek's Ladyhawk, and the Hermers brought the Issima concept over to the desert, where it somehow feels more lived in. The 180-seat space joins the eastern Mediterranean-inflected Lola Rose Grand Mezze and Hall Napa Valley Tasting Room on the Thompson property. Marissa says she always prefers to serve the 'kind of food I like to eat,' with old money coastal Italian fare intersected with Californian sensibility. Everything is shareable, unfussy, and tasty — never too challenging but also a few steps beyond the basic. Hamachi carpaccio comes with truffle, yuzu, and ponzu, while a Sun Gold tomato gazpacho arrives just in time for Palm Springs' sweltering months. Squash blossoms filled with feta cheese and ricotta provide a warm appetizer while shrimp linguini with Calabrian chile gets a bright spritz of lemon. Wood-fired pizza ranges classic pepperoni with 24-month Parmesan and roasted mushrooms with fontina, taleggio, and thyme. Easy mains include lamb chops, roasted salmon with peas and yogurt, or citrus-marinated skirt steak. Given it's the second time the Hermers have occupied a hotel space, Bar Issi's versatile menu and fun-first approach should play well with its key location in Downtown Palm Springs, which already boasts a vibrant nightlife scene. Though located nowhere near an actual coastline, Bar Issi's escapist ambience and party-like atmosphere fit the bill for the Thompson Hotel. Bar Issi is open 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sunday 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner. Friday to Sunday, it'll serve brunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. with bar happy hour in between brunch and dinner. It'll be located inside the Thompson Hotel Palm Springs at 410 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA, 92262. Reservations are available on Resy . Sign up for our newsletter.

Sydney Sweeney's latest viral project is personal: ‘Weird in the very best way'
Sydney Sweeney is giving the people what they want, even if that something is a little unusual. The 'Euphoria' heartbreaker, who bought a house in the Florida Keys last year, has an eyebrow raising project that has nothing to do with movies or TV. The actress teamed up with personal care brand Dr. Squatch to create a soap called Bathwater Bliss, made with a dash of — you guessed it or maybe not — her bath water. OK, that's not as gnarly as it sounds. The used H20, already purified, was reportedly treated, then infused into the $8 bar. The woodsy smelling item, which also contains pine bark extract, launched Friday, and is already sold out. But we have a feeling the powers that be may throw together a few more batches due to the crazy high demand. The idea, 'weird in the very best way,' was actually hatched by Sweeney. Last fall, the 'White Lotus' star appeared in a few ads for Dr. Squatch's men's natural body wash. In one, she promotes the product from a bubble bath. The ad not only went viral, but many of her fans were joking they wanted to buy not just the wash, but the leftover water. 'There was this undercurrent of conversations related to Sydney,' John Ludeke, the brand's VP of global marketing, told AdWeek. 'I don't think they meant it in a literal sense, or maybe now it's apparent they did.' On Wednesday night, in New York for the premiere of her new Apple TV series, 'Echo Valley,' she was, of course, asked about her unexpected success in the male grooming industry (projected to reach $376.4 billion by 2030). 'I think that it's more fun to see everyone else talking about it,' the 27-year-old said cheekily, proudly adding, 'I pitched it.' Despite Sweeney's soap being sold out, you can still shop her favorites on the website.

America is gonna run out of popcorn: Savage internet memes troll Musk and Trump during online meltdown
The internet was savage watching the explosive public split between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk - and used the opprotunity to blast memes across social media. 'Elon finally found a way to make Twitter fun again,' former senior Obama adviser and podcast host Dan Pfeiffer summarized in a post on X. The whole world got a front-row seat to the spectacle between the former 'first buddy' and the president Thursday, when they traded blows on their respective social media platforms, Truth Social and X. It began with Musk's critique of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill,' and spiraled into a mudslinging match between the two billionaires. 'BREAKING: Vladimir Putin has offered to negotiate a peace deal between President Trump and Elon Musk,' X user Amuse wrote. Social media users, including Democrats, have been sharing hilarious memes of the breakup, drawing inspiration from Real Housewives to Mean Girls. One user shared a meme from Mean Girls of Musk writing about Trump in the 'Burn Book.' Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico shared a meme about the blow-up: 'Real Housewives of Pennsylvania Ave,' the congresswoman posted. Another prominent X account that Musk often interacts with shared a photo of the president with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. 'Your name is Elon now,' it said. Others poked fun at Vice President JD Vance. 'Who gets JD Vance in the divorce?' said another. Someone else shared a photo of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on January 1. 'It was foretold,' the post said. AMERICA'S GOING TO RUN OUT OF POPCORN — Jeff Tiedrich (@itsJeffTiedrich) June 5, 2025 The fallout between the two men, who at one point were almost inseparable, took a personal turn Thursday. The spat culminated in a bombshell claim from Musk that the president was 'in the Epstein files.' 'That is the real reason they have not been made public,' Musk wrote, signing off: 'Have a good day, DJT!' Ten minutes later, he added: 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.' Watching Trump and Elon fight: — Read Starting Somewhere (@JPHilllllll) June 5, 2025 It was foretold. — Middle Age Riot (@middleageriot) June 5, 2025 We've got the 👏 receipts 👏 proof 👏 timelines 👏 screenshots 👏 on this messy internet lives forever! — Rep. Melanie Stansbury (@Rep_Stansbury) June 5, 2025 Days after leaving his role as Special Advisor to the Trump administration, as a figurehead of the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk lashed out at the president's 'big beautiful bill,' calling it 'pork-filled' and an 'abomination.' Trump had previously taken the high road on the issue. Earlier, during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the president told reporters he was 'very disappointed,' with his former 'first buddy.' Trump was asked about his former adviser's recent comments against the spending bill working its way through Congress. 'Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than anyone... and he only developed a problem when he found out I would cut the EV (electric vehicle) mandate... And it really is unfair,' he replied. Who gets JD Vance in the divorce — PointlessHub (@HubPointless) June 5, 2025 "Your name is Elon now." — Autism Capital 🧩 (@AutismCapital) June 5, 2025 — Coffeezilla (@coffeebreak_YT) June 5, 2025 Trump also claimed that during the presidential election he could have won the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania without Musk's help. 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,' Musk shot back on X minutes later. 'Such ingratitude,' he added in a separate post. The White House took a more diplomatic tone. 'This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted,' Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. 'The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.' Trump appears to have thrown cold water on the notion that he and Musk could speak Friday. In a call with ABC News, the president dismissed Musk as 'the man who has lost his mind' and said he was 'not particularly' interested in reconciliation.
