President Barzani, Iranian Security Chief discuss regional stability in Tehran
Shafaq News/ On Monday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met in Tehran with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
According to the Kurdish Presidency, the meeting focused on ties between Iran, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, with both sides underscoring the importance of cooperation to enhance security and stability in the region.
President Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's commitment to ensuring that its territory poses no threat to neighboring countries.
Barzani is visiting Tehran at the invitation of Iran's Foreign Ministry to attend the Tehran Dialogue Forum, which runs through May 19 with the participation of delegations from 53 countries.
Earlier, he held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

The official also underscored the need for cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil in gas production' as soon as possible.' Iranian President invites Iraqi counterpart to Eid festival in Tehran
Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian invited Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid to attend the Eid al-Adha* festival in Tehran, with both leaders reaffirming the strength of bilateral relations. According to Iranian media reports, the two presidents discussed the current state of ties between Tehran and Baghdad during a phone call. Pezeshkian emphasized the historical and cultural bonds shared by Iran and Iraq and reiterated his administration's commitment to unity with Muslim nations, including Iraq, to safeguard the dignity of Islamic countries. President Rashid, for his part, affirmed that the Iraqi government is prepared to enhance coordination and cooperation with Tehran for the mutual benefit and sustainable development of both countries. At the end of the call, Rashid asked Pezeshkian to convey his regards to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. *Eid al-Adha, known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is an Islamic holiday commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Leader Barzani: Baghdad's unjust decree clouding our celebrations
Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani said the Kurdistan Region will mark Eid al-Adha without salaries for its employees due to what he described as an "unjust and unfair" decision by authorities in Baghdad. In a statement issued on the occasion of the Muslim holiday, Barzani extended warm congratulations to Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world, offering particular greetings to "the families of the righteous martyrs, heroic Peshmerga fighters, and the dear citizens of Kurdistan." He likened the salary cuts and what he called a policy of mass starvation against the Kurdish people to the Anfal campaigns, chemical bombardments, and acts of genocide committed by the former regime against the Kurds. Barzani continued, 'The will of the Kurdish people is stronger and higher than any injustice, crime, or Anfal campaign,' Urging those who oppose the Kurdistan Region and its people to 'look to history and draw lessons from it.'
