Suspect arrested in connection to Onslow County Peeping Tom incidents

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Officials with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office arrested the suspect in the Peeping Tom incidents that occurred in the Piney Green area in late April.
On Friday, May 16, 2025, officials arrested Arkie Lee Winston, 36, of Jacksonville, N.C. without incident.
Winston was charged with misdemeanor secretly peeping into room occupied by female and was given a $1,000 secured bond.
Winston is currently out on bond and awaiting his next court date.

PREVIOUS: Child custody exchange leads to shooting: Sheriff Melvin Bookhart, who was charged with the shooting in this case, has also been charged with Statutory Rape of a Child Less than 15 years old. During the investigation, investigators were able to determine that the female who had brought the child to the home for the child custody exchange had also previously been involved in an intimate relationship with Melvin. Both Melvin and the female admitted that the child was conceived during their relationship. Atomic City Transit launches Saturday service program

LOS ALAMOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Atomic City Transit (ACT) is announcing its new Saturday service pilot program. On Saturday's from August 2 – October 5, 2025, riders can request same-day service from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Rides can be reserved through the free ACT Ride app, or by calling 505-661-RIDE (7433). Same-day requests are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Passengers can travel with other people who are going to similar destinations.
