RiseUp Partners with Misr Italia Properties to Launch Egypt's First AI Summit
RiseUp has announced the inaugural RiseUp AI Summit, set for February 4 at Cairo Business Park, in partnership with Misr Italia Properties. The event will position Egypt as a regional hub for AI innovation, bringing together global tech leaders, investors, and startups to explore AI's role in real estate and other industries. Abdelhameed Sharara, CEO of RiseUp, emphasized the summit as a milestone for MENA's tech ecosystem, fostering innovation and collaboration. Misr Italia Properties CEO Karim El Assal highlighted the company's commitment to AI-driven real estate transformation, reinforcing its role in sustainable urban development. The summit will feature stage demos, startup exhibitions, panel discussions, and workshops, with participation from Google, Microsoft, and Orange. It aims to equip AI professionals with essential skills, drive sector-wide digital transformation, and strengthen Egypt's AI ecosystem.

Misr Italia Properties launches ‘Hilltop' phase at Solare in Ras El Hekma
Misr Italia Properties (MIP) has announced the launch of Hilltop, a new phase of its flagship coastal project, Solare, located in Ras El Hekma. Designed as a year-round destination, Solare continues to expand with Hilltop, which introduces elevated living experiences, panoramic views, and contemporary architectural elements inspired by Miami and Mediterranean coastal cities. The new phase reflects MIP's ongoing commitment to developing fully integrated, design-forward communities. Hilltop features more than 5,000 square meters of swimmable lagoons, ensuring that each building enjoys its own private beachfront. The phase offers a range of two- and three-bedroom units designed to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. At the highest elevation within Solare, Hilltop introduces the Rooftop Clubhouse, offering residents open views of the Ras El Hekma shoreline and surrounding natural scenery. Hilltop also enjoys direct access to Solare Downtown, the heart of the development's commercial and entertainment district. Solare Downtown, which spans 40 feddans and carries an estimated investment of EGP 10bn, is poised to become Ras El Hekma's central hub for retail, leisure, and tourism. Once complete, it is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors daily, adding vitality and value to the surrounding residential areas. Mohamed Khaled El Assal, CEO of Misr Italia Properties, emphasized that Hilltop and the broader Solare development reflect the company's commitment to offering thoughtfully planned living environments that integrate residential, recreational, and commercial elements. 'Every project we develop is built around a clear and distinct concept,' said El Assal. 'Solare, themed as 'A Place Where the Sun Never Sets,' is a destination for all seasons—carefully designed with international partners to create an exceptional lifestyle experience.' Solare spans 386 feddans, offering a one-kilometer stretch of sandy beach and a three-kilometer seafront. The master plan includes seven elevations reaching up to 36 meters above sea level, with over 100,000 square meters of swimmable lagoons, 30,000 of which are private. Remarkably, 82% of the units in Solare enjoy direct water views. The development includes hospitality components such as 800 hotel rooms and branded residences, aiming to blend residential living with resort-style services. Construction progress across Solare is well underway. Excavation, backfilling, and step works have been completed, while structural work for seafront units and finishing for cabanas are ongoing. MIP has also finalized land grading for phases one and two, and completed around 80% of grading across the remaining phases. Currently, 723 units are under construction, representing around 80% of the targeted cabanas in this phase, with a total investment of EGP 1.3bn. For phase two, which focuses on villas, MIP has achieved roughly 30% construction completion. Simultaneously, the company is moving forward with additional construction activities covering 1,635 new units, including chalets and villas, with projected investments of EGP 7.5bn. The first handovers are scheduled for 2027. Solare is being developed in collaboration with a roster of local and international firms, including EDSA, Whitespace, Synthetic, and Design Avenue, covering all aspects of planning, design, and architecture.

The tool, known as 'Reimagine and Auto Frame,' was previously exclusive to Pixel smartphones but is now being rolled out to a broader user base across Android devices, with iOS support expected later this year. This innovative feature allows users to alter photo elements and backgrounds using simple text-based prompts. For instance, users can request to replace a gloomy sky in a photo with a bright blue one. The Auto Frame function offers multiple framing options by cropping, expanding, or using generative AI to fill in missing elements, helping users optimize image composition effortlessly. Google states that the new editing tools centralize all enhancement options in one place, making the photo editing experience smoother and more intuitive. Google Photos will also now offer AI-powered suggestions that combine multiple effects to help users apply quick, smart enhancements using a new 'AI Enhance' option. These enhancements can include sharpening details, removing unwanted elements, or improving lighting conditions—all tailored to the specific image content. By tapping on specific areas within a photo, users will receive contextual editing suggestions, such as adjusting brightness, enhancing subject clarity, or softening the background. These features are designed to reduce the time and complexity of manual editing while boosting creativity and quality. Google confirmed that the new tools will begin rolling out to Android devices this month, with iOS compatibility following later in 2025. In addition to the AI editing upgrades, Google Photos is also improving sharing features. Users can now share albums using QR codes, simplifying the process of inviting others to view or contribute to shared photo collections. Egypt, Google, UNICEF to boost tech in education
The Egyptian government, Google, and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) discussed on Friday 30/5/2025 means of boosting technology integration in pre-university education system development in Egypt. During a visit to the United Kingdom (UK), Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed his commitment to applying the highest international standards to assess the performance of students and teachers. Abdel Latif noted the ministry focuses on introducing the best training programs for teachers for their capacity building, which will in turn enhance their skills. The meeting focused on improving cooperation to implement successful models for integrating technology into education. The discussions focused on reducing the burden on teachers and saving time through the optimal use of artificial intelligence.
