National Extreme Festival treks seaside to Aldo Scribante
South Africa's premier circuit racing series makes its second visit to the coast this year after the season opener in Cape Town in March.

The Aldo Scribante circuit outside Gqeberha will host round three of this year's National Extreme Festival Presented by Coca-Cola this weekend, with six disciplines on four and two wheels taking to the tarmac.
Touring Cars
Heading up proceedings will be two races for South African Touring Cars.

Leading the title chase, and the man to beat, should be veteran Michael van Rooyen (SVR Steelworks Toyota Corolla), with his closest challengers being the likes of Jagger Robertson (Sparco Volkswagen Golf GTI), Keegan Campos (Campos Trucking BMW 128ti), Saood Variawa (Gazoo Racing Toyota Corolla) and Julian van der Watt (Chemical Logistics Volkswagen Golf GTI).
Also in the running will be Nathi Msimanga (Gazoo Racing Toyota Corolla), Andrew Schofield (Chemical Logistics BMW 128i) and Siyabonga Mankonkwana (Chemical Logistics Toyota Corolla).
SupaCup
Racing behind the Touring Cars will be the SupaCup brigade.

They will be led by led by drivers like Tate Bishop (ANGRI Volkswagen SupaPolo), defending champion Jonathan Mogotsi (Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo, Charl Visser (Charl Engineering Volkswagen SupaPolo) and Dawie van der Merwe (Toyota Gazoo Racing Supa Starlet).

Polo Cup
The Astron Energy Polo GTI Cup races should see Ethan Coetzee (Ethan Racing) and Mohammed Karodia (Fast 5) continue their season-long fight at the front.

Able and willing to spoil their day should be drivers like lady racer Tyler Robinson (AF Fans), Wayne Masters (Performance Masters), John Kruger (Habot Lubricants) and Derick Smalberger (Sabertek Polo).
Expected to also challenge for top places will be Rory Atkinson (Industry Petroleum), Bevan Masters (CPS Warehouse), Mike Barbaglia and Hannes Scheepers (Dainfern Dental).
Two-wheels
For two-wheeler enthusiasts, the SunBet Kawasaki ZX10 Masters will tackle two races, with defending champion Clinton Seller (King Price Xtreme), certainly the man to beat on top of the points table.
He will face off against riders like Graeme van Breda (Stefanutli Stocks), Jayson Lamb (Tyremart EL), Adriaan van Dalen (VAG Automotive Centre ), Pieter Delport (Carlin Alademie) and James Barson (Steelmonkey Clothing).
Also in the running will be Johan le Roux (Avidan Trading), Damian Purificati (Amalgum Welding Shop) and David Enticot (Ravenol SA).
The Gazoo Racing Cup Driven By Netstar races should deliver spectacular action, with drivers competing in the three separate-scored classes.
GR Cup
Jason Coetzee will head up the Toyota GR Cup's GR86 class after having won three out of four races so far.
He will be challenged by drivers like Kent Swartz, Khanya Ngwennya, Brandon van der Watt and Jordan Moodley
The GR Corolla class for select Toyota dealers will see points leader Mario de Sousa being the man beat. Opposition will come from fellow Andries de Villiers, Johan Boonzaaier, Dylan Jones, Riaan de Ru, Werner Venter and Toyota GR Cup Academy instructor, Paul de Vos.

In the media section, driving the all-new GR Yaris fitted with the eight-speed Direct Automatic Transmission, runaway championship leader Nabil Abdool (SuperSport) will continue his season battle with Kyle Kock (CAR Magazine) and Phuti Mpyane (TimesLive).
Fighting out for in the rest of the six car field will be Lawrence Minnie (AutoTrader), The Citizen's Charl Bosch and Willem van de Putte (Independent/IOL).
Volkswagen Rookie Cup
The Volkswagen Rookie Cup will start Saturday's race day programme with front runners in the identical Polo Vivo GT models to include Giovanni Florotto, Uzair Khan, Mauro Da Luz, Christopher Tait and Luke Hill.

Admission tickets will be available from the Aldo Scribante Raceway entrance gate at R100 per adult, and children under 12 will get in for free.
Saturday's full race day will be broadcast live on the Extreme Festival website.

And then there were four. Nearly six months of URC action brought us to last week's pulsating quarter-finals, and now it is down to Leinster versus Glasgow and the Bulls versus the Sharks. With the home side likely to get front-foot ball, the Bulls backs should do the rest on the scoreboard. But I'm not predicting a high-scoring affair. The Sharks have a knack for pulling expansive teams down into the trenches for an arm wrestle. The challenge for the Sharks became a whole lot tougher when they lost their all-Springbok second row of Eben Etzebeth and Jason Jenkins to injury. Etzebeth is the best lock in the world and Jenkins has been playing the quality of rugby that earned him Springbok colours. The Sharks' pack was always going to be under pressure from their in-form Bulls counterpart and with a makeshift second row, it is going to be a big ask for the visitors to gain parity up front. Betting angle The bookies have the Bulls as strong favourites. To back them simply as winners will mean that for every R100 you put down, you will get R28 back at Hollywoodbets. And if you fancy the Sharks to pull off an upset, R100 will get you a R280 reward. The wise bet is to back the Bulls, but rather on the handicap than just on the scoreboard. I like the minus-7.5 handicap, which means the Bulls must win by at least 7.5 points for the bet to pay out. In this case, R100 will win you R90 plus your stake back. Alternatively, you can take the Sharks on the plus handicap. I think a tasty option is the plus-11.5 handicap. This means the Sharks won't lose by more than 11.5 points. I think this will happen. Finals are close-scoring affairs. R100 will win you R50. Leinster v Glasgow in Dublin, 3.45pm Much has been said about Leinster being chokers and an aging team because of their recent history of losing big games. I'm not so sure this Leinster team is over the hill just yet, and the recent losses will have rid them of the complacency which I think has been their problem. A correctly-focused, hungry Leinster team should win at a packed Aviva Stadium. That said, the Warriors shocked Pretoria last year when they beat the Bulls in the URC final. They are a champion team and well-coached by South African Franco Smith. They were exceptional in their quarter-final demolition of the Stormers in the quarter-finals. Betting angle Glasgow are massive underdogs and R100 on them to win will net you R580. The same amount on Leinster will win you a paltry R12. So that is not worth it. I reckon the home team will win, but by how much? The handicap is the way to go in this game and a good option is the minus 13.5 handicap. For that to pay out, Leinster need to win by more than 13.5. That is basically two converted tries. R100 will reward you with an R85 profit.

Kaizer Chiefs to axe winger before Holland tour
Kaizer Chiefs will attempt to loan out one of their fringe wingers as he continues to struggle for game time with the Naturena giants. 31-year-old left-footed winger Tebogo Potsane is on the way out of Naturena. The Blom-born star has battled for regular minutes since a move from Royal AM in July 2023. He's only got 19 appearances in that time, with three assists. Here's an update via SoccerLaduma: 'For now, they have been looking at which players to release, and there is a list for those. But for Potsane, it is expected to be a loan move.
