Former Man United star Javier Hernandez sparks fury by accusing women of 'eradicating masculinity' and claims they should focus on 'multiplying, cleaning, and sustaining the home'
The 37-year-old, affectionately dubbed Chicharito by United fans, also claimed women are making society 'hypersensitive' and that they should focus on 'multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home'.
Hernandez spent five years at Old Trafford, winning two Premier League titles before leaving in 2015.
The Mexican is his country's all-time record goalscorer, with 52 strikes in 109 appearances, and also played for Real Madrid as well as spending two years with both West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen.
He rejoined boyhood side Guadalajara last year but has suffered a series of injuries and seen his game time markedly reduced.
In recent days Hernandez has posted a series of sexist rants on Instagram, also hitting out at societal gender roles.

The ex-United forward has previously opened up about struggling since splitting with his model wife Sarah Kohan in 2021.
And on Friday, he claimed that woman are 'failing' and should focus on 'multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home.'
In a video on Instagram, he said: 'Women, you are failing. You are eradicating masculinity by making society hypersensitive.
'Embrace your feminine energy: nurturing, caring, receiving, multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home, which is the most precious place for us men.
'Do not be afraid to be women, to allow yourselves to be led by a man who only wants to see you happy, because we do not know heaven without you. Holding yourselves responsible for your energy is also a way of loving you.'
He added: 'Men, we are failing in the lack of commitment, putting our partners last, not keeping our word, and not prioritizing habits to become admirable.
I understand that we are afraid to speak and truly express what we feel because they are trying to eradicate masculinity, since in certain cases of the past, feminine energy was suppressed, but many of us are here wanting to love you, take care of you, respect you, and provide for you.
'But you women must learn to honour masculinity,' he concluded.
Social media users were quick to criticise the striker.
One wrote: 'Come on, Javier, it's sad to see you like this, please stop.'
Another added: 'This video really makes you [look] crazy. Just to think that honouring the woman is reducing her to taking care of the house.'
Hernandez's latest rant follows another controversial Instagram post from just a day earlier.
On Thursday, in another video, he said: 'So, you want a man who provides, but for you, cleaning is patriarchal oppression? Interesting.'
The post was accompanied by the caption: 'Interesting. (Home is not patriarchy, it's your temple).'
In the past, Hernandez has spoken about his failings as a husband.
'I wasn't the best partner I needed to be, I wasn't the greatest dad that I wanted to be,' he told The Ringer. 'I wasn't a great friend. I wasn't the great human being I wanted to be.'
The forward spent one season on loan at Real Madrid having been shipped out from United
He also said he has struggled with not being able to see his children regularly following his separation from his wife.
He claimed the break up caused him to start a 'very deep spiritual and philosophical path in which I realized that I didn't care what people thought about me.'
The Mexican added: 'I was terrified to make the decision that the marriage was not where it should be and that we had to look for another way.'
Hernandez scored twice and provided a single assist in 22 club appearances last season.

Marcus Rashford makes telling Man Utd comment after completing Barcelona transfer
Barcelona have announced the signing of Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan and the departed Manchester United forward has been speaking after he was unveiled at the Nou Camp Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on loan with a dig at Manchester United by saying: 'I feel at home here – it's where dreams come true.' Rashford secured the move after falling out with United boss Ruben Amorim, who exiled him last season and decided he was not part of his future plans. Barcelona will cover Rashford's wages in full next season – saving United around £12million – and have an option to buy him for £26m at the end of the loan deal. Speaking at the Nou Camp, Rashford said: 'I'm very excited. It's a club where people's dreams come true. They win big prizes and what the clubs stands for really means a lot to me. 'It feels like I'm at home and this is a big factor in my choice to come here, because it's a family club, people are comfortable here and it's a good place for players to showcase their skills. I want to say thank you for the warm welcome. It's a different environment for me but it feels like home. 'I'm full of excitement and hunger to go out and help this club win. They won so much last year and I can see the ambition is to do better than last year and that is what you want to hear as a player. 'It keeps you improving year on year and that's what you need to be - the best version of yourself. So I'm very excited to be here, eager to get the games going and I'm enjoying every minute of it. 'I always try to make decisive actions - fast, dynamic plays and I always like good football, so I have always been a fan of watching Barcelona play from a young age, like most football fans. It's going to be a joy for me to play here and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.' Rashford, who hopes the move will see him make England's World Cup squad for next year's tournament in the US, revealed the role Barca coach Hansi Flick played in making the move happen. 'Another key factor of the reason that I'm here is the conversations I had with him,' said Rashford. 'They were very positive. Last year and throughout his career he's proved he's one of the top coaches and to lead such a young team to a very successful season and coming back to still want to do more - it showed me everything that I thought I knew about the club. 'Now, to be here, it's everything I wished and thought. I'm eager to get going and learn the Barcelona way and be ready for the games.' Will Marcus Rashford be a success at Barcelona? Give us your prediction in the comments section. Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he scored four goals before injury ended his campaign early. The 27-year-old was dropped by Amorim for the derby against Manchester City last December and never played for United again. Despite offloading Rashford, United are braced to start the new season without a new striker leading their attack. A striker was the priority in this summer's transfer window, after United scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season. But the only two arrivals so far have been £62.5m signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71m, neither of whom are a No.9. United have seen their top striker targets go elsewhere this summer – Liam Delap joined Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on a move to Arsenal, while Hugo Ekitike is Liverpool-bound. Against that backdrop, Amorim fears there is every chance United will start their Premier League opener at home to Arsenal on August 17 without a new striker. A swap deal involving winger Alejandro Garnacho – left out of the US tour squad after asking to leave – and Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, both valued at £40m, is an option. Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League, with Chelsea his first-choice club, although there is a reluctance at United to sell him to a domestic rival in a move that could ultimately backfire. Jackson has been pushed down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Delap from Ipswich and Joao Pedro from Brighton, both of whom are ahead of him in terms of selection. Fans furious over potential deal that would see ESPN take control of NFL Network
ESPN and the NFL are reportedly 'inside the five-yard line' in negotiations over a deal that could leave football fans furious. The two parties are said to be inching closer to an agreement that would see the network acquire a significant portion of NFL media, including the RedZone Channel, according to The Athletic. In addition to RedZone, which simultaneously broadcasts all the best action from across the league's Sunday slates, ESPN is reportedly also in line to acquire the NFL Network and seven regular-season games that currently air on the league-owned network. It's currently unclear how much the blockbuster deal could cost the network but it is believed an agreement could be imminent. Talks have reached such a stage that the league has informed team owners that they may need to vote as early as next month, the report added. However, NFL fans seemingly hope negotiations will crumble before a vote takes place as they were left seething over the bombshell news Wednesday. Many on social media claimed that RedZone's quality would tank under the stewardship of ESPN. 'I think it'll be a lesser product. Redzone and NFL network are better as their distinct selves. The product doesn't need ESPN's spin on it. Look what they did with the UFC,' one user shared on X. 'ESPN gonna find a way to make it worse aren't they,' another claimed, while a third added: 'This will go downhill so much if it moves to ESPN.' 'ESPN just buys products and ruins them. No way it's actually better and most likely will get way worse. And probably will have tons of commercials,' weighed in a fourth. 'I don't see this being a positive thing for the fans…,' posted another, with one user asking: 'Can ESPN just go away already?' For years, RedZone was known for its 'seven hours of commercial-free football' but the fear of increased advertisements following an ESPN takeover seemed to be a point of contention for a lot of fans. 'Get ready for advertisements 24 hours a day,' one dejected fan posted, while another sarcastically added: 'So much for commercial free football.' In May, Scott Hanson announced that he would be returning as host of the show for a 17th season this fall. Fans were left furious as the bombshell report broke with many slamming the network Hanson's status as host of RedZone, and the show's airing as a whole, came into question as speculation ramped up about his NFL contract. Earlier this year, there had been reports that walks between the host and the network had stalled with his former contact expiring at the end of the 2024 season. But the veteran host confirmed his return in a social media statement earlier this year. '100 days from now = NFL RedZone. (& for those wondering: Yes, I *will* be there. We have A LOT of Touchdowns to watch together!) #NFLRedZone,' Hanson said.
