Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal-backed LAT Aerospace buys Bombardier jet? All you need to know
'For those who want facts more than clickbaity headlines – LAT is a startup, and has not bought any private jet. LAT is about making planes for regional aviation, and is not in the business of buying plane,' Goyal said in a post on X.
'And, I don't own one personally either. Will be nice to have one though,' he further clarified.
As per the report by Moneycontrol quoting multiple sources, Bombardier Global series aircraft was scheduled to start operations from July 16. The jet has been seen parked in the Delhi airport's VIP bay since June 2025.
The exact model of the aircraft could not be ascertained by the report. The registration of the aircraft, as well as the purpose of its flight today were also not known.
As per the report, Indamer MJets Airport Services and Bird Execujet Airport Services are responsible for the ground handling and engineering of the Bombardier Global jet.
Earlier in June, LAT Aerospace co-founder Surobhi Das confirmed that Deepinder Goyal is eyeing the regional air travel segment with the aircraft startup.
"While building Zomato and flying across India, Deepinder and I kept circling back to the same question: Why is regional air travel still so broken - expensive, infrequent and mostly out of reach unless you live in a metro? India has 450 airstrips - but only 150 see commercial flights. That means nearly two-thirds of our aviation potential is being wasted. Meanwhile, millions in Tier 2 and 3 cities spend hours - sometimes days - traveling by road or rail," Das said in a LinkedIn post.
Goyal's bet on the aviation venture could redefine regional air travel in India which is at a nascent stage, as uncertainty remains over regulatory clearance, technological capability and public adoption.
The reported development on LAT Aerospace comes days after Deepinder Goyal bought a nearly 11,000 sq ft apartment in DLF's ultra luxury project in Gurugram for ₹ 52.3 crore.
According to Zapkey, the Zomato co-founder bought this apartment in 'DLF Camellias' project from DLF Ltd in August 2022. The registration of the house was done in March this year.

Mumbai's Iconic Van Rani Toy Train Set To Return To Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Mumbai's iconic toy train, Van Rani, is set to start chugging again at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park after Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, confirmed its return to the city locals. 'I am delighted to see the return of the Van Rani toy train at Sanjay Gandhi National Park," Goyal said, as quoted by Deccan Herald. 'This will undoubtedly boost tourism in North Mumbai and further highlight the area's presence on India's tourism map. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the revival of this joy train." Goyal had made persistent efforts in the revival of Van Rani, making consistent follow-ups with the park authorities before it was formally reintroduced. Unfortunately, the services had to be paused after severe damage caused by Cyclone Tauktae that passed by Mumbai in 2021. The new Van Rani has been migrated from Ahmedabad and boasts of transparent roofs and large glass windows. The toy train's trials have already begun, raising excitement among the locals. The Van Rani's revival sets in stone a return to its glory days, where it was a favourite among children and offered families a memorable day out at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The park also features a mini zoo with visitors getting a glimpse of animals, birds, and vegetation around. Due to its scenic experience, it is a popular photography and selfie location for its visitors. India-EFTA Trade Deal to Come into Force from October 1: Piyush Goyal
The free trade agreement between India and the four-nation European bloc EFTA will be implemented from October 1, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday. India, on March 10, 2024, signed a trade pact with the four-nation bloc – the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – which not only gives access to India's goods and services to that market but also opens possibilities of $100 billion in investments in the country over 15 years. "India-EFTA TEPA to come into effect from 1st October," Goyal said in a post on X. The EFTA trade pact, the negotiations for which began in 2008, includes 100% market access to Indian non-agricultural products and concessions on processed agricultural products (PAP), while keeping primary agricultural products out of the ambit of the pact. EFTA will eliminate or reduce import tariffs on 99.6% of India's exports. India will eliminate or reduce import tariffs on 95.3% of the exports from EFTA nations. However, the effective duty on gold, which forms 80% of exports from EFTA countries, remains untouched at 15%. The trade pact also has provisions for mutual recognition agreements in professional services like nursing, chartered accountants, and architects, among others. This should allow these professionals from India to have more opportunities in the four EFTA bloc countries. On intellectual property rights, the two sides agreed to follow the high standards of the Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) agreement. India's interests in generic medicines and concerns related to the evergreening of patents have been fully addressed.
