EXCLUSIVE Clinton Morrison explains why Eberechi Eze 'can be a complete attacking midfielder' ahead of FA Cup final - and admits he will gloat to Soccer Saturday team if Crystal Palace beat Man City!
Iain Dowie once branded Clinton Morrison 'Mr Crystal Palace '. Viewers or listeners who take in any of his work on the likes of Sky Sports or BBC 5 Live may agree.
In the 1999-2000 season, Morrison was one of the youngsters that Crystal Palace successfully pinned their hopes of First Division survival on, battling financial problems.
He would play the same role a season later, before helping them reach the Championship play-offs upon his return in 2005-06. They were, though, unsuccessful.
Palace would have the odd flirt with the top flight in Morrison's time. Between 1998-99 and 2012-13, though, they would spend just one season in the Premier League. The thought of a trophy simply a pipe dream.
This weekend, they will again contest the FA Cup final. 'This one feels massive,' Morrison exclusively tells Mail Sport from his sofa, speaking on behalf of freebets.com, 48 hours out from one of the biggest days in his club's history.
Palace will take on a Manchester City side who are faltering. Lose on Saturday, and they will finish the season tropyless after winning the Treble just two years ago. But that's not Palace's problem - they are there to write their own story.
'Everyone's talking about the final,' Morrison says. 'The Palace fans will out-sing any supporters in the country.
'They were unbelievable at the semi-final. I was there, and to see that kind of atmosphere, especially at Wembley, was brilliant. The fans have been incredible at Selhurst all season, but that day was something special. Hopefully they can bring home the trophy.'
A win on Saturday wouldn't just represent the club's first-ever FA Cup victory or a first trophy since 1994, which was when they won the second division - the Championship as it's now known - but it would give the Eagles the opportunity to play in European competition for the first time in 26 years.
'Imagine that - Palace in Europe,' Morrison challenges. 'It would be a dream for the fans. Travelling across Europe to watch their team would be unreal.
'Honestly, it would be one of the biggest highlights in the club's history, right up there with anything I experienced as a player.
'I spoke to the chairman after the semi-final and he said, "I'm glad you were there to see that". I told him, "One more to go". He agreed and said, "Let's do it against Man City". That's the focus now.
'For fans who remember the tough times - the years in the Championship, the fights to stay up, the multiple administrations - this would be incredible. The chairman deserves a lot of credit for putting the club in such a strong position. There are some top players now, and beating Manchester City, arguably the best side around, would be phenomenal.
'City have made Wembley their second home, but if Palace can pull it off, south London will take over the city. It would be a landmark achievement and open the door to Europe.'
The person to thank? Oliver Glasner.
'Glasner has been fantastic,' Morrison adds. 'Earlier in the season people questioned him - Palace were struggling and the start was slow. But the chairman knew his quality and backed him. He lost Michael Olise in the summer, which was a massive blow, and replacing someone like that isn't easy, but Glasner's turned things around.
'He's a very detailed manager. On the training pitch, every player knows their role. He demands hard work - train how you play. That's why this group is thriving under him. He's getting the very best out of them.'
But if Glasner is the man at the wheel, Eberechi Eze has his foot on the accelerator. Palace's No 10 is now a fully-fledged England international and the team's anchor, netting a brace against Tottenham last weekend in their last match before the final.
Since joining from QPR in the summer of 2020, he has gone from strength to strength. 'He can be a complete attacking midfielder,' Morrison argues. High praise.
'After a slow start due to injury, he's been phenomenal in the second half of the season,' he adds. 'He's a joy to watch - someone I would pay money to watch. He makes the game look easy, effortless, smooth.
'He's scoring goals and providing assists. I know him personally - he's humble, driven, and always looking to improve. That goal in the semi-final - what a moment. This final could be his stage.'
So, on Saturday, Morrison will be at Wembley, first working in lounges at Wembley before his commentary gig. He'll take a break from Soccer Saturday punditry to do so, but will be back for the final day of the season - and ready to brag to his co-hosts if Place win gold.
'I don't care if the others are happy for me or not,' he jokes. 'I'll be in the studio on the last show of the season saying, "Did anyone see that FA Cup final? Palace in Europe sounds nice, doesn't it?"
'But I won't get too ahead of myself. Let's get the win first. If we do, though, I'll be celebrating. No doubt about it.
'It's great fun. I work with amazing people - from producers, to presenters, to pundits. They let me be myself on Soccer Saturday.
'I give my opinions. People may not always agree, but that's my job. We have laughs, good banter, and it's all real. What you see on TV is who I am. I'll never change.'
In just a few hours, Palace will step out onto the Wembley turf once again, dreaming once again. Around 35,000 of their fans will be inside the stadium, with tens of thousands more doing their best to take over the capital.
It'll be work for Morrison on the day. An appearance and then commentary. But, when all is said and done, he's a fan. We all are. It's what football is about. And maybe, just maybe, he and thousands more will have the best days of their Palace-supporting lives this weekend.

Women's Euro 2025 odds: Tournament preview and predictions
The Uefa Women's Euro 2025 tournament takes place in Switzerland from July 2-27. England defend the title they won in 2022 and this article looks at the latest odds for the competition and provides analysis of the main contenders. Women's Euro 2025 odds Here are the odds for all 16 of the nations to win the Women's Euro 2025 title. If you already have a bet365 account and are looking for a new bookmaker to use for this week's action, check out our list of the best free bets. Women's Euro 2025 odds – the main contenders There are four nations that are ranked as the main contenders at short odds to win the Women's Euro 2025 tournament. Read on for analysis for all four of these teams, plus our best picks among the outsiders. Spain – 2/1 Montserrat Tome's Spain are the favourites to win the European Championship for the first time and rightly so, having lifted the World Cup in 2023. They should have no problem in the group stage, where they face Portugal, Belgium and Italy. They beat both Portugal and Belgium home and away during their recent Nations League campaign. If Spain top Group B they face the Group A runners-up in the quarter-finals. That section, which includes the hosts Switzerland, looks the weakest of the four, so Spain have a friendly path to the semi-finals. Already used the bet365 promo code for their casino offering? Take a look at more online casino bonuses here England – 3/1 The second favourites are the Lionesses, who were runners-up at the 2023 World Cup and won the previous European Championship in 2022 thanks to Chloe Kelly's winner against Germany. Big names such as Mary Earps and Fran Kirby have retired from international duty, while Millie Bright has withdrawn from the squad. There is still plenty of experience in Sarina Weigman's party but their recent results have been erratic. They failed to win any of their away games in the Nations League and finished second behind France in qualifying for this tournament. While England have the nous to make progress, they are poor value at 3/1. Why not make use of the Betfred promo code for similar odds available France – 9/2 France have once again been drawn alongside England in Group D of Euro 2024. With the Netherlands also in this group, it looks to be the toughest in the competition. Nevertheless, the French could be worth considering at this price. They have already finished above England in qualifying, although there is an argument that they would be better off finishing second in this group and avoiding the likelihood of meeting Spain in the semi-finals. France have never reached the last four of the Euros, but would seem to represent better value than England and could be worth an each-way bet. Germany – 5/1 Of the four main contenders we have featured, Germany look to be on the easier side of the draw. If they win their Group C then their quarter-final could be tough, against the runners-up in Group D, but the winners could then have a favourable semi-final. Although Germany underperformed at the last World Cup, they reached the final of this competition in 2022 and finished third at the 2024 Olympics. Women's Euro 2025 odds – best of the rest Group A stands out for being without a truly elite team, giving an underdog a chance to progress into the latter stages of this tournament. Both the hosts Switzerland and Norway are priced at 25/1. Whoever wins the group will meet the second-placed team in Group B, which is likely to be Portugal, Belgium or Italy. Either the Swiss or Norwegians should make the quarters, with the latter having more potential to go further, with the likes of Barcelona's Caroline Graham Hansen and Ada Hegerberg in their squad.

Soccer Aid row as Angry Ginge blasts Carlos Tevez and shows off bloody injury after clash
YouTube personality Angry Ginge showed off his injury from last night's Soccer Aid match, sending a poignant message to Carlos Tevez after a brutal run in Angry Ginge hit out at Carlos Tevez after showing off a bloodied injury from their clash during Soccer Aid. The social media personality jumped on Instagram right after the match - which saw England fall apart against the World XI in the second half - to reveal the damage caused by his encounter with the Argentine star. "Cheers Tevez. Tw*t," snapped the Manchester United fan as he showed off a bleeding cut on his leg from inside the changing room. Tevez - who famously played for both Man United and Manchester City during his professional career - scored four goals before Big Zuu sealed the win for the World XI, scoring the fifth goal. Desperate to stop the Argentine striker from scoring again, Angry Ginge charged into Tevez, sending him flying, as fans watching on from the stands at the charity match were left shocked, the Mirror reports. Tevez quickly bounced back to his feet and appeared to lunge at the YouTube star before the two eventually separated. Despite England's defeat, Angry Ginge was named Man of the Match for his performance as defender, which included a dramatic goal-line clearance. The 23 year old threw himself across the goal to stop David Trezeguet equalising for the opposition. Ginge - real name Morgan Burtwhistle - leapt to his feet straight after the block and pumped his fists in the air roaring at the crowd in Old Trafford. But it was the clash with Tevez that really got fans talking on social media. "AngryGinge smashes into Carlos Tevez to accomplish the dreams of every Manchester United fan," joked one. Another added: "Angry Ginge leaving one on Tevez, asked for it and got it. He thinks it's the Champions League final." A third simply stated: "Not a big fan of YouTubers playing Soccer Aids. But obviously get their appeal with their fans etc. However I'm a massive fan of Angry Ginge clattering Tevez in a charity match." Fans were quick to joke about how seriously Ballon d'Or winner Tevez took the game, as he danced through the celebrity defence and unleashed a flurry of shots at England keeper Paddy McGuinness - scoring four goals in just ten minutes. "Fully here for Carlos Tevez playing Soccer Aid like it's a World Cup final," one fan said. But not everyone was impressed, as one viewer complained: "At what point do they stop allowing recently retired ex pros to play in Soccer Aid. Sorry but it isn't fun watching Carlos Tevez and Jermain Defoe score past Paddy McGuinness and Westlife's Nicky Byrne." The drama started even before kick-off, as England coach Tyson Fury sparked fury by turning the air blue just seconds after being handed the microphone. As the cameras went inside the England dressing room, Tyson was giving the players a motivational speech saying: "We are f***ing Spartans". Host Alex Scott rushed to apologise to families watching: "We do apologise for the swearing. It's Tyson, we don't know what's going to happen." The highly anticipated match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford football stadium in Manchester, selling over 70,000 tickets. The World XI FC took home a 5-4 victory, reclaiming the win and extending their overall lead to 8-6 since the first Soccer Aid match in 2006. The game began with Sam Thompson completing his Match Ball Mission - a journey which saw the ball travel more than 270 miles on foot and by bike from Stamford Bridge stadium in London, to Old Trafford. During the broadcast, it was revealed that Sam's challenge raised an impressive £ 2,075,564.46 for charity.

Angry Ginge labels Carlos Tevez a 't***' after being injured by former Man United star in Soccer Aid clash
Soccer Aid may be a friendly game with the aim of raising money for charity but there appeared to be some real tension between internet personality Angry Ginge and Carlos Tevez. Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, is a lifelong Man United fan and has previously said that he 'can't stand' Tevez. The retired Argentine famously joined United's local rivals Man City after helping them win two Premier league titles and the Champions League. It was a move that did not sit well with the Old Trafford faithful and Ginge took his chance to get a small piece of revenge as he flew in with a crunching challenge on Tevez during Sunday's game at the Theatre of Dreams.. And Tevez also made sure to leave something in on Ginge during the collision, which briefly threatened to turn into an actual scuffle. The YouTuber took to Instagram to share a photo of a large cut on his leg after the game, writing 'cheers Tevez, t***.' Tevez ultimately had the last laugh on the night, scoring four goals in 15 minutes to inspire a comeback from the World XI. Tevez was booed by the crowd after each of them but his efforts levelled the game, allowing Big Zuu to score a late winner for a 5-4 triumph. Earlier, Tevez appeared to revel in the role of pantomime villain as he responded to the boos by cupping his ear and showing the crowd the back of his shirt. Wayne Rooney had earlier opened the scoring in front of the Stretford End, before ex-Lionesses star Toni Duggan doubled the home side's lead. Jermain Defoe bagged a brace for England after the break but the second half belonged to Tevez. Tevez may have scored four but it was Ginge who was named player of the match for his tireless defensive work.
