Thousands of fans, media members, and boxing luminaries gathered at the Hall's historic grounds and the Turning Stone Resort Casino to welcome the Class of 2025; an emotional and star-studded tribute to the athletes and contributors who shaped boxing's legacy.
Among those celebrated were Manny Pacquiao, Vinny Paz, Michael Nunn, Mary Jo Sanders, Yessica Chavez, and Anne Sophie Mathis. Others inducted included Referees, Broadcasters, and Journalists, alongside trailblazers and pioneers who shaped the evolution of boxing. Those inducted were chosen by the membership of the Boxing Writers Association of America and a panel of international boxing historians.
Pacquiao was the headline name in the class of 2025 that was enshrined during the ceremony. His speech was nothing but humble and faith-filled. 'Thank you for the awards. I came from nothing, just a small boy; no shoes, no food, no chance, just a dream in my heart. I know pain, but I also know what God can do if you keep the Faith and never give up. Every fight, every victory, was a step further from poverty. It was not just for me but for my family, for the Filipino people," said Pacquiao on YouTube.
Vinny Paz, the three-division champion who overcame a broken neck sustained in a car crash to resume his career, and Michael Nunn, a champion at middleweight and super middleweight, were the other top men's fighters in the class. The women's modern category spotlighted Yessica Chavez, Anne Sophie Mathis, and Mary Jo Sanders, each a fearless world champion. Additionally, trailblazer Cathy Davis was honored for breaking barriers, most notably earning a pro boxing license in 1978 and championing gender equality.

Non-participant inductees included iconic figures like referee Kenny Bayless and cut man Al Gavin, alongside broadcaster Randy Gordon and producer Ross Greenburg in the Observers category, recognizing their instrumental roles in boxing's integrity and storytelling. The Class of 2025 honors boxers whose careers blend athletic excellence with personal courage and global impact.

Tennessee Football Gets Good News on No. 1 Ranked Star Recruit

Tennessee Football Gets Good News on No. 1 Ranked Star Recruit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tennessee Volunteers have arguably sat at the top of the list for one of the best offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting class. As his time to make a decision inches closer, that hasn't changed. Advertisement Five-star offensive lineman Darius Gray visited the Volunteers over last weekend. While speaking to 247Sports' Patrick Brown, Gray shared how much he enjoyed the visit. 'They did a great job,' Gray told Brown on Sunday. 'I think Tennessee is definitely going to be a school that we're going to consider when it's decision time. "Tennessee has always been at the top of the list for me for however long I've been knowing them, and they've never changed since – and that's another big thing. You go down a few times, you can kind of start to see people switch up a little bit. "They're the same people as I met them the very first time, so that's big.' Tennessee Volunteers football head coach Josh Heupel© Brianna Paciorka/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images In addition to Tennessee, Gray has seen the Clemson Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Virginia Cavaliers and Virginia Tech Hokies on an official visit. The top-rated prospect is also still planning trips to the Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks. Advertisement But when talking about Tennessee, Gray added there's nothing he doesn't like. 'I enjoyed everything,' Gray told Brown. 'Just being around the players was kind of the biggest thing. That was the next step in this recruitment process, and everybody was great.' According to the On3 Industry Rankings, 247Sports and Rivals, Gray is the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class. Based on the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 2 interior offensive lineman and second-rated Virginia prospect for 2026. Gray is also the No. 28 overall recruit in the class. Red Sox Get Bad News on ‘High Leverage' Relief Ace

Red Sox Get Bad News on 'High Leverage' Relief Ace originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Boston Red Sox can point to a wide array of problems to explain their disappointing, 32-36 season so far, ahead of Tuesday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays. Starting pitching has certainly been a major problem. Advertisement But the bullpen hasn't been great either, with a 3.58 ERA that ranks 12th in MLB, and 14 blown saves, more than any other team. Many of the bullpen's problems can be traced to overuse. The Red Sox played 28 games in May, and starting pitchers failed to make it through five innings in half of them. On the season, the Boston bullpen has faced 1,115 batters. That's sixth-most in baseball. Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora (13) looks on against the Tampa Bay Rays during the fifth inning at Tropicana Klement Neitzel-Imagn Images Since May 28, the bullpen has only been more stretched because second-year reliever Justin Slaten has not pitched since then. He has been on the injured list with 'right shoulder inflammation. 'Slaten was used primarily in 'high leverage' situations, often taking the eighth inning to get the game to closer Aroldis Chapman. Advertisement In fact, 18 of Slaten's 24 appearances came in what were defined as 'high leverage' situations. But Slaten also showed himself capable of closing games, too. He recorded three saves in his first 24 appearances, though he was also charged with four blown saves. When the 2023 Rule 5 draft pick was first placed on the IL, he shrugged it off, saying that he would be back in the minimum allowable amount of time. 'Just having a little bit of fatigue right now,' Slaten said at the time. 'I don't think it's anything super serious, but kind of had some stuff nagging for a little bit now, and think it just kind of caught up to me.' But on Tuesday, manager Alex Cora delivered some difficult news about Slaten's progress — or lack of it — unfortunately contradicting Slaten's earlier optimism. Advertisement Slaten's recovery has been 'slower than we expected, let's put it that way,' Cora told the media prior to Tuesday's game at Fenway Park. 'He hasn't reacted to treatment the way we expected.' As of Tuesday, Slaten remained shut down, meaning he had not resumed even light throwing activities. Red Sox World Series Champion Makes Bold Roman Anthony Prediction

Red Sox World Series Champion Makes Bold Roman Anthony Prediction originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Monday, the Boston Red Sox officially ushered in a new era by promoting Roman Anthony, one of baseball's most electrifying prospects. Advertisement The 20-year-old made his major league debut, going 0-for-4 at the plate but drawing a walk and driving in a run. Despite the modest stat line, Anthony's arrival has already generated significant buzz, with former Red Sox World Series champion Kevin Millar offering high praise. Boston Red Sox right fielder Roman Anthony (48) runs onto the field before a game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Fluharty-Imagn Images 'I smell greatness,' Millar said on Intentional Talk. 'This isn't a fake number one prospect. I met him on March 1st. He and Marcelo Mayer came over, and they are the sweetest guys. There is a humbleness to them, and there's a projection that I look at.' Millar continues by highlighting the legitimacy of Anthony and the impact he will have on Boston. Advertisement 'When you're looking at a kid that hits balls 500 feet, and he's kind of sneaky hot. I'll be honest with you. I don't know if there's anything sneaky about him, but this young man is going to have a great career. I think when you have a team like the Red Sox right now, they need this energy.' Anthony joins Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell in Boston, marking the first time the club's highly touted trio of prospects is together at the major league level. For a team hovering around mediocrity and struggling to find consistent momentum, the promotion signals a shift toward the future — and a hope that youth can ignite a turnaround. Advertisement Anthony followed up his MLB debut by going 1-4 with a double and two RBIs in a 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Rays.
