Iran Establishes National Defense Council; Army Commander Warns of Ongoing Israeli Threats
Tehran – SABA: The Supreme National Security Council of Iran officially announced today the approval of the formation of a 'National Defense Council', reflecting an escalation in the country's military preparedness amid rising regional tensions—particularly with the Israeli entity. According to a statement published by Tasnim News Agency, the National Defense Council will be responsible for matters related to national protection, will focus on defense strategies, and will work to strengthen the capabilities of the armed forces. The statement confirmed that the council will be headed by the President of the Republic, and its members will include the heads of the legislative and judicial branches, senior commanders of the armed forces, and relevant ministries. Earlier today, Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, issued a warning stating that Israeli threats remain ongoing, emphasizing that the Iranian armed forces are at the highest level of readiness and will continue their defensive efforts with determination. Speaking before senior commanders of the Iranian Ground Forces, Hatami noted that 'the enemy has repeatedly attempted to harm the Islamic system through various conspiracies, but after witnessing the steadfastness of the Iranian people, it realized that its calculations were wrong and that it had made a major strategic error.' Yemen's Houthis claims Triple Drone Strikes on Israeli Targets
Sana'a — Yemen's Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for three coordinated drone attacks targeting strategic sites across Israel, marking a significant escalation in their military campaign linked to the ongoing Gaza conflict. According to Houthi military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the operations struck Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, and the port of Haifa, using unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Yemen. Saree stated that all three attacks 'successfully reached their goals,' describing them as part of the group's continued support for Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli military confirmed intercepting at least one drone over southern Israel, while local media reported explosions near key infrastructure sites. No casualties have been officially reported, but investigations are ongoing. These strikes come amid the Houthis' broader campaign to disrupt maritime traffic linked to Israel. The group has previously targeted commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait, warning that any company dealing with Israeli ports could face attacks.

Occupation kills 58 Palestinians since dawn
Gaza – Saba: Fifty-eight Palestinian civilians were martyred and dozens of others injured on Sunday in ongoing Israeli attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip since dawn, according to medical, local, and media sources monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba). Israeli enemy forces targeted aid distribution centers, neighborhoods, homes, and civilian gatherings across Gaza in what observers describe as part of a continuing genocide campaign since October 7, 2023. Seven Palestinians were martyred by Israeli enemy gunfire while waiting for aid in the southern Gaza Strip, and another was martyred after the Zionist army directly targeted al-Tineh aid center in northwest Rafah. Two Palestinians were martyred and others wounded in an Israeli enemy airstrike on humanitarian aid security personnel near the intelligence area in northwest Gaza City. Medical and civil defense teams recovered the bodies of 22 martyrs from al-Shuja'iya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City, including five martyred in a new strike on a civilian gathering in al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Elsewhere, 20 Palestinians were martyred and 44 injured when Israeli enemy forces opened fire on crowds waiting for aid at two distribution points in central and southern Gaza. Among them were: 9 martyrs west of Rafah, 6 on Salah al-Din Street in central Wadi Gaza, and 5 in al-Sudaniyya in northern Gaza. Three civilians were also martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a gathering in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in Gaza City. Earlier in the day, two Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli occupation strike on al-Amal School in Khan Younis's Japanese neighborhood. Meanwhile, a staff member of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was martyred and three others injured in an Israeli strike on the association's headquarters, which ignited a fire on the building's first floor. With U.S. and European support, Israeli occupation continues to wage a genocidal war on Gaza that has, to date, resulted in the martyrdom of 60,839 civilians—mostly women and children—and injured 149,588 others, according to a non-final tally. Thousands remain trapped under rubble or on roadways unreachable by rescue teams. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
