Ambitious Polish club make shock bid to sign Celtic star two years after £4m Parkhead move

POLISH club Pogon Szczecin want to take Celtic defender Maik Nawrocki back to his homeland on loan.
The 24-year-old was a bit-part player for the champions last season and made just three league appearances.

It took him until March to make his first start when he was thrown into the Old Firm derby in the 3-2 home defeat to Rangers.
He netted his first goal for the club in the 5-1 defeat of Aberdeen at Pittodrie in May, but faces an uncertain future under Brendan Rodgers.
And ambitious Pogon Szczecin, who finished fourth in the Polish League and lost their national cup final, have enquired about whether Celtic would allow him to go on loan back to Poland.
Celtic splashed out a reported £4 million to Legia Warsaw to land Nawrocki two years ago, but he would be too expensive for Pogon Szczecin to buy permanently.
And they will try to do business with the Parkhead side about a loan deal instead.
Meanwhile, TalkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham reckons Rangers decision to appoint Russell Martin will have Celtic "looking over their shoulders" this season.
The Gers took the plunge and made the 39-year-old former Southampton manager the choice to replace Philippe Clement and Durham was impressed enough by what Martin achieved by guiding Southampton to an unlikely promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs to give the move the green light.
Speaking to Celtic-daft breakfast host Alan Brazil, Martin said: "Listen, he did play for Rangers and by his own admission, he isn't exactly a Rangers legend.
"He wasn't brilliant there and only had a few games [17 appearances, scoring one goal].
"It isn't his playing career at Rangers that has got him the job, but he has an identity, he has a plan.

"I personally think he is going to need some money and I'm not sure that is there at Rangers.
"If he can get players in that suit the style he wants to bring in at Rangers he could have a big impact and Celtic possibly need to look over their shoulders."

Manchester City have won just four of their last 12 Premier League games against Tottenham Hotspur (D2 L6), though beat them 1-0 in their last meeting in February. They last secured consecutive league wins against Spurs between December 2017 and April 2019 (4). Spurs have won two of their last four Premier League games at the Etihad (D1 L1), more than they did in their previous 11 visits combined (D2 L8). Following their 4-0 victory last season, they're looking for consecutive wins away at Man City for the first time since May 2010. The last four Premier League meetings between Manchester City and Tottenham at the Etihad have produced 21 goals (9 for City, 12 for Spurs), with the away side netting at least twice in all four. The last side to score 2+ goals in five consecutive top-flight away games against Man City were Sunderland between 1980 and 2000. Since the start of April, Manchester City have picked up more points than any other Premier League side (26), and are the only ever-present side to remain unbeaten in that time (W8 D2).
