Long Island prosecutors are looking to seize a $1.2 million home on Fire Island from the accused boss of a long-running prostitution ring that allegedly operated two brothels across Suffolk County with help from a cop and a gym teacher, court records show.
The ritzy beachfront home is part of a $1.96 million civil forfeiture case filed against Frank Saggio, a 60-year-old convicted felon and admitted associate of the mafia, who claimed to have worked for all five major New York families.
The Ocean Beach property was paid for with money raked in through the illegal scheme, and purchased by a corporation controlled by Saggio using proceeds from a brothel in Holbrook, according to prosecutors.

Saggio, of West Islip, and his mistress, 32-year-old Dana Ciardullo, of East Meadow, were busted in October alongside Islip gym teacher Steven Arey, 54, and veteran six-time Suffolk 'Cop of the Month' George Trimigliozzi, 56, in a sweeping 58-count indictment accusing them of enterprise corruption and promoting prostitution, court records show.
'It is a sad day in law enforcement when a public servant is arrested,' Suffolk DA Ray Tierney said at the time of the arrests.
Saggio allegedly ran the brothels from October 2019 through June 2024.
Trimigliozzi and Arey acted as managers at the American Girls Spa location in Holbrook along Sunrise Highway, while Ciardullo ran the West Babylon spot inside an adult store known as Tunnel of Love, prosecutors said.

The crew allegedly forced the prostitutes to sign 'leases' for the rooms they worked out of — charging them $6,000 a month to work in Holbrook and $12,000 in West Babylon, but they weren't paid for their services and only earned tips, according to prosecutors.
The alleged ringleader used a shell company named after the Holbrook brothel's address, 6801 Sunrise Highway, to collect illegal payments disguised as 'rent,' court papers show.
Meanwhile, his wife, Lisa Piazza Saggio, was listed as the company's sole officer, but prosecutors claim it was just a front for Saggio himself.

In July 2022, Saggio unloaded the Holbrook property for $1.2 million — and within two months, dropped $1.25 million on a beach house at 24 Bungalow Walk, which prosecutors allege was part of a scheme to launder dirty cash from the brothel.
While prosecutors try to claw the house back, Saggio, Ciardullo, Trimigliozzi and Arey all still face criminal charges tied to the alleged racket.
All four have pleaded not guilty, according to court docs.

A huge mob surrounded a uniformed Department of Homeland Security official involved in a car accident outside a grammar school in Long Island on Tuesday after locals suspected they were part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement measures, according to a report. The driver of the black Nissan pickup truck was transported by EMS to an area hospital while the federal agent was taken by authorities in a black SUV to an area hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, Newsday reported.

Asa Ellerup, 61, said during an explosive interview in the upcoming Peacock docu-series, 'The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets' that she is convinced cops have the wrong guy — and that her 'wonderful' husband isn't the monster who killed and mutilated seven sex workers on Long Island over nearly 30 years. 'I know what bad men are capable of doing,' she told the show, which begins airing Tuesday. 'I've seen it, and I've heard it from other men. Not my husband. You have the wrong man.' Plane crashes near Connecticut airport, man and teen girl miraculously rescued from Long Island Sound wreckage
A small plane carrying a man and teen girl crashed into the Long Island Sound off Connecticut on Sunday and sank — but both occupants miraculously survived the harrowing ordeal with only cuts, authorities said. The six-seater Piper PA-32 went down near Thimble Islands about 10 minutes into its takeoff from Bridgeport around 10:30 a.m., according to federal officials and a Newsday report. Leading up to the crash, the occupants put out a desperate call for help and were directed to Tweed New Haven Airport, where they were told to go for an emergency landing, but they couldn't make it, the outlet reported. The plane went into the water near the town of Branford, and sank, while its occupants suffered minor injuries, including cuts on their hands and face and cold water exposure, the Coast Guard said in an email. The man, 41, and girl, 17, were taken to Stony Creek Pier for treatment by EMS personnel before going to Yale New Haven Hospital, the Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard took about 15 minutes to reach the crash site and got the two survivors out of the water with the help of a good Samaritan, a Coast Guard spokesman also told NBC Connecticut. The emergency call initially came over as a 'boat taking on water' before a dispatcher determined it was a plane sinking, Branford Fire Department Deputy Chief Jason Karpovich told The Post. The plane was underwater by the time fire officials reached the scene in one of their rescue boats about 25 minutes after the crash, he said. The Piper PA-32 is a six-seat, single-engine aircraft that is made by Piper Aircraft. More information about what caused the crash is not immediately known. The FAA is investigating.
