Cadbury fans running to grab discontinued 00s chocolate bar hailed 'best ever'
Almost two decades after it disappeared from shelves, an iconic Cadbury favourite popular in the 2000s has been spotted on supermarket shelves once more.
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Shortcake Biscuit bars were discontinued back in 2008, but now, they've been given new life.
Fans of the sweet treat have spotted it exclusively in B&M across the UK.
The snack made it into the New Foods UK Facebook group – and no doubt, chocolate aficionados took a moment to reminisce about its glory days.
'I used to love the UK version of this…it was lush,' penned Kat Palmer, while Charlotte Newbold said 'off to B&M I go!'
Meanwhile, Ruby Wren confessed that she used to 'love this one in the early 2000s,' adding that she 'missed it so much.'
Kelsey Daniels said 'I want 10 bars please!! This was my fave chocolate!!!!!', and Helen Macleod said it was the 'best ever' treat.
In fact, fans of the bar have been so dedicated to the cause that they even created a Facebook group. Their cause was simple: Bring Back The Cadbury Dairy Milk Shortcake Biscuit Bar. What a campaign slogan, hey?
Swiftly after learning of their return, Sheyy Jade ran down to B&M, posting a haul of four chocolate bars – and in the comments, Lydia Neave Hodgson admitted to being 'fully stocked up' already.
Naturally though, there's a catch. A spokesperson for Mondelēz International told MailOnline that these bars aren't sold directly by the UK branch, and that the B&M bars have come from another market.
To date, Cadbury also operates in Ireland, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Malta, and South Africa.
'We discontinued the similar Cadbury Dairy Milk Shortcake Biscuit bar in the UK in 2008 and we have no current plans to bring the product back,' they confirmed. More Trending
Metro has contacted Mondelēz International for comment.
That's not all that's been going on in the world of Cadbury favourites lately. Earlier this week, the confectionery giant announced it would be launching a brand-new chocolate bar.
Known as the Cadbury Twirl White Dipped, the new chocolate takes the iconic Twirl bar that everyone knows and loves and elevates it by dipping the swirled chocolate in a white chocolate coating.

The dipped Twirls are limited-edition and will only be available in limited quantities from June 2, so you'll want to try one while you can.
When Cadbury launched their Dairy Milk Biscoff bar, it was sure to be a match made in confectionary heaven.
The iconic OG of milk chocolate, combined with a caramelised biscuit that's reached God Tier status.
But fans were left 'disappointed' by the collab, saying that they 'couldn't really taste the Biscoff' and it had a 'grainy' texture.
The bar was perhaps not quite what snackers had in mind, with 'crumbs' of Biscoff nestled in the milk chocolate, instead of lashings of the popular spread.
But, before you head back to your Biscoff jar with a spoon, there's a delicious alternative you need to know about.
In the aisles of Lifestyle Editor Kristina Beanland's local Co-op, she came across Biscoff's own brand Milk Chocolate with Biscoff Spread.
It might not have a punchy name, but as a long-time Biscoff lover (she was a fan when it was simply a plastic-wrapped biscuit served with a cuppa), she was intrigued.

Emma Pascoe, took to Facebook to share her finds and what she did to get them. She wrote: "More £1 items at B&M! "I used the app to scan loads, but some were labelled on the shelf." The mum had found heaps of goodies for her daughters including LOL Doll accessories, craft kits and even DIY Taylor Swift crystal cushions - each for just £1. She even found a tabletop art centre with a whiteboard on one side and a chalkboard on the other. Another happy parent shared their haul of goodies too, writing: "My £1 b&m bargains! I used the app to find mine." They found two Sports Racer cars, Monster High bags, a toddler DJ set and a DIY jewellery kit in B&M. Once again, each of the items was just £1. However, parents will want to download the B&M app if they want to get the bargains themselves. 3 Checking the app will make sure you get a bargain Credit: Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group B&M launches their children's outdoor range which is perfect for summer - there's a £2 bargain that'll easily keep the kids entertained Many people noted the toys on offer were part of the usual two for £20 deal. While some were marked on the shelf as £1, others weren't, which makes the app even more handy. You can scan every product in store using the app and it will tell you if it's on sale even if it hasn't been updated on the shelves yet. The toy sale was shared on the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, which boasts more than 2.6 million members. How to save money at B&M Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app. The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label. Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play. Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page. You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen. Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check. If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price. You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner. Parents were eager to get their hands on the bargains after seeing others' hauls. One person wrote: "Great Christmas presents for some." Another commented: 'Definitely need to go and look." "I got a big trolley full as well," penned a third. Someone else added: 'I managed to get a cheap Barbie style speed boat for £1 but that was the only item left." More Bargains

Goodbye Dresses – These Milkmaid Tops Couldn't Be More Perfect For Summer 2025
Last year, milkmaid dresses - essentially, a wafty piece of material that would very much suit a wildflower meadow (think: the best Dôen dresses) - almost overtook the floral dress as summer's most popular throw-on-and-go item. This hot-weather season's update, however, is slightly less immersive, with a top version of the once-ubiquitous dress that utilises its boho credentials without looking as though you've lost your milking stool. Nicole Stark ©@nicolekimberleystark You can't escape the rise of milkmaid tops. As well as Dôen, whose entire 'tops' category right now is practically an ode to being an off-duty milkmaid (Kaia Gerber just wore its Traveler Top), high street brands have discovered the blouse in a big way ahead of summer (H&M, Nobody's Child, you name it). It's not hard to see the appeal. Even if you're not an outdoorsy person, and would rather not get up close and personal with anything of a bovine persuasion, the milkmaid top is tempting. Usually white and made of cotton with details along the lines of lace inserts, bow-tied closures, sheer panels and a general sense of lightness that makes them suitable for sultry temperatures (if only!), it's a top that goes hand in glove with summer occasions like meeting a friend after work for a park date (wine included). Kaia Gerber in Dôen's Traveler Top The trick is perhaps not going head-to-toe milkmaid, which is hard to avoid with the dress version. A milkmaid top, on the other hand, can be paired with a variety of lo-fi bottoms to balance out, or at least temper, its cottagecore leanings, something like knee-length denim shorts, a cargo skirt or even tracksuit bottoms. Lucy Williams ©@lucywilliams02 Of course, if you're fond of the look (and dipped your toe into the milkmaid dress trend last time round), no one's stopping you from teaming your milkmaid top with a lace skirt, bloomers or, following in the very stylish footsteps of Nicole Stark, a similarly wafty skirt. 1. Mango's New Collab Is With The Designer Loved By Rihanna And Kylie Jenner
Collaborations used to be few and far between but, these days, it feels as though one can't escape fashion partnerships. Aside from designers teaming up with high street brands, our favourite It girls of all time have even been lured to these affordable labels; Sienna Miller went to M&S, for example, Kate Moss to Zara. The latest collab to excite our interest, however, isn't from an It girl but rather the London-based designer who dresses them. Supriya Lele's debut at London Fashion Week was in 2019 and, since then, she has dressed the likes of Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Chung, Jean Campbell, Bella Hadid and Vittoria Ceretti. Now, she has created a capsule collection for Mango. Kylie Jenner wearing Supriya Lele Launching today, the collection is titled 'A Summer Reverie' and is, as a result, packed with the sorts of pieces you'll want to pack into your suitcase and wear throughout your holiday. Sheer maxi dresses, form-fitting minis, satin skirts and cut-out swimsuits are among the most glamorous pieces, all of which share the same sensuality as the collections from Lele's eponymous label. There's even a black knitted dress with feathered hem which bears a striking resemblance to a lilac style worn by Ceretti (supermodel and current girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio). Vittoria Ceretti in Supriya Lele This particular launch marks the debut of Mango Collective, a platform 'dedicated to celebrating the creativity and innovation of niche designers, bringing fresh perspectives to the fashion world,' according to Mango. Presumably, this will see more independent designers like Lele given a global platform, which can only be a win-win for the smaller brands at the heart of the fashion industry. Unfortunately, as with Mango's collaboration with Victoria Beckham last year (in which there was a dress Sienna Miller can't stop wearing), this collection only caters to UK sizes 6-12 which, considering the average national size is 16, excludes the majority of women. It's frustrating that a brand with so many resources at its disposal is unwilling to make the effort to create inclusive clothes that will make all women feel great; fashion's ability to make so many feel excluded is something I had hoped was changing. I did put this to Mango and received the following response from the brand: 'Mango has worked on inclusive sizing for a very long time, and includes sizes in a selection of clothing from its main collections that ranges from XXS to 4XL. For special limited edition collections such as Supriya Lele x Mango, the collection is very limited both in units and also in sale time, so Mango has also limited the sizing to its most commercial sizes to ensure the best outcome.' Nevertheless, Jada Langola-Walters, Grazia's social media assistant, tried on the collection to see what she thought of Supriya Lele's take on Mango. 'I love the sheer black maxi dress, although unless you are wearing it to a pool party on Ibiza, it's a pretty daring choice. Jada in the sheer black maxi dress 'Overall, I really like the collection, although one of my favourite pieces has to be the pink shirt, as it's probably the most versatile. It is long at the front so can be worn loose or tied with high waisted trousers or skirts – I feel like I could wear this over tank tops to work but then with a lace bralette for evenings out. The accessories are great, too – I am obsessed with the oversized bag, not to mention the jelly shoes.' Jada in Supriya Lele x Mango 1. Halterneck Sheer Maxi Dress 2. Pink Sheer Shirt 3.
