Greeneville 4-star Trey Thompson making official visit to Tennessee basketball
Thompson, a four-star forward in the 2026 recruiting class, is visiting from June 7-9. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward is the No. 131 prospect in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 4 recruit in Tennessee.

Tennessee offered Thompson a scholarship in September 2024. His recruitment gained momentum this summer with the likes of UConn, Indiana, Kansas, Stanford and Virginia offering him a scholarship.
Tennessee does not have any players committed yet in the early stages of the 2026 recruiting class.
UT signed five players in the 2025 class, which ranked No. 13 nationally.
Five-star prospect Nate Ament is the highest-ranked recruit in program history as the No. 4 recruit nationally. Tennessee signed four-star forward DeWayne Brown II and four-star guard Amari Evans in November. Three-star guard Troy Henderson signed in April. Henderson and Ament played AAU basketball together with Team Loaded 17U. French guard Clarence Massmaba signed with UT in late April.

Vols transfer guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie is a Greeneville native. Gillespie transferred to Tennessee from Maryland this offseason. He spent his first two years at Belmont.
Tennessee has 12 players on its roster for the 2025-26 season. Its only senior post player is forward Felix Okpara, while Cade Phillips, JP Estrella, Jaylen Carey and Brown all have eligibility beyond next season. Amaree Abram and Gillespie are senior guards.

ACC transfer pitcher commits to Tennessee baseball
Tennessee received a baseball commitment from the NCAA transfer portal on Wednesday. Former Virginia pitcher Evan Blanco committed to the Vols. The 6-foot, 205-pound left-handed pitcher appeared in 56 games, including 26 starts, for the Cavaliers from 2023-25. He recorded 161 strikeouts and a 4.17 ERA in 162.0 innings. Advertisement Blanco (12-8) allowed 177 hits, 33 doubles, three triples, 97 runs (75 earned), 19 home runs, 46 walks, two wild pitches, zero balks and hit 13 batters. He totaled 2,672 pitches, including 1,756 strikes, against 712 batters. Blanco is from Austin Preparatory School in Reading, Massachusetts. Henry Ford committed to Tennessee in June. He was one of four Cavaliers to start all 50 games, 34 in right field and 16 at first base, during the 2025 season. ACC graduate transfer commits to Tennessee baseball
Tennessee baseball received a transfer commitment from Duke following the 2025 season. Duke left-handed pitcher Mark Hindy announced his commitment to the Vols. "Can't thank Duke University enough for an amazing year," he announced. "With that being said, I will be using my final year of eligibility at the University of Tennessee. Go Vols!" Advertisement The 6-foot-4, 220-pound graduate student appeared in 26 games, all in relief, in his only season with the Blue Devils in 2025. Hindy (1-0) recorded 38 strikeouts and a 4.66 ERA against 128 batters in 29.0 innings. He allowed 24 hits, two doubles, three home runs, 15 runs (15 earned), 15 walks, one wild pitch, zero balks and hit four batters. Hindy transferred to Duke after playing at William & Mary from 2022-24. He totaled 73 strikeouts and a 3.75 ERA in 60.0 innings during the 2024 season with William & Mary.
