Auburn has one of the top quarterback rooms in the SEC with Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold, Stanford transfer Ashton Daniels, and true freshman Deuce Knight. Still, it does not hurt to plan for the future.
ESPN recently identified Auburn as one of the five programs actively recruiting quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The list, pieced together by Eli Lederman, points out that Knight is likely the future at the position, but identifies two quarterbacks currently at the top of Auburn's hot board.
(Deuce) Knight, No. 40 in the 2025 ESPN 300, is viewed as a future starter at Auburn. But his arrival has not kept the program from pursuing quarterbacks in the 2026 class. The Tigers hosted (Jaden) O'Neal, the Oklahoma pledge, for a visit earlier this spring and stand among the challengers to Ole Miss in the chase for (Landon) Duckworth, who will take his official to Auburn on May 30.
O'Neal pledged to Oklahoma nearly a year ago, but Auburn has remained active in their pursuit of him. The Tigers hosted O'Neal for a visit in April, where he praised the quarterback room and said he could see himself competing for the starting role on the Plains. O'Neal said in April that he planned to return for an official visit, but such a visit has yet to be scheduled at the time of this post.
Jackson, Alabama, native Landon Duckworth is also a hot target. Duckworth visited Auburn last weekend and was recently invited to compete in the Elite 11 this summer. Auburn is the lone in-state program in the mix for Duckworth, but it is believed that Ole Miss and South Carolina are the two leaders heading into the summer.
Although a quiet recruitment, Auburn is a top school for three-star quarterback Jackson Taylor of Thousand Oaks, California. On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Auburn a 43.5% chance to land Taylor, who visited campus as recently as April 6.
The quarterback position may not be the highest priority for Auburn this cycle, but Auburn fans can expect Hugh Freeze, Kent Austin, and the rest of the staff to continue recruiting the position as they continue to build Auburn into a College Football Playoff contender.

Long gone are the days where Notre Dame football's offense has been in question, as the Irish showed last year they can score with the best in the country. The Mike Denbrock-led offense scored 36.1 points-per-game last year, good for No. 10 nationally, and while they did lose some weapons, most notably quarterback Riley Leonard, there is plenty of returning talent that will carry this unit. Advertisement While the season is still a few months away, we are getting plenty of new information about the direction of the team and what to expect from the Irish in 2025. Find out below my top-5 offensive players for Notre Dame this fall as of early June. No. 5 - Quarterback CJ Carr There has yet to be a decision between Carr and Kenny Minchey, but you have to expect that Freeman will go with the higher upside player considering they both have virtually no playing experience. Carr was the No. 68 overall recruit in his class in the 247Sports Composite, while Minchey was No. 170 in the next cycle. Both are more than capable of running the Irish offense, but at this point with Steve Angeli no longer with the program, Carr is the frontrunner in my opinion. No. 4 - Wide receiver Jaden Greathouse The breakout is coming, especially after Greathouse showed the nation in the last two games of the College Football Playoff that he's a gamebreaking talent. He accounted for 13 receptions for 223-yards and three touchdowns, as he torched both Penn State and Ohio State. While the quarterback position is still a question mark, we know that Greathouse can make plays. Notre Dame will play him more in the slot, creating mismatches for him to exploit due to a player later on this list. No. 3 - Running back Jadarian Price Price was second on the team in rushing attempts last year, and averaged 6.2 yards-per-carry, which was just behind the team leaders. He scored seven times as well, and looks to be ready to take the next step this fall. While he will share carries with a player later on this list, Price still seems poised to top last year's impressive numbers. No. 2 - Wide receiver Malachi Fields While Fields wasn't able to practice with the Irish during the spring due to transfer rules, he's going to be a difference-maker this fall. Over the last two years he's caught at least 55 receptions, which would have been first on last year's Notre Dame team. His five touchdowns would have been first, as well as his 808 receiving yards. No Irish receiver has topped those marks since Kevin Austin in 2021, and there's not doubt in my mind that Fields is a much better player. No. 1 - Running back Jeremiyah Love This was an easy choice, as it should be. Love is one of the best players nationally, is getting plenty of pre-season love and could end up in New York after the season concludes. Coming off a year with 1,125 rushing yards with 17 touchdowns to go along with 237 receiving yards and another two scores, the Heisman talk is legit. Initial FPI rankings place Florida in College Football Playoff picture Florida's return to national prominence in 2025 appears likely, with DJ Lagway leading the offense. ESPN's recent relaunch of the College Football Power Index has the Gators among the top 20 teams in contention for an NCAA Championship. Florida sits at No. 18 on the 2025 College FPI with a 14.3 power index. ESPN projects the Gators to finish the 2025 season with a 6.4-5.6 record and gives UF a 68.2% chance to reach six wins (bowl eligibility). But Florida also plays the toughest schedule in the country, according to ESPN, which means a seven-win season could be enough to sneak into the playoffs. Florida's CFP odds sit at a surprisingly high 14.5%, and 0.7% odds to win the national championship are the 19th best. "FPI is a predictive rating system that estimates each FBS team's strength (in points per game relative to the national average) on offense, defense and special teams, making adjustments for starters lost, recruiting talent and other personnel changes," Paine reminds us. "Those numbers are then plugged into the schedule, and everything is simulated 20,000 times to track each team's odds of winning its conference, making the playoff and advancing through to the national title." FPI projects the SEC to send 4.6 teams to the College Football Playoff this year, with Alabama, Georgia and Texas being the strongest candidates. Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M make up the next tier of SEC teams, with South Carolina and Oklahoma on the outer edge. Florida is behind all of them, but a few key wins could change things. ESPN highlights an Oct. 4 matchup with Texas and the Georgia game on Nov. 1 as the most anticipated games on Florida's schedule, ranking Nos. 6 and 15 on the national schedule. The biggest reason for optimism is Florida being ranked inside the top 20 on both offense and defense. The Gators' 7.0 offensive FPI ranks No. 14 and is the result of a 27-spot jump over the offseason. On defense, a 6.4 rating is good for No. 16 in the country, one spot up from the last update.
