Duke's Jon Scheyer Gets Major Recruiting News on Four-Star Recruit
Duke enters the offseason fresh off a 35‑4 (19‑1 ACC) 2024‑25 campaign that culminated in a Final Four appearance under four‑year head coach Jon Scheyer.
While none of their starters from last season are returning, they are adding one of the nation's top 2025 recruiting classes, keeping them in contention for 2025-26.

Four‑star 2026 power forward Sebastian Wilkins of Brewster Academy, ranked No. 17 in ESPN's Top 100, will take his official visit to Duke on Monday, per 247Sports' Sam Kayser.
This comes after stops at Maryland and Texas A&M, joining a list of suitors that includes Alabama, Florida State, Iowa, and Boston College, among others.
In 34 games for Brewster Academy's national team in 2023‑24, he averaged 10.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.1 apg, 0.9 spg, and 0.4 bpg in 22.5 mpg, per MaxPreps.

On the flip side, you have Duke, which last season took home the ACC regular season and tournament crown.
As a No. 1 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament, they advanced to the Final Four, defeating Mount St. Mary's, Baylor, Arizona, and Alabama before falling to Houston.
With several key departures to the NBA Draft, including standout freshmen Cooper Flagg, Khaman Maluach, and Kon Knueppel, Wilkins' visit on Monday will be a critical step in Duke's pursuit of another national title run.

Notre Dame baseball loses its best player, catcher Carson Tinney, to the transfer portal
Notre Dame baseball loses its best player, catcher Carson Tinney, to the transfer portal It was a breakout year for Notre Dame baseball catcher Carson Tinney, as the sophomore is up for multiple national awards. Unfortunately he has made a decision that will make a major impact on the Irish, as Matt Freeman reports that he is going to enter the transfer portal. This is a huge blow to head coach Shawn Stiffler's rebuilding process, as Notre Dame looked like they had turned a corner late this year and it was going to bring a lot of momentum into the 2026 season. Tinney was absolutely dominant this spring, hitting .348 with 17 home runs, 53 RBI while slugging .753. He was the offensive leader for the Irish in all of those categories, along with some excellent play from behind the dish. Notre Dame still had rising juniors in Troy Reader and Davis Johnson along with rising sophomore Trent Hartman on the roster, but Tinney was clearly the best option for Stiffler. This isn't what any Notre Dame baseball fan wanted to see, but after narrowly missing out on the NCAA Tournament, it seems like Tinney wanted to play somewhere where he could make the postseason. Best of luck to Carson, but it's a sad day in South Bend.

Who could win MVP outside of Judge, Ohtani?
Who could win MVP outside of Judge, Ohtani? Yahoo Sports national MLB insider Russell Dorsey runs through some dark horse candidates for Most Valuable player outside of last year's winners. View more Video transcript Well, we're over a quarter of the way through the season and surprise, surprise, Aaron Judge and Shohe Otane are front runners for AL and NL MVP. Advertisement But in a world where we took those two guys off the ballot, who would the other contenders for the award be? Well, there are plenty of familiar names. In the National League, Freddie Freeman is having his best season since he won the MVP award in 2020. Kyle Schwarber has been the heart and soul of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Corbin Carroll is proving he is one of the best young dynamic superstars in all of Major League Baseball. On the American League side, Alex Bregman might be having his best season since he was runner for MVP in 2019. Max Freed has been as good as any starting pitcher in Major League Baseball and been exactly what the Yankees have needed. Advertisement And last but certainly not least, Kyle Riley is showing that he is the best catcher in all of Major League Baseball. Now, if things continue as they've been going, not only willhotani and Aaron Judge win MVP, but we will have back to back MVPs in the same league for the first time in MLB history.

Lexie Hull's Mother Sends Indiana Fever Message After Third Straight Loss
Lexie Hull's Mother Sends Indiana Fever Message After Third Straight Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Friday, the Indiana Fever fell, 85-83, to the Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, marking their third consecutive loss and second straight defeat without star Caitlin Clark. Advertisement Despite a late surge, Indiana could not overcome Marina Mabrey's 26 points and 18 from veteran Tina Charles, who propelled the Sun out of an early-season slump with a narrow victory over the short-handed Fever. Saturday morning, as the team's record slid to 2-4, a fan on X posted, "Lexie Hull you are our only hope. #MVP," pairing the message with a highlight reel of Hull's 36-point performance in Stanford's 2022 NCAA Tournament win over Kansas. Hull's mother, Jaime Hull, quickly replied: "Awww…. This was a great Sweet 16 game! She's definitely got it in the tank! @IndianaFever will figure it out. Trust in that." Hull starred at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington, before joining Stanford University in 2018. Advertisement As a freshman, she averaged 5.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game off the bench before blossoming into a key two-way contributor over her college career. In 2019-20, Hull averaged 13.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, earning All-Pac-12 Team and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honors. During her junior season in 2020-21, Hull averaged 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while helping the Cardinals capture the NCAA Championship. Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull (10).Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Selected sixth overall by Indiana in the 2022 WNBA Draft, Hull's stats have steadily increased over the past three seasons, coming off a 2024 campaign in which she averaged a career-high 5.5 points in 19.7 minutes across 34 games.
