Spanning seven acres, the new high-speed automated facility boasts a production capacity of 1,000 tonne per month, with modular capabilities that enable further scaling to 5,000 tonne per month. The Rs300-cr facility with four-year capital outlay is projected to create 6,000 new jobs, including 2,000 jobs on-site and an additional 4,000 across its extended supply and distribution ecosystem, underscoring the facility's potential as a local economic accelerator.

Centre to spend Rs300 crore in setting up 3 horticulture facilities in Maharashtra, says Chouhan
Pune: Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced that Central govt will set up three horticulture facilities for grapes, oranges and pomegranates in Pune, Nagpur and Solapur at a cost of Rs300 crore under its clean plants programme. These facilities among others will offer farmers healthy saplings for production of disease-free crops. "State has shown a path to the entire country by producing fine qualities of grapes, pomegranates, oranges, vegetables, and other agricultural produce. Centre will help the farmers increase production and get better returns for their crops," he said while attending an agri hackathon organised at Agriculture College in Pune on Thursday. Calling Maharashtra the horticulture hub of the country, the minister said during his recent visits to various states, farmers came up with complaints of not getting healthy saplings. "Some private companies are also providing saplings that appear to be healthy, but when the yield comes, some bacteria or viruses are found in them," he said. He said Centre will set up nine facilities across the country to boost horticulture production, of which three will be in Maharashtra. "The one in Pune will focus on grapes, while the facilities in Nagpur and Solapur will work on saplings of oranges and pomegranates respectively." Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, in his speech, said state govt will provide the necessary help to winners of Agri Hackathon so that they can convert their innovations into successful start-ups. "Climate change has affected agriculture production, and the use of technology can address the problem." Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and state agriculture minister Manikrao Kokate were also present in the event.

NMC's 300cr water supply infra project gets state nod
Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has received technical approval from state govt's apex committee for its Rs300 crore water supply improvement project. With this approval, the civic body will now finalize the tender process and appoint a contractor to commence the work. This project, which aims to enhance Nashik's water distribution network, is being implemented under central govt's Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme. The NMC will receive 50% of the funding from the Centre and will self-finance the remaining amount. The initiative involves six distinct works to improve the city's water infrastructure. A key objective of this project is to significantly reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW) from the current 45% to less than 20% upon completion. An NMC official, while talking to TOI, said the tender process for the project was carried out and a contractor was finalised for the project. "But after the technical approval of state govt, the work order is now to be given to the contractor concerned following the approval of the standing committee of the NMC. The proposal in this connection is soon to be tabled during the meeting of the standing committee that is to be held next week," the official said. The six works include Rs95.20 crore project for replacing existing water distribution pipelines that supply water from pumping stations to the filtration plants, and also the purified water from filtration plants to the elevated tanks. The existing old water distribution pipelines are also to be replaced with new ones in various parts of the city at a cost of Rs90.30 crore. "We will replace the old water distribution pipelines in all the six divisions, including 70% works to be carried out in four divisions — Panchavati, Cidco, Satpur, and Nashik East divisions — where water distribution pipelines were laid down around 20-30 years ago," the official said. Apart from this, the NMC will be laying new water distribution pipelines in various developing areas of the city like Adgaon, Makhmalabad, Pathardi, New Indira Nagar, among others. Around Rs89 crore is to be spent on laying the water distribution pipelines in the developing areas.

Uttarakhand Mining revenue crosses Rs1100 crore in FY 2024-25
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 24 (ANI): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Mining Department has earned a revenue of more than Rs 1100 crore in the financial year 2024-25. The Chief Minister himself gave information about this after the departmental meeting today. According to the CMO, this achievement is a befitting reply to those who believed that transparency and honesty were not possible in the mining sector. Uttarakhand has set such a record in the mining sector, which is not only important from the economic point of view, but has also become a living example of political will, administrative transparency and decisive decisions taken in public interest. A change has been seen in the politics and administration of Uttarakhand which can be called a policy revolution. Forget action against illegal mining, it used to get protection. But Chief Minister Dhami not only challenged this, but also established a 'corruption-free mining system' - that too with the help of technological innovation and a strong monitoring system. Uttarakhand's mining model is now a topic of discussion across the country. Other states are studying the mining model here and are working towards adopting it. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand has not only increased the state's revenue, but has also set an example of both policy and intention for a new India. In this race to earn revenue, Chief Minister Dhami ensured that there is no damage to environmental sensitivity and cultural heritage.
