
Sharjah Youth crowned champions of 16th Futsal League
This year's league reflects the Foundation's vision to support youth by providing a safe, motivating competitive environment that nurtures talent, instils sporting values, and prepares participants for promising local and international sports careers.
The finals were held at the Wasit Youth Centre Sports Hall, attended by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Yassi, Director of Sharjah Youth, Khaled Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, officials, parents, and a large enthusiastic crowd.
The event began with the UAE national anthem followed by a musical performance titled 'Sheikh Sultan' by the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy band. The first decisive match saw Khorfakkan Youth beat Al Dhaid Youth Centre 4-1 in the under-15 category. The under-18 final featured Wasit Youth defeating Khorfakkan Youth 4-3 on penalties after a closely contested game.
The introduction of the 'Challenge Cup' this year raised the competitive spirit by allowing teams ranked fifth to eighth to compete in a knockout format. This expanded the tournament to 62 matches, highlighting the league's high level and diversity of skills. The Challenge Cup winners were Thameed Youth Centre (first place) and Mleiha Youth Centre (second place) in the under-15 category, and Dibba Al Hisn Youth Centre winning the under-18 category with Al Madam Youth Centre as runners-up.
Individual awards celebrated outstanding players: Mansour Badr (Khorfakkan, under-15) and Yaseen Abdulhamid (Wasit, under-18) won best player awards. Best goalkeepers were Mohamed Adel (Khorfakkan, under-15) and Omar Al Hantoubi (Khorfakkan, under-18). Top scorers were Omar Ahmed Al Rukibi (Wasit, under-15) and Abdullah Khalifa (Al Madam, under-18).
This edition reaffirmed Sharjah Youth's status as a leading platform for nurturing a skilled, sportsmanlike generation that embodies the values championed by the Quarter Century Foundation.

Ajman Ruler pardons 225 prisoners ahead of Eid Al Adha
Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 225 prisoners who have demonstrated good conduct during their sentences in punitive and corrective institutions in the emirate, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
