A major events business in North Wales has been bought. Run 4 Wales Ltd (R4W) announced it has acquired Always Aim High Events Ltd in a move that sees the mass-participation event organisers join forces across Wales.
Always Aim High, based in Llanberis, was established in 2011 and includes a portfolio of well-established races, including the iconic Slateman, Snowman and Sandman triathlons and the Snowdonia Trail Marathon Eryri.
R4W is a not-for-profit social enterprise and charitable foundation set up to promote, manage and deliver major sporting events. Established in 2012, it has grown into one of the UK's best-known mass participation event organisers. Its portfolio includes the Cardiff Half Marathon and Newport Marathon Festival, with surpluses invested into grassroots sport and community projects through the Run 4 Wales Charitable Foundation.
Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, said: 'We're so proud to welcome Always Aim High Events into the Run 4 Wales family, which will see us expand our reach right across the country, delivering Wales's most iconic mass participation events from bases in Cardiff and now from the new Always Aim High Events office in Llanberis.

This next chapter will also deliver a significant economic boost to the events sector here in North Wales.

The organsiations have worked alongside each other for a number of years as part of MSO Cymru, a group of mass participation sporting event organisations that collaborate on best practice within the industry. However, this new partnership will allow for even greater collaboration to help enhance event delivery and participant experience.

A luxury hotel in the heart of Glasgow is celebrating a major industry accolade after being crowned Scotland's Best City Hotel at the 2025 Prestige Scottish Hotel Awards. Despite only being a part of Scotland's biggest city for two years, the 179-room spot has been praised by punters and industry experts alike. The public-voted awards, backed by a panel of judges, highlighted outstanding service and guest experience from across the country. In addition to its win as Best City Hotel, the four-star Sandman was also Highly Commended in the Best Pet Friendly Hotel category, a nod to its warm welcome for guests travelling with their furry companions. The hotel shared the news with its followers on social media, writing: 'We're overjoyed to announce that Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel has been named Scotland's Best City Hotel at the 8th Annual Scottish Hotel Awards 2025! Part of the Canadian-owned Sandman Hotel Group, the Glasgow property is the brand's fourth in the UK, alongside Aberdeen, Newcastle, and London Gatwick. The Glasgow site has quickly made its mark. Set within the iconic Pegasus House, the hotel underwent a four-year transformation before opening. Today, it features 179 stylish rooms spread across ten floors, with modern touches and premium facilities designed for both business and leisure travellers. Guests can enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, a well-equipped fitness centre, and two event spaces. It's also home to the popular on-site restaurant CHOP Grill & Bar, a sleek steakhouse and bar that's become a hit with both hotel guests and locals alike. Principality Building Society Named Headline Sponsor of Pride Cymru for Third Consecutive Year

Wales' largest not-for-profit LGBTQ+ group, which this year celebrates its 26th anniversary of advocating for inclusion and equality, is set to host the annual weekend event from June 21 in Cooper's Field, Bute Park, Cardiff. The event is expected to attract over 50,000 people to the city, with the parade at the heart of the celebration, bringing together thousands of individuals to march in solidarity and pride. Principality Building Society, Wales' largest, recently announced their long-term commitment to high streets and the community until at least 2030. Principality colleagues will join the march and branding will be visible across the event as the organisation continues their commitment to being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and to creating a fairer society. Principality plans to further support Pride events across Wales, including the return of Cardiff Half Marathon's Rainbow Roundabout at this year's event on Sunday October 5. The roundabout, which participants pass twice between miles 10 and 12, gives runners a boost of a vibrant and colourful atmosphere.
