3-Star offensive lineman decommits from the Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners have seen a significant increase in the 2026 recruiting class over the last month, adding seven players since May 13. Ahead of a huge weekend with the ChampU BBQ, though, the Sooners saw a commit flip his pledge.
Three-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy flipped to North Carolina on Wednesday morning. Conroy initially committed to the Oklahoma Sooners back in December of 2024. But it's Bill Belichick who gets the IMG Academy prospect instead.
The Sooners added a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Noah Best last week and are in a good position to land four-star offensive lineman Deacon Schmitt. Oklahoma has a young group of interior offensive linemen on campus. Heath Ozaeta, Eddy Pierre-Louis, Daniel Akinkunmi, Ryan Fodje, Owen Hollenbeck, and Sean Hutton make up a strong group to lead the Sooners into the future.

2026 4-star LB out of Carthage (TX) has announced his commitment date

Last weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted 15 elite prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. Over the past five days, the Aggies landed commitments from three-star athlete Kaeden Johnson, four-star offensive lineman Samuel Roseborough, and on Tuesday, four-star running back KJ Edwards chose the Aggies over Texas in one of the more shocking moves of the summer. All three prospects visited last weekend, resulting in commitments, so it's fair to say that Elko and his staff have built an impressive foundation that led to three of the program's early 2026 commits, led by four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, shutting down their recruitment over the last two weeks. Ahead of 2026 five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington's commitment on Thursday, one of the top linebacker prospects in the cycle, four-star DaQuives Beck, took his official visit to Texas A&M last weekend, and has announced his commitment date, which will take place on Tuesday, July 1. After receiving an early prediction to land with Texas A&M, it's also notable that Beck is teammates with KJ Edwards at Carthage High School, and will choose between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and the Aggies. During his junior season at Carthage (TX) High School, Beck was named Defensive MVP of the Texas 4A D-II state championship, recording 10 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in an impressive performance. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle According to 247Sports, Beck is currently positioned as the 159th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 9th-ranked linebacker, and the 23rd-ranked prospect in Texas. Son of Oregon football legend commits to Oregon State Beavers

Son of Oregon football legend commits to Oregon State Beavers Over 30 years ago, Kenny Wheaton scored, and in a sense, helped turn around the trajectory of the Oregon Ducks football program with his legendary pick-six against the Washington Huskies, memorialized simply as "The Pick." Now, his son, Kai Wheaton, is going to have a chance to score, too. However, he will be trying to do so as a member of one of the Ducks' biggest rivals. On Wednesday afternoon, Wheaton announced that he was officially committing to the Oregon State Beavers. As a 3-star recruit rated by the 247Sports composite as the No. 1,218 player in the class, Wheaton will now suit up in the black and orange and play in Corvallis for the start of his college career. Wheaton stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. While Kenny Wheaton is undoubtedly happy that his son will be continuing on the family legacy and playing D1 college football, it's fair to think that there was a conversation or two about why the Beavers were the ultimate choice. Wheaton also had offers from the Houston Cougars, California Golden Bears, Arizona Wildcats, Memphis Tigers, and Colorado Buffaloes.
