2026 4-star LB out of Carthage (TX) has announced his commitment date
Last weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted 15 elite prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. Over the past five days, the Aggies landed commitments from three-star athlete Kaeden Johnson, four-star offensive lineman Samuel Roseborough, and on Tuesday, four-star running back KJ Edwards chose the Aggies over Texas in one of the more shocking moves of the summer.
All three prospects visited last weekend, resulting in commitments, so it's fair to say that Elko and his staff have built an impressive foundation that led to three of the program's early 2026 commits, led by four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, shutting down their recruitment over the last two weeks.
Ahead of 2026 five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington's commitment on Thursday, one of the top linebacker prospects in the cycle, four-star DaQuives Beck, took his official visit to Texas A&M last weekend, and has announced his commitment date, which will take place on Tuesday, July 1.
After receiving an early prediction to land with Texas A&M, it's also notable that Beck is teammates with KJ Edwards at Carthage High School, and will choose between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and the Aggies.
During his junior season at Carthage (TX) High School, Beck was named Defensive MVP of the Texas 4A D-II state championship, recording 10 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in an impressive performance.

According to 247Sports, Beck is currently positioned as the 159th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 9th-ranked linebacker, and the 23rd-ranked prospect in Texas.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Defender Cesar Montes scored twice in a six-minute span in the second half and defending champion Mexico struggled early but managed to get past Suriname 2-0 on Wednesday night to secure a spot in the knockout round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Montes opened the scoring on a header off a corner kick in the 57 and added another goal in the 63rd minute for the Mexicans, who defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 in the opening match of the tournament. With three goals in the tournament, the 28-year-old defender, who plays for Lokomotiv of Moscow, currently shares the scoring lead with Costa Rican Manfred Ugalde. Montes had scored only once in his 53 previous national team games before to the Gold Cup, in a friendly match against Panama in June 2021. With the win, Mexico leads Group A with six points and will play Costa Rica next Sunday in Las Vegas aiming to secure the first place ahead of the second round. The Mexicans lead the Group on goal difference and will secure the top spot with a draw. The Costa Ricans defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1 earlier for their second win of the Gold Cup and also qualified for the second round. Suriname and the Dominicans are eliminated. Gray resumed throwing off a mound last week as he works his way back from a fractured right wrist suffered in mid-March. Gray will throw three more bullpen sessions before facing hitters. The right-hander is expected to return as a starter for the Rangers, though there was some talk during Spring Training about moving him to the bullpen, so his role could ultimately depend on the team's needs at the time of his return. Garcia capped Kansas City's four-run third inning with a three-run drive for his career-best eighth homer. He also tripled in Bobby Witt Jr. in the eighth. The Royals have taken the first two in their three-game set at Texas following an 0-6 homestand that matched their longest losing streak of the season.
