Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council and Premise Health Celebrate Grand Opening of Kansas City Wellness Center

Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council (MACRC) and Premise Health, the leading direct health care provider for employers and unions, recently celebrated the grand opening of the Carpenters Wellness Center in Kansas City. The center provides convenient access to care for more than 4,750 union members and their families covered under the Carpenters Health Plan, administered by Mid-America Carpenters Regional Benefits Services.
'The opening of the Carpenters Wellness Center is the culmination of careful planning and cooperation by organizations intent on providing the type of care that hardworking men and women deserve: high quality and accessible, without surprises,' said MACRC Regional Director Rocky Kloth. 'We're incredibly fortunate to be able to provide excellent care for our members and their families, upholding our commitment to helping them achieve a lifetime of better health.'
Located at 8965 E. 38 Terrace, the Carpenters Wellness Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person visits. Current members, retirees, and dependents, starting at two years of age, can schedule same or next day appointments with no out-of-pocket cost for care.
The onsite care team is made up of six full-time, licensed Premise providers, treating members through high-quality services such as primary and preventive care, provider dispensing, pediatrics, behavioral health, chiropractic care, and x-ray imaging. Nursing triage support is also available after hours for members with non-traditional schedules requiring overnight access.
'We are honored to open this wellness center to provide access to care for more union members and their families,' said Premise's Chief Executive Officer Stu Clark. 'Premise and the Carpenters align on the common goal of helping their members get, stay and be well, and this new wellness center further extends the opportunity to achieve better health for so many hardworking families.'
Since 2018, MACRC has partnered with Premise to provide low-cost, high-quality care for union members and their families. Amidst national efforts for greater unionization and benefits expansion in recent years, the partnership between Premise and MACRC has continued to evolve and flourish.
