Duke quarterback commit explains why he picked the Blue Devils
Terry Walker III has been committed to the Duke Blue Devils since April and he is currently representing them at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles. The three-star quarterback is competing to be crowned the MVP of the prestigious quarterback competition.
Tom Loy of 247Sports asked about why he committed to Duke, and he quickly pointed out the culture and success quarterbacks have had under offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jonathan Brewer.
"It's a great culture," he explained. "When you go there, it just feels like home. I mean, talking with other guys that have been on the officials already, everybody's enjoyed their official. It just feels like home to everybody. And then Coach Brewer's done a great job with quarterbacks in the past. He had Kevin Jennings at SMU, who turned out to be great. When he pulls up that PowerPoint and shows you the guys that (he's coached), and tells you that you're going to be on that PowerPoint one day, like you're going to be their next guy. It's hard to pass up, they throw the ball downfield a lot. You know, Maalik Murphy had a great year with them, record-breaking year. Off the field stuff, just being at a prestigious school like Duke where academic-wise, it's probably one of the – if not the best non-Ivy League in the country, then one of the top three at least. So it's just a great school to be at and great people. It's just – it's a hard opportunity to pass up."
Walker is coming off his first season as the full-time starter at Lawrence Central High School. In 10 games, he completed 46.3% (95-205) of his passes for 1,467 yards and 17 touchdowns against three interceptions. He also rushed the ball 48 times for 377 yards and four more touchdowns, averaging 7.9 yards per carry.
With limited reps, and a 46.7% career completion percentage, Walker was a bit of an unknown at the event, but he impressed Andrew Ivins, 247Sports Director of Scouting.
"We weren't sure what to expect from Walker as he's less than a 50 percent career passer, but he ended up being arguably the biggest surprise of the night. Walker showcased the ability to make advanced throws and tied Henderson with the best spin rate on the balls that were tracked. He might be a longer burn, but something is there."
Walker is ranked as the No. 788 overall player and No. 45 quarterback in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is the No. 9 player from Indiana.

Ohio State coach Jake Diebler, former players, praise family culture, expectations at OSU
Ohio State coach Jake Diebler, former players, praise family culture, expectations at OSU The Ohio State basketball program welcomed in some former players for "Vet Week" over the last few days. It's been a great opportunity for the current players on the roster to connect with some of the legends and players that have donned the Scarlet and Gray in the past for some teaching, competition, and camaraderie. One of the things those close to and inside the program always appreciate is the expectations and the family culture through the years. It's clear that the expectations haven't been met over the last decade or so, but head coach Jake Diebler is trying to change that. One thing that has not waned is the family atmosphere, hence all of the former guys coming back to the banks of the Olentangy to be a part of this week. On Thursday, Diebler and the former players spoke to the current roster to let them know about being a part of an extended family and where the program should be going forward. It was a tough love type of moment, especially when the players talked. "The family part of this program is one of my favorite things. It's real," Diebler said. "When we're playing in -- I don't care where -- there's going to be former players in the building and always watching. Their care level is elite. Care just as much as these guys care, because if you do, we'll do something special ..."Many of the guys right here are the ones that put those numbers (accolades) on the wall. You getting to wear Ohio State is the privilege of a lifetime. And our job is just to hold you to that standard." You can watch the rest of the messaging, including guys like Scoonie Penn, D'Angelo Russel, and JJ Sullinger looking to hold the team accountable. Here's to hoping all of this messaging, optimism, and hard work translates to more wins this season, one that results in some of those special things Diebler and the former players were talking about. BOOM! Ohio State football lands 4-star linebacker for 2026 recruiting class
As things were trending, the Ohio State football team got positive recruiting news on Thursday when 4-star 2026 linebacker Cincere Johnson announced his commitment to the Buckeyes. Out of Cleveland Glenville High School, Cincere seemed to be an OSU lean all the way, but in today's day and age of NIL money and all, you just never know. In the end, the pull to play for the Buckeyes and James Laurinaitis proved to be enough to land the priority target. Advertisement Ranked as the No. 8 edge defender and 71st overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Johnson is being recruited as a linebacker and should fit the room nicely. Ohio State won over Johnson over the likes of Alabama and Penn State to stay at home and continue the Glenville pipeline from Cleveland to Columbus. Johnson brings versatility and size to the program at 6-foot, 3-inches, and 240-pounds. He can run and tackle, but can also come off the edge on a pass rush when asked to do so. His commitment brings the 2026 class up to 16 members as the No. 3-ranked class currently in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings. Ohio State is still putting the final touches on its 2026 class, and you can bet that there will still be some more news in the near future on players that commit to this year's cycle. As things happen, we'll bring the news to you.
