Luke Littler makes bold World Cup venue call after savage boos in Frankfurt
The World Champion hopes for a change in the future after being hounded in Frankfurt
Luke Littler says he hopes the Darts World Cup venue is moved after he suffered savage flak in Frankfurt.
The Wold Champion and his team-mate Luke Humphries was hounded by home fans during their nightmare opening-game loss to hosts Germany.
Littler says the overreaction to defeat was crazy with accusations of lack of togetherness between the England duo and legend Dennis Priestley stating the pair had let their country down.
The Nuke had his say on the matter during build-up to the US Darts Masters and, speaking to Online Darts, stated: 'Crazy. Didn't turn up at the same time, didn't sit next to each other but I'm sure I saw Luke's interview before we do our own thing, I don't want to go to the venue four and a half hours before. That's how much time he needed. For myself I need two and a half hours. We didn't click but I'm sure we will be back again.
'Germany played two group games, they were ready. But for myself, totally new stage, atmosphere. We knew what was coming. It didn't happen. But let's hope they move venues.'
Littler's reaction came in the wake of colleague Humphries also taking time to give reasons behind the preparation and the notion that there was anything sinister in the fact the English dup didn't sit or practice together.
Cool Hand said: 'There was a lot of talk about me and Luke not being a team. Coming from the horse's mouth, I can assure you we were a team. We didn't arrive at the same time because I said not to. I told Luke: Do your own thing. He gets there two hours before, I get there four. I need more practice, he doesn't. I said to Luke just do what you do, don't change for me.
"We sat right by each other. He sat right beside me. So that stuff about not being a team was not true. We get along really well. It just didn't happen and that's it. That was the whole agreement. We didn't play horrifically, it just wasn't our best.'
Littler is hoping to land the prize in New York and said: 'Obviously, I want to pick up another World Series title before the Finals, but the Matchplay, it didn't go to plan last year. The crowd last year were unbelievable.
'I've come a long way. There's still so many years. But the opportunities I'm getting at the minute coming to Madison Square Garden, it's unbelievable. It's growing in the States but I'm sure we will fill this in a few years to come.
'Last year was more of let's go and win the European titles, win the ProTour titles, the Premier League. I just wanted to say to everyone who said it was a fluke, shouldn't be ready for the Premier League and went onto win it. This year has been good so far, the Premier League didn't go to plan. Can settle and look forward to the second half of the year.'

Great news for sports fans as booze ads ban AXED sparing fans a ticket price hike and boosting investment in grassroots
PLANS to ban alcohol sponsorship at sporting events have been axed — sparing fans ticket price hikes, The Sun can reveal. Health Secretary Wes Streeting has ruled out barring booze firms, it is understood, to the relief of football, rugby and tennis chiefs. 2 The Premier League agreed a four-year mega-deal with Guinness last season while ABK Beer backs October's Rugby League Ashes. Dropping the 'nanny state' ban will also boost grassroots sport, as cash trickles down from the elite levels. One senior Tory said: 'Sponsorship helps keep football tickets affordable and grassroots sports alive. 'You don't drive harmful drinking down by banning adverts, you just hit fans in the pocket.' However, partial restrictions on alcohol ads will form part of a ten-year NHS plan out next week, it is believed. They may be outlawed before the 9pm watershed in line with junk food and drink as ministers try to tackle growing health problems. Junk food ads are to be banned between 5.30pm and 9pm from October. We told yesterday that more than half of Labour voters opposed an ads ban by meddling ministers. Fury as cost of 12-pack of beer set to soar by £1 thanks to sinister new tax brought in by Labour 2

Benjamin Sesko asking price changes again after Arsenal's transfer concerns
RB Leipzig have privately decided to drop their asking price for Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko. Arsenal have explored deals to sign Sesko and Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres as they attempt to bring in a new centre forward to spearhead their Premier League title challenge next season. The Gunners have held talks with Sporting over a move for the Sweden international and have seen an initial proposal worth €55 million (£46.8m) plus a further €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons turned away. The club are still to make any offers for Sesko at this stage but the Slovenia international is believed to be Mikel Arteta's preferred option out of the two. Earlier this month, it was reported RB Leipzig were demanding a fee between €80m and €100m (£68m and £85m) for their striker – a price Arsenal have been unwilling to meet. With no movement for a number of weeks, Bild report Leipzig are already backing down over those demands, reporting €70million (£59.7m) is a more realistic price. Arsenal's interest in Gyokeres meanwhile has been complicated by a tense stand-off between the club and player. The former Coventry City star is demanding to leave this summer, believing promises have been broken over the fee he can leave for. In contrast, Sesko's agent recently revealed they will not attempt to force a transfer away this summer. Asked about rumours he is pressing Leipzig to lower their demands, Elvis Basanovic said: 'This is far from truth. 'We respect RB Leipzig and I am 100% convinced RB Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step when we decide to do it. More Trending Man behind viral video of fight at Ibiza hotel pool is a pro-footballer 'Even if there may be – or will be – a strong desire of the player to move to a certain club, we will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig. 'I believe this is not the right way, because the way you actually exit from the club shows your values. Values that you are bringing into a new club. 'I can understand in very big transfers, there are a lot of different interests but no matter what, I believe in football world should be more respect. 'So that's why we do things in the right way or we don't do them. It's very simple, even maybe in the media it looks very complicated.'
