70s rock legend Dave Edmunds is fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a major cardiac arrest.
The performer, 81, known for his 1970 Christmas No1 I Hear You Knocking, is said to be in intensive care following the medical emergency which has left him with brain damage.
In an emotional Facebook post on Tuesday, Dave's heartbroken wife Cici shared the shocking news and describes the horrific moment her husband 'died in my arms', before being revived by medics.
Going into detail about the incident, Cici wrote: 'Dave Edmunds. My beloved husband of 40 years has had a major cardiac arrest as I told you about in my previous post. He died in my arms while I desperately tried to keep him alive while trying to clear his airways from all of the fluids that come out of a human beings body when we pass away.
'As I'm on the floor with Dave dead and lots of fluid is coming out of his mouth and the other places in his body. I keep my emotions in check ,even though I'm absolutely heartbroken and terrified at the shock of having my beloved husband dead in my arms.
'My nurse is also on the floor right next to myself and Dave pumping away really hard performing heavy CPR. She shouts out Cici I'm gonna stop, Dave is gone. He is dead Cici. I refuse to give in or give up on a miraculous intervention anything to get my husband back alive.'

Billie Piper breaks silence on ‘emotional' return to Doctor Who

Billie Piper has spoken about her "last-minute" appearance in the Doctor Who season 15 finale, where she seemingly replaced Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor through regeneration. Piper described the filming as "very emotional" and noted the "cloak-and-dagger" secrecy surrounding her involvement. She expressed her deep affection for the show, saying she could not refuse the opportunity to return to the "Whoniverse". Piper previously played Rose Tyler, companion to the Ninth and Tenth Doctors, and returned for the 50th anniversary episode in 2013. Gatwa previously explained his departure from the programme was due to the role's demanding nature, calling his exit "bittersweet".

Jessie J reveals she's been rushed to hospital with an infection and fluid on her lungs six weeks after undergoing breast cancer surgery

Jessie J has revealed she's been rushed to hospital with fluid on her lungs, six weeks after undergoing surgery for breast cancer. The singer, 37, has been recovering after following the operation, after revealing the cancer had luckily been caught by doctors 'early'. But taking to Instagram Stories on Sunday, Jessie revealed that she had been readmitted to hospital, and has since been told she has an infection. Sharing a photo from her hospital bed, Jessie shared a snap of an IV canula in her hand. In the post, she wrote: 'How I spent the last 24 hours. 6 weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned.' She went onto reveal: 'I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD. 'They ran a lot tests, which ended up showing I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs.' 'Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night (I hate being in hospital) and will continue the investigation as an outpatient.' The singer previously admitted she went into 'survival mode' upon learning of her cancer diagnosis, but is now letting herself feel angry and sad in equal measure. Sharing an Instagram post in June, she wrote: Jessie wrote: '2 weeks post surgery. Had my drain out 2 nights ago. She said breathe in and take a hard breathe out. She whipped that thang out so quick. Woii oii. Weirdest feeling. But so nice to have it out after 12 days. 'Now it's just me and my wonky boobs trying to figure out how to dress until I match them up. The left one is looking at me like "you ok babe?"'. She continued: 'Also my experience was when I was diagnosed I went into survival mode. 'There was so much going on with appointments and in my mind esp with a toddler I had just moved and was about to start this campaign after 8 years away. Mad. 'I didn't really have a lot of time to process what was happening or what was going to happen. So I'm currently experiencing some delayed sadness and frustration by having time to process what IS happening. 'A little disappointed in myself I didn't say goodbye to my old boob enough. Sounds silly but that's where I'm at. Again that's my journey. I'm sure others feel different. 'But for me I didn't think beyond the surgery. I was just being strong. Well now I'm here and letting myself be angry and sad and all the things. Just for a few days. 'Then I will sew some padding in a bra to even them out order some t-shirts and crack tf on'.
