Celtic can savour yet another fine season despite Scottish Cup agony... but here's why they must brace for a Rangers revival

Finally, the end of a hectic 2024/25 season – and time for managers and players to take a breath. The triumphs, the gala nights, the frustrations and disappointments.
In Celtic's case, success tempered by an unforeseen flavour of failure. For Rangers, 2024/25 was a campaign to quickly forget, especially in light of the club's new takeover by 49ers Enterprises. A US-style can-do attitude is about to shake Ibrox, a place awash with interesting times ahead.

JD Wetherspoon bringing back Brunch Burger for limited time

The Brunch Burger returned to Wetherspoon pubs across the UK for a limited time back in 2023 after a 10-year hiatus. It has made several brief appearances since then and is returning to menus again in 2025. But you'll have to be quick, as it will only be available for three days. The Brunch Burger will be available for one weekend only, so you'll need to be quick. (Image: JD Wetherspoon) Wetherspoon's Brunch Burger features a 100% British beef patty (6oz), American-style cheese, maple-cured bacon, fried free-range egg and topped with a hash brown made from 100% British potato. The meal includes chips, six beer-battered onion rings and a drink and will cost up to £9.99 (with a soft drink) and £11.52 (with an alcoholic drink). Wetherspoon's Brunch Burger has received high praise over the years, being described as "the best ever". One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "Brunch burger is the best." Another added: "Brunch burger: best burger ever!!!" "Brunch burger: best burger ever!!! Only £7,50 with a beer" @ The Montagu Pyke (Wetherspoon): #foursquare While a third person commented: "Wetherspoon's Brunch Burger - It. Is. ACEB***S! They should have called it 'Excelsior!'" The Brunch Burger will return to Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and the Republic of Ireland for one weekend only. The burger will be available on Father's Day weekend - Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15. The return of the Brunch Burger is not the only change made to Wetherspoon menus recently. In May, the pub chain introduced four new gourmet burgers to its menu: JD Wetherspoon launched four new burgers - The Big Smoke, Buffalo, BBQ Stack and Cheese Meltdown in pubs across the UK last month. (Image: JD Wetherspoon) Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: 'We are always keen to offer our customers the widest choice of good quality meals at value-for-money prices." There have also been various other additions to the pizza, small plates and pub classic ranges at Wetherspoon pubs across the UK. But it's not all been good news for customers, with several menu items axed by Wetherspoons last month. Ex-Celtic loan star Daniel Arzani ‘weighing up move to Premiership rivals' on free transfer

He revealed his time at Parkhead left him not feeling like a footballer anymore CHANGE OF HEART Ex-Celtic loan star Daniel Arzani 'weighing up move to Premiership rivals' on free transfer DANIEL ARZANI'S time at Celtic was an absolute nightmare. But the Australia international could be set for a second crack at Scottish football. 3 Daniel Arzani was stretchered off on his Celtic debut Credit: PA:Press Association 3 He's rebuilt his career back in Australia Credit: Getty Arzani, 26, joined Celtic on a two-year loan deal in August 2018. The move came just over a week after he had joined English Premier League giants Manchester City from fellow City Group club Melbourne City. Aged just 19 at the time, Arzani was a huge prospect. Unfortunately, injury would completely and utterly wreck his spell with the Hoops. Brendan Rodgers gave him his first team debut on October 31, 2018 in a Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee. He came on as a 57th minute substitute for fellow Australian Tom Rogic but would last just 21 minutes. Arzani suffered a horror injury, one that turned out to be a torn ACL. It kept him out for the best part of a year. Arzani fought back and returned to first team action in January 2020, appearing in a Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle. That would end up being his second and final Celtic appearance. Robbie Neilson Released by Rangers, finding a home at Hearts, and splitting the Old Firm A series of unfruitful loans followed, with Arzani spending time at Utrecht, AGF and Lommel. He left Manchester City in 2022 and returned to Australia with Macarthur FC. Arzani finally found regular football and after just one year with the club he moved to Melbourne Victory where he's enjoyed a solid couple of years. More than five years on from his Parkhead nightmare, Arzani could be set for another crack at Scottish football. ESPN's Mark Donaldson is reporting that he's weighing up a move to Hearts. Arzani is out of contract at the end of the season and would be available on a free transfer. New Jambos boss Derek McInnes has been busy bolstering his squad already and is keen to add depth to the winger position. Early last year, Arzani candidly opened up on his struggles in Scottish football. He revealed how his injury hell left him feeling like he "wasn't a footballer anymore." Arzani told A-League's All Access: "I was just in the gym and in the physio room so I didn't see the pitch for like five months. "I'm all the way on the other side of the world. I'm 19, I've moved here to play football. It's all I've done my whole life and I'm not getting a chance to do it all. "You see your friends, they're going out on the pitch every day. They're playing, they're playing well and you see everyone succeed and you're not even getting a chance. "I had a couple of unsuccessful loan moves and things weren't going to plan. I just felt like I was beating my head against a brick wall because I was working so hard to make things happen but it just wasn't falling into place." 3 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Ex-Celtic winger Daniel Arzani a transfer target for Hearts

Arzani signed for the Hoops on a two-year loan deal from Manchester City back in 2018 but it turned into a nightmare when he suffered an ACL injury on his debut against Dundee, which would turn out to be his only appearance. He had already broken into the Australia international team and showed enough at Melbourne City to persuade the Premier League giants to snap him up, but that injury was a real setback. Loans in the Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium helped slowly get his career back on track but it was a move back home with Macarthur that acted as a proper ignition. Hearts are looking to take advantage of that by signing him on a free contract, as reported by Hearts Standard. New manager Derek McInnes has already stressed the importance of wingers for the way he wants to play and it is an area in which they were extremely light last season. Greek wide man Alexandros Kyziridis has already been signed while they are thought to be close to adding Kazakhstan international Islam Chesnokov. Both of those are inverted wingers playing on the opposite side, while Arzani would give the option of a more traditional wide man, although he can also operate on either flank. He has played 64 times for Melbourne Victory and helped them to the A-League series final, where they lost to city rivals and Arzani's former team, Melbourne City.
