May 5—Austin Utilities has announced the retirement of Keven Maxa, engineering supervisor with 24 years of service effective June 30.
Maxa joined Austin Utilities in 2000 and has been the Engineering Supervisor ever since. Prior to his career with AU, Keven was employed at Owatonna Public Utilities for over 10 years in the Engineering Department.
"Thank you to Keven for his long-term career at Austin Utilities," said Mark Nibaur, General Manager at Austin Utilities. "We greatly appreciate his leadership to better serve our community. We wish Keven the best in his retirement."
During his tenure, Maxa has seen many changes in the engineering field, most notably how much the use of technology has increased both in the office and in the field.
Maxa has dedicated significant time to serving on numerous local and state boards. For 24 years, he organized the local Dig Safe meetings, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to utility safety. He served as president of the Prairieland Utility Coordinating Committee (PUCC) from 2004 to 2008 and again from 2012 through 2025. Additionally, he was an active member for the 216D Gopher One-Call Statue Review Committee from 2003 to 2025.
In his retirement, Maxa hopes to do a lot of traveling and check off some locations on his bucket list. He plans to visit all 50 states. He's also looking forward to spending more time with family.
"Keven has been a cornerstone and trusted resource at AU for many years," said Utility Operations Director Alex Bumgardner. "His dedication to continuously improving our infrastructure and his unwavering commitment to our customers will be deeply missed. We wish him a very happy next chapter in retirement."

PTX Metals Inc. Reports Further Highly Encouraging Drilling Results at Its W2 Cu-Ni-PGE and Gold Project

Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - June 3, 2025) - PTX Metals Inc. (TSXV: PTX) (OTCQB: PANXF) (FSE: 9PX) ("PTX" or the "Company"), a mineral exploration company focused on Cu-Ni-Au-PGE and Gold projects in Ontario, is pleased to release the following assay results from its Phase 1 of 2025 drilling program at the W2 Cu-Ni-PGE and Gold Project located in the Ring of Fire, northwestern Ontario, Canada (the "W2 Project"). Subsequently to the previous press release of May 27th, 2025, drill holes W225-08 and W225-12 are now being reported. Drilling has confirmed the presence of high-grade copper in multiple intervals above 1% Cu and consistent copper and nickel mineralization over broad widths in both drill holes W225-08 and W225-12. Additionally, drillhole W225-12 located in the CA2 zone of the Central Target, notably intercepted higher-grade palladium and platinum mineralization. This drill program has shown an improvement of both widths and grades from historical holes. Results from PTX's drilling include intersecting wide intercepts of encouraging grades near surface that continue to validate the potential of the exploration target issued last September, supporting a potential large bulk tonnage project. The results demonstrate a larger-scale system (~8 km in strike length) that encompasses the CA zones and the AP zones and a current goal to build a continuous system between CA1 and CA2 zones (see 3D geological model interpretation released on May 7th). Highlights - Drill Holes W225-08 and W225-12: Drillhole W225-08 intercepted a core length of 97.05m in the CA1 zone of near surface mineralization starting at 26.95m directly after the overburden. Drill hole W225-12, located in the CA2 zone 2.92 km to the East of CA1 zone, intersected 88.00m of sulphide mineralization demonstrating consistency of the mineralized body within the different identified zones. The highest grades by individual commodity in the two holes combined include: 1.80% copper, 0.74% nickel, 0.52 g/t gold, 1.05 g/t palladium and 0.55 g/t platinum and Cobalt 0.15% Drillhole W225-08 Drillhole W225-12 Table 1: Selected Results from drill holes W225-08 and W225-12. Intervals reported as core lengths. True widths are unknown at this time. To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: Historical drilling was selective in assaying for all commodities and selective sampling procedures occurred. As a result, the Company has systematically assayed for Copper, Nickel, Gold, Palladium, Platinum and Cobalt and is now not reporting using Metal Equivalents and seen substantial improvements in the widths of mineralization with these practices. Additionally, for simplification purposes, Cu+Ni (%) and Au+Pt+Pd (g/t) are reported below as the arithmetic sum of individual commodity per interval chosen. Individual grades by commodity are also shown in table 1. Drill hole Analysis and Images: Drillhole W225-08, drilled into the CA1 Zone, was designed to infill and as a step out of hole 54004-0 drilled by Inco to the south, which reported some of the highest copper grade on the property [1] and a wide interval of consistent Nickel grade. The target was successfully intercepted starting from surface below the overburden at 26.95m depth and with 97.05m of mineralization within the main interval. Drilling has confirmed the presence of high-grade copper in multiple intervals above 1% Cu with up to 1.80% Cu and Nickel ranging between 0.20% and 0.70% within the mineralized interval as reported in Table 1 and in Figure 2. Drillhole W225-12 was designed to infill and as a step out of 130m to the east of W225-11 previously reported on May 27th, 2025. Both of PTX's holes showed not only higher-grade intervals but also a significant amount of palladium and platinum, where high-grade of 1.05g/t Pd was assayed in hole W225-12. Overall, the polymetallic system including copper, nickel, gold, platinum, palladium and cobalt occurs within consistent and similar wide intervals as shown in Figure 3. Bill Gates pledges most of his $200bn fortune to Africa

American billionaire, Bill Gates says the majority of his wealth will be directed toward improving health and education across Africa over the next two decades. Bill Gates announced his commitment to donate a significant portion of his wealth, approximately 99% by 2045. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has already disbursed over $100 billion toward global development since its inception in 2000. Gates emphasized the potential of improving healthcare and education systems to unlock human potential and promote prosperity across African nations. American billionaire, Bill Gates says the majority of his wealth will be directed toward improving health and education across Africa over the next two decades. "I recently made a commitment that my wealth will be given away over the next 20 years. The majority of that funding will be spent on helping you address challenges here in Africa," he said in an address at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The 69-year-old philanthropist said that unlocking human potential through better healthcare and education could place every African nation on a path to prosperity. Last month, Bill Gates announced plans to donate 99% of his estimated fortune of $200 billion (£150 billion) by 2045, the year his foundation is expected to wind down its operations. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has disbursed over $100 billion since its launch in 2000 by Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates. Originally, the foundation was set to close 20 years after the Microsoft Corp. co-founder's death. Giving away 99% of his fortune could still leave the fifth-richest person in the world a billionaire, according to Bloomberg. Since the U.S. government reduced aid to Africa, including funding for HIV/AIDS treatment programs, under President Donald Trump's protectionist policy, there have been concerns about the future of healthcare across the continent. In response, Bill Gates said his foundation, which has long operated in Africa, will prioritize strengthening primary healthcare systems. He also urged young African innovators to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to transform health outcomes on the continent.
