Emergency services rush to Pollokshaws West train station

Police and fire crews were called to Pollokshaws West station, located on Pollokshaws Road, at approximately 11:30pm.
It has been reported that there was a significant emergency response, with three police cars and two fire engines present at the scene.

At this stage, the nature of the incident has not been officially confirmed.
ScotRail issued a statement on social media shortly after the incident occurred: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident in the Pollokshaws West area, and unfortunately, that means we can't run trains as the line is currently blocked.
"We're working closely with the emergency services to get the line reopened.
"Two buses have been requested, but nothing confirmed."
A later update from the train operator stated: "X1 Arays Bus will be on site at Glasgow Central for 12.45am, June 15.
"Please check your journey on our app/website or on JourneyCheck for live updates."
British Transport Police have been approached for comment.

Man tries to kidnap teenage girl in broad daylight

Osman Moalem, 25, has been sentenced to 27 months in jail for attempting to kidnap a 19-year-old student outside Liverpool Lime Street station on 28 October 2024. Moalem approached the student, said something unintelligible, and then tried to drag her away, Liverpool Crown Court heard on Friday. An elderly couple intervened and threatened to call the police, but Moalem continued his attempt, the court was told.
