Stefanie Sun performs to 50,000 fans at the Bird's Nest
18 Jun - Stefanie Sun recently kicked off the Beijing leg of her "Aut Nihilo" concert tour at the National Stadium (aka the Bird's Nest), where she performed to the tune of 50,000 fans. Performing at the venue for the first time in her 25 years of career, Stefanie is also only the fourth female singer to have ever been granted the chance to hold a solo concert at the iconic location. The concert also saw the attendance of stars like Michelle Chen, Chen Linong, Zhou Dongyu and many more, with the former writing, "I wanted to cry as soon as you came on stage. After all, you have carried my youth for so many years. Fortunately, there were fast songs, so I only cried for half of the show." It was understood that the concert was directed by Stefanie's music partner and music director Kenn C, and that the Singaporean singer herself participated in the whole process, from conception and arrangement to stage design. Stefanie also expressed her thoughts about performing at the iconic venue, writing, "It is hard for me to describe the experience of singing in the Bird's Nest. The sound in the venue was very consistent and surrounded me on the stage like waves. This is the moment when the singer is overwhelmed by the audience." "People outside the venue listened to the concert comfortably, drinking tea and eating snacks. They sang along warmly, occasionally shouting and humming. Though beyond my line of sight, we were all connected in that moment." Stefanie said that watching the videos from the concert was like someone was cutting onions next to her. Her next performance would be in Qingdao. (Photo Source: Stefanie IG)

Iconic '90s Singer, 56, Declares War on Time Itself: 'I Just Don't Believe in It.'
Iconic '90s Singer, 56, Declares War on Time Itself: 'I Just Don't Believe in It.' originally appeared on Parade. In a recent interview with Capital FM posted online Monday, Mariah Carey revealed she isn't just hitting high notes — she's skipping over calendars entirely. When host Jordan North asked, 'Is it true you don't acknowledge the passing of time?' Carey didn't hesitate to share her personal philosophy. 'That is true,' she confirmed. 'I just don't believe in it.' When North followed up to ask if she was referring to time zones, Carey quipped, 'No, just time.' Co-host Sian Welby then asked, 'So no clocks? Just not into that?' 'Yeah. No, just let it go,' Carey replied. As for Carey's well-known stance on birthdays, she touched on that too: 'I don't have a birthday, no. Anniversaries, yes,' she said. This isn't a new take for the pop icon. In a 2014 Out interview, she declared, 'I'm eternally 12 years old.' When asked about being a pop star for 25 years, she told the outlet, 'I don't count years, but I definitely rebuke them — I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling.' Now 56, Carey is applying the same logic to her music. Her latest single, 'Type Dangerous' (her first solo track since 2019), just debuted at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her 50th career entry. Technically, the chart milestone is dated June 21, 2025 — but Mariah likely wasn't watching the clock. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Iconic '90s Singer, 56, Declares War on Time Itself: 'I Just Don't Believe in It.' first appeared on Parade on Jun 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 17, 2025, where it first appeared.
