The mum of a young man who vanished without a trace is desperate for answers amid fears he may have met foul play.
Father-of-two Jayden Harwood, 20, disappeared after he went for a walk while visiting his girlfriend's family in Ingleburn, in Sydney 's south-west on March 1.
Witnesses claim he was going door to door begging for help before borrowing a phone to make a chilling final phone call to his mum and stepdad to say he had been attacked and needed directions back to his girlfriend's family home.
Almost 11 weeks on, there has been no sign of or contact from Mr Harwood since, despite extensive searches of surrounding streets and bushland.
NSW Police re-issued a public appeal regarding Mr Harwood's disappearance last Thursday.
It's understood detectives are now treating his disappearance as suspicious and have spoken to several 'persons of interest', Nine News reported.
His mum Alana Wallace believes someone knows what happened to her son, who missed his daughter's first birthday on Sunday.
'I need my son back, I need my baby back,' she said as she fought back tears.

'I need to know what's happened, why he's not here.'
Mr Harwood and his girlfriend had travelled from Newcastle to Sydney at the time of his disappearance.
His bank accounts remain untouched and his phone is switched off.
'If you have anything big, small, short or tall, please, please come forward,' his mother urged.
'I just want my beautiful boy home.'
Strangers in Sydney's south-west haven't given up the search and spend their weekends putting up posters and doorknocking.
'He's not just a missing person's poster to me,' local Brittany Wells said.
'He's a real person, he's got family that love him, children that love him, and he's wanted and needed.'
Ms Wallace previously told Daily Mail Australia she had put up her car as a reward in a desperate bid to find her son.
The concerned mum revealed how she received a disturbing phone call after her son went on a walk alone while visiting family with his girlfriend.
'It was a young man and his mum on the phone at first because Jayden had knocked on their door asking for help,' Ms Wallace told Daily Mail Australia.
'He was confused and he told us he had been assaulted and was hurt and didn't know how to get back to Jade's parents' house.
'That was the last contact ever made. He didn't say what exactly had happened or who had done it - he was really disoriented.'
Mr Harwood is described as Caucasian, 165cm tall, medium build, with short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with black logo across the chest, black shorts and dark coloured sneakers.
The young father is known to frequent the Ingleburn, Newcastle and Toronto areas and gets around via public transport.

Tragic end to search for hair stylist Jax Gratton who mysteriously vanished from Denver apartment

The search for a transgender hairstylist has come to a tragic end, as police located her body over the weekend. Jax Gratton, 34, was last seen at around 10pm on April 15, when her roommate said she told him she was heading out that night and would be gone for three hours - but never returned, Denver 7 reports. Her disappearance sparked a two-month long search around the Colorado city, as members of the LGBTQ + community feared she may have been targeted, according to 9 News. Gratton's mother, Cherilynne Gratton-Camis, also expressed her concern about her daughter's disappearance - telling PEOPLE that she had previously been in abusive relationships. Gratton-Camis then announced on Facebook Saturday that her daughter was found dead. 'With a broken heart, I share the news that our beloved Jax Gratton has been found - and she is no longer with us,' the grieving mother wrote on a page dedicated to finding the missing woman. 'There are no words strong enough for the grief we are feeling. The light she carried, the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought into our lives have been taken from this world far too soon.' Still, Gratton-Camis told Denver 7 she found comfort in learning that her daughter was wearing the same clothes she left in on the night of April 15 - suggesting she died the night of her disappearance. Her devastated mother announced the discovery on Facebook 'She didn't spend six to seven weeks in horrible situations,' Gratton-Camis explained, noting that she had received reports that Jax was being held captive and was being tortured. 'So knowing that wasn't true... brings me peace.' Lakewood police have not yet confirmed the body that was found in an alley Friday night is that of Gratton - only saying that it was in an advanced stage of decomposition when a bystander made the discovery. But Gratton-Camis said a detective at the scene told her he visually identified Gratton through her tattoos. 'I'm very thankful for that because I would be waiting weeks' for a confirmation, she said. Gratton-Camis had previously said she became concerned when her daughter did not reach out to the family over Easter weekend, which she said was 'unusual.' Gratton's coworkers at Solera Salon in Denver, where stylists manage their own schedules, also realized days later that she had not been coming into work. She completed her last appointment on April 12, but days later, she started missing scheduled sessions — something her friends said was completely out of character. 'It was when she was missing client appointments, especially certain clients who she is very close with, outside the salon, that we realized something wasn't quite right,' Brandy Carey, her manager and close friend, told KCNC-TV. 'We started communicating with each other -- 'have you seen Jax? have you seen Jax?' Everybody was like, "no, we haven't heard from her."' Gratton's cause and manner of death remain unclear, and are now the subject of a 'suspicious death investigation.' But in the meantime, her mother thanked community members for joining in the search for her daughter. 'I want to thank everyone - near and far- who has shown up for us,' she wrote on Facebook. 'Everyone who sent out a prayer, a hope, a kind thought. Everyone who hit the ground running and hasn't stopped.' 'This has opened my eyes in ways I can't ignore - it's not just about Jax - it's about all of you in the LGBTQIA+ community who face the world every day with courage, just wanting to live, love and exist safely and equally,' she added. 'That should never be a fight. And yet it is.' The heartbroken mother went on to call Gratton a 'light.' 'She lit up so many lives just by being herself. Unapologetically. Fiercefully. Fully,' she wrote. 'I see her in every act of love and strength you've shown and I wish peace, love and protection for all of you.' Gratton-Camis also told Denver 7 she wants her daughter to be remembered as someone who was not afraid to take a stand. 'I want her legacy to be her positivity,' she said. 'She educated so many people. She would talk to people of all ages. She did haircuts for the homeless. 'She would never advertise that or post on Facebook because she felt everybody deserved to feel beautiful and clean.' But Gratton would often shared personal milestones with her followers. As a transgender woman, she documented her surgical journey openly and vulnerably. In March 2023, she marked a major milestone — her first year sober. 'I am no longer running away from my emotions and feeling, that I'm walking in the light of a spiritual path,' she wrote at the time. 'The love and support that has been shown and given to me, makes me value my self worth, I deserve a life of freedom filled with love and growth. Blessed it be!!!'

Moment frail missing pensioner uses cane to walk along street: Police release CCTV in hopes of tracing 89-year-old who vanished DAYS ago

This is the heartbreaking moment a missing pensioner is seen using his cane to walk along the street as police plea to the public for help. Footage shows Malcolm, 89, was last seen on Wednesday walking along Westfield Close in the area of Hull Road in Easington between 8am – 9.30am on the day of his disappearance. The frail man vanished days ago and police are 'growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.' Officers have trawled the area knocking on the doors of locals, diving through hours of CCTV and even used scent dogs - but have been unsuccessful in their search for Malcolm. The force have urged the public to check their gardens, sheds, outbuildings and any covered areas as they believe the pensioner could be found sheltering there. They are also keen to speak to pedestrians and drivers travelling along Hull Road around the time Malcolm was last seen and have said motorists shoul check their dash cam footage. Leading the she search, Inspector Will Knapp at Humberside police said: 'We have been trawling hours of CCTV and doorbell footage, conducting house to house enquiries and area searches of rural locations to try and understand which direction Malcolm may have travelled in since leaving his home. 'As part of those enquiries, the CCTV footage shows Malcolm walking along Westfield Close at approximately 8.10am that morning (Wednesday, 4 June). 'Malcolm is then thought to have walked towards the junction of Hull Road before heading west at approximately 8.15am. This is the last confirmed sighting of him. 'He is described as being approximately 5ft 8ins tall with grey hair and is thought to be wearing a grey gilet with brown trousers and carrying a walking stick. 'From this point, with support from specialist trained search officers, scent dogs and the Underwater Search unit, alongside partnering agencies and Malcolm's family and friends, teams have been extending their searches we continue to conduct further lines of enquiries to understand Malcom's movements and try and trace his next steps. 'As part of this, we are keen to speak to pedestrians and motorists travelling along Hull Road between 8am and 9.30am around the time Malcolm was last seen. I'd also encourage anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage around this time to please get in touch. 'We would also urge members of the public to check sheds, outbuildings and any covered areas, if your neighbours are away, please check their gardens too.' He added: 'Anybody who has any information, no matter how small, dashcam or CCTV footage, or who may know where Malcolm may be and can assist us with locating him to please contact us our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 177of 4 June.'
