Sinister twist emerges into the mysterious disappearance of a young dad who's been missing for two months - as his distraught family issues an emotional plea
Father-of-two Jayden Harwood, 20, disappeared after he went for a walk while visiting his girlfriend's family in Ingleburn, in Sydney 's south-west on March 1.
Witnesses claim he was going door to door begging for help before borrowing a phone to make a chilling final phone call to his mum and stepdad to say he had been attacked and needed directions back to his girlfriend's family home.
Almost 11 weeks on, there has been no sign of or contact from Mr Harwood since, despite extensive searches of surrounding streets and bushland.
NSW Police re-issued a public appeal regarding Mr Harwood's disappearance last Thursday.
It's understood detectives are now treating his disappearance as suspicious and have spoken to several 'persons of interest', Nine News reported.
His mum Alana Wallace believes someone knows what happened to her son, who missed his daughter's first birthday on Sunday.
'I need my son back, I need my baby back,' she said as she fought back tears.

'I need to know what's happened, why he's not here.'
Mr Harwood and his girlfriend had travelled from Newcastle to Sydney at the time of his disappearance.
His bank accounts remain untouched and his phone is switched off.
'If you have anything big, small, short or tall, please, please come forward,' his mother urged.
'I just want my beautiful boy home.'
Strangers in Sydney's south-west haven't given up the search and spend their weekends putting up posters and doorknocking.
'He's not just a missing person's poster to me,' local Brittany Wells said.
'He's a real person, he's got family that love him, children that love him, and he's wanted and needed.'
Ms Wallace previously told Daily Mail Australia she had put up her car as a reward in a desperate bid to find her son.
The concerned mum revealed how she received a disturbing phone call after her son went on a walk alone while visiting family with his girlfriend.
'It was a young man and his mum on the phone at first because Jayden had knocked on their door asking for help,' Ms Wallace told Daily Mail Australia.
'He was confused and he told us he had been assaulted and was hurt and didn't know how to get back to Jade's parents' house.
'That was the last contact ever made. He didn't say what exactly had happened or who had done it - he was really disoriented.'
Mr Harwood is described as Caucasian, 165cm tall, medium build, with short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with black logo across the chest, black shorts and dark coloured sneakers.
The young father is known to frequent the Ingleburn, Newcastle and Toronto areas and gets around via public transport.

Mystery over why police questioned footy star at airport is finally solved
Queensland police stopped Brandon Smith for questioning when he flew into the state because they were looking for information about a person known to the Souths star, according to a report. The Bunnies forward was pulled aside by cops for an interview after he flew into Gold Coast Airport with the team on Saturday, ahead of their victory against the Titans. Sources close to The Sydney Morning Herald say Wayne Bennett's side were disembarking the plane when Smith was pulled aside by the cops and pressed for the information. There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on Smith's part. Following the interview, the Rabbitohs star was allowed to go on his way and was not charged. Queensland Police issued a statement on the matter following the interview, but were reluctant to open up on the reason why Smith, who is also affectionately dubbed 'Cheese', was pulled aside for a chat with the police. Rabbitohs star Brandon Smith (pictured with his girlfriend Isabella Williams) was questioned by police at Gold Coast airport as his team arrived to play the Titans The Sydney Morning Herald revealed that police had interviewed Smith to ascertain information about a person known to the Souths star 'Queensland Police had cause to speak to a 29-year-old male at Coolangatta Airport,' a police spokesperson said. 'The male was later released without charge. Police have no further information to provide.' Wayne Bennett was also reluctant to delve into the matter when pressed by reporters over Smith's police interview. 'That's an issue we're not going to talk about,' the Souths coach said. Both the NRL and South Sydney have declined to comment. The club has also been in contact with NRL's Integrity Unit to inform the league about the matter. The former Sydney Roosters star jumped ship to the Rabbitohs midway through the 2025 season, after being released by his former club in unceremonious circumstances. Smith had been sidelined with an ACL injury since 2024, but made his return to the footy pitch for the Bunnies during their Round 18 clash against Manly. The luckless former Dally M winner, suffered an MCL injury during the match, after he fell to the ground awkwardly having been on the pitch for just 37 minutes. He moved to the Souths midway through the season after an unceremonious exit from the Sydney Roosters Smith also took to the defence of Matt Lodge, after the Manly prop was accused of a hip-drop tackle on the Bunnies' new recruit. However, after a five-week absence, the hooker returned to start from the bench during Sunday's two-point victory against the Titans. He took to the field for 51 minutes, made 111 metres from 11 runs and also made a whopping 20 tackles. Smith joined the Roosters back in 2023, after the footy star had spent six years playing for the Storm, winning a premiership with Melbourne in 2020.

Neighbour relives the gruesome scene he found at the house of horror where a pregnant woman was allegedly murdered and her lover decapitated and his head left on a spike
A neighbour has told of the gruesome scene he discovered when he entered the Melbourne house of horror where a pregnant woman was allegedly murdered and her partner's decapitated head left on a spike. 'No one should have to come across what I saw down there,' said Ben Scott-Sandvik, who lives at the front unit in Mount Waverley block where the alleged double-murders took place. 'And nobody needs to live knowing that this sort of thing has happened to their families.' Mr Scott-Sandvik spoke to the Herald Sun after the accused killer Ross Judd, 34, appeared at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Judd smiled and winked as he faced court charged with murdering pregnant woman Athena Georgopoulos, 39, and decapitating her partner Andrew Gunn, 50, before putting the father-to-be's head on a spike. The homeless accused killer winked after he tripped as he came into the dock but then smiled throughout the brief filing hearing over the two counts of murder. The prosecution asked the court for a ten-week extension because 'it's a complex crime scene with significant amounts of DNA evidence'. The prosecutor also said autopsies were expected to be delayed, as alleged murder victim Athena Georgopoulos, 39, was five months pregnant when she died. Daily Mail can reveal Ms Georgopoulos was set to face a plea hearing at Ringwood Magistrates' Court on September 1 for car theft and burglary charges. The alleged killer's legal aid lawyer did not oppose the unusually lengthy period to serve the brief, but told the court it was her client's first time in custody. Judd also faces charges regarding previous allegations of making threats, the Daily Mail can reveal. The lawyer also said Judd needed to see the custody nurse for 'follow-up medication and physical health issues'. Ms Georgopoulos was allegedly killed alongside Mr Gunn in what police believe was a targeted attack at their Mount Waverley home, in Melbourne's south-east. On Wednesday, her mother Petty Georgopoulos paid tribute to her daughter in a heartbreaking post on social media. 'My little heart, you left life so unfairly that I still cannot believe it,' she said in the touching Facebook post. 'In recent days you were so happy - we made dreams together for our little granddaughter that you were going to bring into your life. 'And suddenly, everything was erased in one night, when an [alleged] murderer cut the thread of your life and of my little granddaughter's life that you were going to bring into the world in four months. 'No matter how much they separated us, I will never stop loving you. Forever. Until we meet again, my little girl, in the light of the angels.' She and Mr Gunn were found dead after police received calls from neighbours on Monday night about yelling coming from the property, and heavily armed police swarmed the Adrienne Crescent home at 9.55pm. Inside the small unit, officers allegedly found Mr Gunn's mutilated body next to the body of Ms Georgopoulos. Judd was arrested with two large dogs just hours later at nearby Westall Railway Station, about 6km from the crime scene, at around 1.40am on Tuesday. Police allege Judd was known to the couple and that one of the victims lived in the unit, but they are still trying to establish the connection and alleged motive. Ms Georgopoulos' aunt Patty Dilveridis said her niece was excited by the prospect of motherhood, and her mother Petty had recently met Mr Gunn's parents to celebrate their impending grandparenthood. The dead woman worked as a customer service representative for several electricity and insurance companies, and had been Mr Gunn's partner for three years. Ms Georgopoulos' cousin also posted a heartfelt tribute to the slain mum-to-be. 'My heart is completely broken,' the heartfelt post read. 'My dear cousin, you and your unborn baby were taken away too soon in the most devastating and senseless way. There are no words for this kind of pain - no way to understand why someone so full of life, love and promise could be taken away from us so violently. 'Rest in peace Athena, and your baby girl. We will never forget you. We will honour your memory and carry your love with us forever. 'May God grant your parents, brother, and your loved ones strength during this difficult time.' Several of Ms Georgopoulos' friends also posted tributes to the mum-to-be. 'Rest in peace sweet soul. Thank you for every smile you brought to my face. Thank you for every laugh (of which there were many). 'You were part of what made LUMO so fun to work at. I can't imagine what you went through in the end. You deserved so much better. Love you girl. Fly high,' one friend posted. Another wrote: 'Rest in peace Athena... what has this world come to? May you and your baby fly high. My condolences go out to your loved ones.' Another friend posted: 'May you rest in peace Athena with your family... my sincerest sympathies are with your family and friends who will all feel the impact of your loss.' Another wrote: 'R.I.P Tina I'm lost for words how the f*** can someone [allegedly] just kill someone?' Investigators are examining if graffiti scrawled outside the property - including the phrases 'U R Gay,' 'Enough is Enough,' 'Betrayal,' and 'Karma' - is linked to the horror inside. The messages were sprayed in luminous yellow-green and black paint on the home's fence and exterior walls. Detective Inspector Dean Thomas from the Homicide Squad said police received several calls regarding the incident at the address prior to the grim discovery. 'Police were called at about 9.20pm in relation to a welfare check at the address based on some yelling that was heard from the property,' he said. 'A second call was then made that suggested it was perhaps more urgent than the first call and police arrived minutes later, and obviously they found the male and female inside the premises deceased.' A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed investigators were probing the graffiti. 'Police are aware of graffiti on the property in Mount Waverley where the bodies of two people were located last night,' the spokesperson said. 'Homicide Squad detectives will work to determine if the graffiti is relevant to the murder investigation.' Det Insp Thomas said heavily armed specialist officers, assisted by the police helicopter, tracked the arrested man to the station, where he was taken into custody. 'The person that we took into custody was in the company of two large dogs, I think that would look fairly obvious to people who may have been in the area,' he added.

Outback Wrangler star asked paralysed pilot in hospital to change flight records and erase items on phone, court hears
Reality TV star Matt Wright visited a pilot while he was heavily sedated in hospital following a deadly helicopter crash and asked him to manipulate flying hour records, a court has been told. Outback Wrangler co-star Chris 'Willow' died in the February 2022 accident, falling to the ground from a sling beneath the chopper while collecting crocodile eggs in remote swampland in the Northern Territory. The aircraft then crashed, seriously injuring the pilot Sebastian Robinson. Now a paraplegic, Robinson gave evidence at the supreme court in Darwin by video link from his wheelchair on Wednesday. Wright has pleaded not guilty to three charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice. Prosecutors allege he was worried crash investigators would discover that flight-time meters were disconnected regularly to extend flying hours beyond official thresholds and that paperwork was falsified. Robinson told the court Wright visited him in Royal Brisbane hospital 10 days after the crash when he was still in very bad shape, heavily sedated with 'tubes coming out of me everywhere'. The crown prosecutor Jason Gullaci SC asked the 32-year-old what Wright had asked of him at his hospital bedside and he replied 'to manipulate hours on my aircraft'. 'He asked if I would consider putting any of his hours, from his helicopter, onto my helicopter.' The court was told Robinson was being asked to put egg-collecting hours flown on Wright's crashed helicopter onto his own helicopter, which was not fitted with equipment for egg collecting. Robinson said he told Wright he would think about his request and when he made a return visit the next day told him 'I didn't feel comfortable doing it'. Wright had also asked to go through his phone and 'delete a few things', Robinson said. At the time he was 'scared and panicked' and didn't know who to trust, he said. The crash and his life-changing injuries had been 'the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with in my life'. The court was told Robinson was asked to fly egg-collecting missions in Arnhem Land, where Covid restrictions were in place, because Wright was an anti-vaxxer so could not enter the Indigenous territory unvaccinated. Jurors heard that Wright visited Robinson in hospital despite requirements to show a Covid vaccination certificate and having to complete a test for the virus. The charges against Wright do not relate to the cause of the accident and the prosecution does not allege he is responsible for either the crash, Wilson's death or Robinson's injuries. The trial continues.
