The Clay County Sheriff's Office will be hosting the 2025 Clay County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics early in May.

The event, held on Friday, May 2 at 9 am, aims to 'champion acceptance and inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities' through the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR).

This includes the good work he does with the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that is "dedicated to improving the lives of children." On Friday, Mahomes took to social media to share a big announcement from his foundation about a partnership with Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO). "@15andmahomies is proud to support Special Olympics Missouri on their journey to the 2026 USA Games in Minneapolis! ❤️ We're honored to stand with these incredible athletes as they train, compete, and inspire.🌟" read the post, which Mahomes shared on his Instagram stories. More details on the partnership were revealed in the official announcement on the foundation's website. Through his foundation, Mahomes will help support SOMO athletes who will take part in the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games on June 20 to 26 in Minnesota. Advertisement 'Special Olympics Missouri's mission aligns with the mission of my foundation; we have provided grants for SOMO and its programs for the past five years. With the USA Games coming up, we wanted to help eliminate the financial barriers.' said Mahomes, via the press release. 'We asked for the three greatest needs SOMO was facing. Travel and lodging are at the top of the list, so that is the area we are addressing.' A look at Saturday's Special Olympics
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Today was the second day of the Special Olympics in Terre Hauteand athletes and their families gathered at Indiana State campus to kick off today's events. Hundreds of people came out to Indiana State University for the Special Olympics on Saturday and so far, it's been a hit. Fulton Mraz says track and field has been his favorite event. Last year he won a gold medal. Mraz says he is looking forward to other events being held over the weekend. 'It feels pretty good. Um I'm enjoying it. The weather's nice and the dance is tonight, so I'm gonna party tonight and wear some gold suits, ' said Mraz. This weekend's activities included bingo, pickleball, and basketball. Athlete Tanner Wills is competing in track and field, the main javelin, and shotput. 'I love being coming here. Get to meet all of the people that you don't get to see during the year,' said Wills. According to Olando Nicks, it's been very impactful to have the Special Olympics events. 'Really inspiring. This is my third year, and you know, um just being with our coaches and they encourage us to work hard and try our best it's like I've never been a part of this before,' said Nicks. Former NFL player Adam ‘Pacman' Jones arrested in Kentucky
Police in Kentucky arrested former NFL player Adam 'Pacman' Jones. Action News Jax's Ohio station, WHIO-TV, reports Jones was booked into the Kenton County Jail early Saturday morning. Jones, who is from Atlanta, faces charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct in the second degree and assault on a police officer in the third degree, according to the jail records. Police have not said what led to the charges. Advertisement This is at least the third arrest within the past two years for Jones, who has a history of legal issues. WHIO-TV reported Jones was arrested at the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) in 2023 for alcohol intoxication, terroristic threatening, and disorderly conduct. He later pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct in December 2023. Arlington, Texas police arrested Jones back in November after officers said he got into a fight near AT&T Stadium after the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing match, the Athletic reported. Jones played 13 years in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos.
