DIHAD, Pakistan Association Dubai sign MoU to advance sustainable humanitarian work
DUBAI (WAM) The DIHAD Sustainable Organisation has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Association Dubai, setting the stage for long-term collaboration on sustainable humanitarian and healthcare initiatives in the UAE and beyond.The partnership marks a shift from emergency response to a more integrated, development-driven model of humanitarian aid, prioritising sustainability, education, and capacity-building.Through this agreement, both parties will jointly launch initiatives in healthcare, education, and community development. The collaboration includes support for the Pakistan Medical Center, including medical supplies and essential medicines, enabling it to provide free care to patients of all nationalities in the UAE.Other planned initiatives include technical training, volunteer programmes, awareness sessions, and knowledge-sharing to boost long-term community resilience.Khaled Al Attar, Director-General of DIHAD Sustainable Organisation, said, 'Our mission goes beyond delivering aid; we focus on building integrated development systems that strengthen communities and empower them to become self-reliant. This partnership embodies our vision of global collaboration and sustainable humanitarian impact.'Dr. Faisel Ikram, President of the Pakistan Association Dubai, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing healthcare, education, and social welfare through strategic partnerships. 'This collaboration will help expand our impact both locally and globally,' he added.The MoU highlights modern humanitarian efforts as long-term, inclusive, and development-led. It aligns with DIHAD's global mission, which has impacted over 22.9 million people in 197 countries through more than 967 partnerships and 1.4 billion euros in projects. The organisation also hosts global forums and recently launched initiatives such as a Smart Learning Room in Egypt.
The Pakistan Association Dubai is the only licensed community organisation representing the Pakistani expatriate community in Dubai and operates the region's first non-profit healthcare facility of its kind. Its work spans healthcare, education, and repatriation services.

The delivery is part of an ongoing series of aid shipments scheduled for the coming period, as part of the UAE's sustained efforts through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 to ease the health crisis in Gaza and ensure the continuity of medical services.

Kuwaiti woman receives life-saving, double organ transplant in Abu Dhabi
Nashami, a mother of three, was referred to Abu Dhabi's Cleveland Clinic by doctors in Kuwait and the UK for its multi-organ transplant centre. She was placed on a shared UAE-Kuwait waiting list under a 2021 organ sharing agreement between the countries that has saved over 180 lives so far. A multidisciplinary team from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi carried out the double transplant with precision and minimum complications, the report on national news agency Wam reported, without disclosing when the surgery was done. Dr. Baraa Abduljawad, staff physician at the hospital's critical care noted that optimising the timing of transplantation significantly improved the outcome.

21 Palestinians killed while seeking humanitarian aid in Gaza
13 Aug 2025 19:57 GAZA (WAM) Palestinian medical sources announced on Wednesday that 21 Palestinians were killed and 185 others injured over the past 24 hours while attempting to reach humanitarian aid, bringing the death toll in the struggle for living to 1,859, with 13,594 sources also reported eight new deaths due to famine and malnutrition, including three children, raising the total number of hunger-related deaths to 235, of whom 106 were added that since the start of the war, the death toll has reached 61,722, the majority of them children and women, while the number of injured has risen to 154,525. Many victims remain trapped under the rubble, with ambulance and civil defence teams unable to reach them.
