Puri Jagannadh ropes in young composer for his next with Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu
The latest update is that Mahati Swara Sagar, the son of legendary musician Mani Sharma, has been roped in to compose the music for the film. This is quite a surprising move from Puri, as Mahati has not worked in recent years, and his last album, Bholaa Shankar, disappointed fans big time. Thus, Puri roping in the young composer has raised a few eyebrows in the industry and on social media.
But it needs to be pointed out that Puri had worked with Mahati's dad, Mani Sharma, on so many iconic films and last collaborated with him on iSmart Shankar (now available on OTTplay Premium). But still, he chose his son, Mahati Sagar, which has now become a talking point in the film circles. The film's shooting will be wrapped up in the next two months, and Mahati Swara Sagar has already finished composing two songs and is busy working on the background score, as per reports.
Tabu plays a negative role in Puri Jagannadh's next
Tabu plays the female lead in this film, and she will be seen in a negative role in the social drama. Known for her terrific performances in films such as Drishyam, Tabu will be seen in yet another crucial role which will shock the audience, say the makers. You can stream Drishyam, and her other popular films such as De De Pyaar De and Ninne Pelladata on OTTplay Premium.
Puri Jagannadh is known for his powerful messages in all his films, and this yet-to-be-titled film will also have a solid message told in a satirical manner. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in an author-backed role in this film, which Puri Jagannadh and Charmee are co-producing on a limited budget. More details about this biggie will be out soon.

Nasser: I have a very special relationship with SS Rajamouli
There's a calculated calmness that draws you in when a prolific legend like Nasser talks. His words flow with an ease of someone who listens more but also carries the wisdom of years. In this exclusive conversation with Cinema Express about SonyLIV's Mayasabha: Rise of the Titans, his upcoming original Telugu series directed by Deva Katta and premiering on SonyLIV on August 7, Nasser talks with a quiet conviction in his voice. Firstly on whether the veteran actor is a part of SS Rajamouli's SSMB29, he (laughs) and reveals, "I was involved in an initial serious discussion about preparing actors. I am not a part of the film yet. But he may call me anytime. And I have a very special relationship with Rajamouli. We know each other from his first film. I appreciate him because he never talks to anybody about anything other than cinema. And when Rajamouli narrates a scene, that is like a story by itself."

Vijay Deverakonda: Kingdom is the first film where I feel calm before release
The team of Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, held a press meet on Wednesday, just a day ahead of the film's global theatrical release on Thursday. Addressing the media, Vijay reflected on his feelings before the big day, describing how this experience has been different from his past films. He said, 'Usually before a film releases, things are a little chaotic. Everyone is a little nervous, and the phone doesn't stop ringing. However, this is the first time I am feeling calm and content before the release day. In the last 2-3 years, I have had many sleepless nights. But last night, I had a good night's sleep and came here to meet you all. If I am feeling this satisfied, it's all because of the love Telugu film-goers are showering upon us, which reflects in the advance collections for Kingdom.'
