But there is a potential upside - the national weather agency said Brits can expect "enhanced sunsets and sunrises in the coming days", adding: "Deeper reds and oranges thanks to light scattering."
It comes as thousands of people are expected to flock to beaches across this weekend with forecasts of up to 29C on Sunday.
As Brits head into Saturday evening, the forecaster predicts it will be a mainly dry night with the clearest skies appearing in the west.
While most parts of the UK will remain dry, it's expected that some light rain will fall across the Shetland Islands.
Cloud will build up across central and eastern areas, but will be less extensive than Friday night.
Winds in the southwest will remain strong across some parts.
Low cloud will gradually retreat towards the North Sea coastal areas as Sunday day gets underway, leaving most places to bask in plenty of sunshine.
The strong winds in the southwest though will continue.
While it will be very warm once again for most people, it will feel fresher along the eastern coast.
Looking further ahead into Monday and the early part of the working week it looks to be more of the same.

Any early morning cloud in the east will break up, giving way to sunny spells.
Western parts could see some showers but it will be the warmest part of the country with winds easing off.
Yellow warnings have been put in place for various areas of the country by the UK Health Security Agency.
This includes Yorkshire and the Humber, the East and West Midlands, London and the South East, the South West and the east of England.
Heat health alerts have also been extended into next week for much of England.
The hot weather has resulted in a surge of vehicle breakdowns, the RAC reports.
They have received 10 per cent more call outs this week when compared to the same period of Monday to Thursday last week.
The yellow warnings are set to remain in place until 6pm on Monday, August 18.

Bournemouth road partially shut after car fire spreads to heath
A dual carriageway was forced to close after a car fire spread to adjoining fire crews were sent to the A338 near Bournemouth Airport, after the alarm was first raised at about 13:30 BST, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said the wind carried sparks across the road from the southbound carriageway, causing two further fires in heathland on the northbound service said at 16:40 the southbound carriageway had reopened but the northbound side remained shut. The vehicle fire, in a slip road leading to a quarry, sent black smoke across the road, according to videos posted crews from Springbourne, Wareham, Christchurch, Poole, Redhill Park and Ferndown attended the blaze, supported by crews from Lymington and New Milton in Hampshire, said the A338 is a major road used by holidaymakers between the A31 near Ringwood and has been hit by two major heath fires this month, including one at Newton Heath near Swanage that burned for 10 days, while fire crews from across England helped to deal with a blaze at Holt Heath near Wimborne across 72 hectares (177 acres) of land. Spain is deploying an additional 500 soldiers to combat raging wildfires, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced on Sunday, as the country grapples with a prolonged period of scorching weather. The new deployment adds to the more than 1,400 troops already battling blazes across parched woodland. Authorities are particularly struggling to contain forest fires in the northwestern Galicia region, where 12 major wildfires are currently active near the city of Ourense. Alfonso Rueda, head of the Galician regional government, confirmed the severity of the situation during a joint press conference with Mr Sánchez. The country is also awaiting promised aircraft reinforcements from other European nations to aid the firefighting efforts. ' Homes are still under threat so we have lockdowns in place and are carrying out evacuations,' Rueda said. Galicia has been battling the spreading flames for more than a week. Temperatures in Spain could reach 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit) in some areas on Sunday, the Spanish national weather agency AEMET said. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was 44.7 degrees Celsius (112.46 degrees Fahrenheit) in the southern city of Cordoba, it said.
