The installation of these cameras has been strategically distributed across various key areas of the city.
For instance, 100 cameras have been placed in Satpur, Ambad, and Indiranagar areas. Sarkarwada now has 32 cameras, while Chunchale is covered by 52 cameras. As many as 156 cameras have been deployed across Nashik Road, Upnagar, Deolali Camp, Panchavati, and Adgaon areas.
Currently, another 84 cameras are in the process of being installed in the Bhadrakali area, further expanding the reach of the surveillance network.
This comprehensive surveillance will expand even more with the help of the Smart City project. As part of this initiative, 1,300 additional CCTV cameras have already been installed at 350 different locations. These cameras are soon expected to become fully functional, integrating with the police's existing and planned network.
The combined effort will provide extensive and robust security coverage across the entire city of Nashik, enhancing public safety significantly.
A police officer, while talking to TOI, said, "With the exception of cameras in the Bhadrakali area, where plans are afoot for live transmission to the Bhadrakali police station, other cameras will be standalone with the capacity to store the footage for about a month.
"
The officer added, "Thus, the police can check the footage of the cameras as and when required. While investigating a crime, the police generally take help of CCTV cameras to check from where the criminals may have arrived and in which direction they left after committing a crime."

Bareilly co director rents out firm's account to fraudsters, held for aiding Rs 3.2cr cyber fraud
Bareilly: Police on Monday arrested the director of a Bareilly-based company for renting out his firm's bank account to cybercriminals, who used it to siphon Rs 3.2 crore from victims across 11 states. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The money was converted to USDT cryptocurrency and routed to wallets operating from Hong Kong, complicating recovery efforts. Bareilly police said Pradeep Kumar Singh, director of Narayani Infratech, took Rs 75,000 in advance for allowing his firm's account to be used for fraud, with the remaining promised payment yet to be made. Police across Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other states had been tracking him. Cybercell SHO Dinesh Sharma told TOI, "Our investigation found that Rs 3.2 crore obtained through fraud were transferred to Narayani Infratech's bank account on June 18 and 19. Of this, Rs 1.1 crore came from the account of a scientist posted at IVRI Bareilly who was digitally arrested by the fraudsters. The remaining amount was sent through fraud from other states. On June 20, the entire amount was withdrawn from the account, which was then frozen. " Investigators seized three mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, and a crypto wallet from the suspects. They are analysing the wallet to establish links to an international network, which initial findings suggest operates from China. SP (crime) Manish Sonkar said, "The investigation is progressing and the entire network will soon be dismantled. Nine suspects have been sent to jail in this case. Besides Pradeep, Mahfooz and Aman were also arrested and jailed on Sunday. Previously, the following six suspects from Lucknow, Mirzapur, Budaun, and other districts were also sent to jail."

I take full responsibility: J&K LG Manoj Sinha calls Pahalgam attack a security failure
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has acknowledged that the deadly attack in Pahalgam earlier this year was a grave security lapse, taking personal responsibility for the incident that killed several innocent civilians. In an interview to The Times of India, Sinha described the attack as a Pakistan-sponsored act of terror intended to sow communal discord and derail the region's economic progress. 'I take full responsibility for the incident, which was undoubtedly a security failure,' Sinha said. He added that while the attack was a deliberate attempt to target India's unity, it should not be seen as evidence that terrorism is resurgent across the Union Territory. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Kanpur: 1 Trick to Reduce Belly Fat? Pakistan's calculated strike on Kashmir's economy Live Events According to Sinha, the timing and location of the assault were aimed at undermining Kashmir's booming tourism sector and overall economic revival. 'In the past five years, the J&K economy's size has doubled. Tourists have been flocking in high numbers. This was a hit by Pakistan at the economic well-being of Kashmir,' he told TOI, while also stressing that the widespread condemnation by ordinary Kashmiris was a 'befitting reply to Pakistan and terror outfits.' Asked whether the participation of local accomplices in the attack posed a fresh challenge for security forces, Sinha maintained that local recruitment of militants had fallen to record lows. 'There has been just one incident of local recruitment this year compared to 6–7 last year. There was a time when this figure used to be 150–200. But it is also a fact that Pakistan has facilitated the infiltration of a large number of terrorists in both Jammu region and Kashmir region,' he noted. The Pahalgam attack dealt a temporary blow to tourism, with arrivals plunging in the immediate aftermath. 'Tourist arrivals had almost stopped after the incident. We believed that the Amarnath Yatra would be the turning point,' Sinha said. The LG confirmed that tourist destinations closed after the attack have gradually reopened. 'Many have already opened. Others will be opened too in a phased manner, after finalising a robust security plan for each,' he said. Operation Sindoor: A Deterrent for Pakistan Reflecting on the broader security environment during the TOI interview, Sinha said the success of Operation Sindoor had drawn clear red lines for Pakistan. 'India has made it clear that any terror attack will be considered an act of war. The manner in which our forces carried out precise hits against terror facilities in Pakistan conveyed a stern message. But a country that has made terrorism its declared state policy is not to be trusted,' he cautioned during the conversation with TOI. Despite the challenges, Sinha expressed confidence that the Union Home Ministry, Defence Ministry and intelligence agencies are fully prepared to counter any future threats.
