'Can't Unsee It:' Why Are Drivers Flipping Their Ford Logos Around?

Motor 115 hours ago

A Ford owner is going viral on TikTok after showing how the logo, flipped around, reads, 'Brat.' Why is this the latest online phenomenon?
TikTok user Hailey LaRae (@haileylarae) posted a video of the tailgate of her Ford truck on Tuesday. The video shows her tailgate with the reversed logo to the tune of Charlie XCX's '365.'
"To whoever said if you flip Ford's logo around it says brat, thank you. I cannot unsee it," the on-screen text reads.
Why Does It Matter?
In the caption, LaRae adds the following hashtags: "#ford #bratsummer #brat." This is clearly a reference to the
'Brat Summer'
sparked by U.K. pop star Charlie XCX's 'Brat' album in 2024. The album's vibrant green cover art, accompanied by its unvarnished take on the concerns of the modern party girl, made it one of the biggest records (and memes) of the year.
Commenters Were All In on the 'Bratmobile'
In the comments, Ford UK weighed in, 'Bratmobile owners assemble.'
"I like that the T is uppercase so it accentuates it," observed another user.
In the true spirit of Brat, some users took the opportunity to settle personal scores with Ford and beyond.
"Ford is very brat (derogatory)," wrote one user.
"Ah, this explains why my ex drove a Ford," joked a second.
TikTokers Aren't the Only Netizens Who Noticed
The r/CharlieXCX community on Reddit addressed this a few weeks ago in a
thread
tagged 'Braturday.'
"F150, when you're in the mirror you're just looking at me," wrote one user, invoking the lyrics of "360."
A second user referenced an older Charli XCX material. 'VROOM VROOM,' they wrote.
"I drive a Ford F150 and love Brat. And Charli. Uhmmm, I'm putting this on a Brat green tank top," wrote a third user.
Someone else said, 'Alert the press.' Duly noted.
A Little Look at the History of These Iconic Symbols
The Ford logo of today
debuted
in 2003 and has since become one of the most recognizable symbols in the auto industry. It is based in part on Henry Ford's actual signature.
Charli XCX
explained
in an Apple Music interview that she chose the minimalist cover color scheme as a budget-saving measure. It was also a way to reinforce a central tenet of the Brat ethos: to resist societal expectations.

UK: David Beckham, Gary Oldman and Roger Daltrey knighted

Former England footballer David Beckham, The Who's musician Roger Daltrey and actor Gary Oldman were knighted in King Charles's annual birthday honors list. The 50-year-old former player, who can now call himself Sir David Beckham, told the PA news agency that he could never have imagined receiving such an honorable award. "I'm immensely proud and it's a very emotional moment for me to share with my family," he said. Beckham joined Manchester United as a trainee in 1993 and went on to make nearly 400 appearances for the club, winning a string of titles and cups. He then played for Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and AC Milan. He also captained his country 58 times and made 115 appearances. One of the highlights: in 1999, he won the Champions League final with Manchester United against FC Bayern. His 1999 marriage to fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham cemented his celebrity status, which far surpassed his sporting achievements. In 2003, Beckham had already been elevated to the rank of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). 67-year-old Oldman began his career on stage as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company before rising to prominence in film. He won the Best Actor Oscar for playing Winston Churchill in the 2017 drama "Darkest Hour." He also had roles in the "Dark Knight" trilogy and the "Harry Potter" movie series. More recently, he starred in the TV spy drama "Slow Horses." Roger Daltrey, the lead singer of the rock band The Who and a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, was knighted for his charitable work. The British government announced that more than 1,200 people received honors for their achievements, particularly those who dedicated their time to public service. King Charles's official birthday will be celebrated with the annual "Trooping the Colour" military parade in London on Saturday. His actual birthday is November 14. Edited by:

Doja Cat Addresses An Uncomfortable Fan Interaction

Doja Cat is in the middle of viral internet madness again, but this one hits differently — because why are we still invalidating people's experiences in 2025? Doja had a fan interaction that she later responded to X users about —and what followed was an onslaught of backlash toward her that, quite frankly, was entirely unwarranted. The person in the video with Doja is Pablo Tomayo, an influencer with over 400k followers on TikTok. Pablo designs custom jewelry and has even interacted with Paris Hilton, Rihanna, and Saweetie, who received his products. So, let's establish that Pablo's been doing this for a hot minute. In the video, it appears that Pablo is standing next to Doja outside of an event and gives her the actual shirt off his back, which is part of his collab with Melimayystudios. Pablo and Doja share a hug and a friendly kiss before ending the video by jumping up and down in celebration. Based on the reactions, the internet loved how Doja interacted with Pablo. Appearances are not always what they seem on the surface. Based on a series of X posts a week later, the reality is that Doja didn't quite enjoy the interaction. Doja posted a now-deleted X post, saying, "bottom line is i'll smile at you but it doesn't mean I fuck w you and don't touch me and man handle me when you don't even fuckin know me. iykyk. i honestly think I need to stand up for myself in the moment sometimes. and he didn't even know my fuckin name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy." An X user responded that they thought she was feeling the interaction, and when they asked for context, Doja said, "i was very drunk idk what to tell you." She added in a now-deleted X post she "threw that musty ass shirt away," referring to the shirt he gave her off his back. When someone responded that they thought she said he "smelt good," Doja explained why she didn't enjoy the interaction. "He did but i don't like how comfortable he was touching me and kissing me without asking permission," she wrote. When word got around to Pablo that Doja talked about the situation on X, he responded with a TikTok video. "I just want to clear this up because it hurts because I loved her. I watched her at Coachella. I never claimed to be the biggest fan, but I stan her and I think her work is amazing." "I would've never wanted to make her uncomfortable. I would've never filmed if she didn't say yes. That video that we filmed was after everything," he continued. "I understand that she has to set her boundaries. She's a celebrity. I'm not. I will never understand that, so I value that... I appreciate and I get that." "I apologize if I did anything wrong at all," he said. "I know I didn't know her first. I never claimed to be the biggest fan ever. I just respect her a lot for her work." Here's the thing. We must learn to be accountable for doing things we didn't intend to do. I don't believe any party in this situation is a villain, but I think it's fair for Doja to admit that she might not have enjoyed the interaction despite what we see in the video. It's also fair for Pablo to be disheartened by the new development. Perhaps going on X wasn't the best solution, hence why the messages were deleted, but the response to her feelings was disgusting. Here's the one that Doja specially responded to: Are we okay? What distorted timeline of parasocial stan culture do we exist in that we're suddenly accepting "she kissed back" and "I thought you were feeling it" as invitations to invade someone's personal space? It's honestly hard to tell whether or not the reactions are just a product of the vitriolic stan culture or if this is genuinely how we respond to a person's experience. Perhaps I'm in my feelings because I just spent weeks reading people find ways to speak negatively about Megan Thee Stallion, Halle Bailey, Skai Jackson, Cassie, Blake Lively, and other celebrities receiving backlash for choosing to speak up. These are all different scenarios of varying degrees, and I'm not even trying to consider they're in the same ballpark. But the response and how we speak about the woman in the scenario is oddly familiar, so I'm standing on business and saying the misogyny (and misogynoir) has to end. A person speaking their truth isn't an invitation for you to double down on your keyboard bigotry. I hope Doja and Pablo can make amends, but in the meantime, the bashing of women online needs to be checked at the door. And I'm so serious.

Mom-to-be roasted for naming her daughter after tragic event that shocked the world: ‘Felt like getting punched in the face'

Strange, unique, and eccentric names have come back into fashion for new parents, with monikers ranging from bizarrely-lettered variants to the Millennial-led dog names for babies trend — see short, cutesy names like Max, Sadie, and Bear, as prime examples. However, one parent-to-be took these trends to the next level and paid the price: relentless mocking on the Internet. A friend of the parent in question was sent a seemingly innocent baby shower invitation, but after closer inspection, noticed the name, Chernobyl Hope, was especially unique — or, as the Internet dubbed it after the friend posted the invitation to Reddit, 'ridiculous' and 'offensive.' It appeared as if the parents were unaware of the 1986 nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, Ukraine. The recipient of this unconventional baby shower invitation posted it to the subreddit r/tragedeigh, where aggrieved Internet users come together to poke fun at unfortunate, offensive, and just plain crazy baby names, particularly where unconventional spelling is involved — hence the Millennial-core 'deigh' epithet. Many replies said they were so uncomfortable with this baby name, they had no choice but to turn to humor to cope. 'I'm sure everyone at the celebration will be radiant,' one user commented facetiously, prompting the reply: 'Speak for yourself. If I were a guest at that shower and heard that name, I'd have a total meltdown.' 'I guess it's a nuclear family,' another user quipped. 'Honestly, if it didn't have the connotation of being a nuclear disaster, it would be a pretty name,' rationalized one commenter, while another quipped: 'Extra points for having the invitation feature an elephant's foot.' Wedged between comments making jokes at this family's expense and users expressing outrage at the name was the only other detail — or semblance of an explanation — the original poster left behind: 'I have a feeling they don't know what Chernobyl meant. I asked them where they got the idea from, and said it just sounded nice,' they explained. Overwhelmingly, users reacted to the wild post with distaste. The Chernobyl explosion occurred in a nuclear power plant located in a town (now recognized as being in Ukraine) of the same name, and remains the worst nuclear accident in human history. 31 people died immediately as a result of the incident, per the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but varying studies have produced long-term death tolls ranging into hundreds of thousands of premature deaths as a result of radiation exposure. 'I haven't ever met another person (aside from a cousin) who has been affected by Chernobyl. I was born sick due to it because my mother was pregnant with me and in the area when it occurred,' shared a commenter. 'It has made my life… not fun. Being profoundly disabled at age 37 due to human error… And an error that never offered compensation for all of us who had their lives ruined by it,' the enraged Redditor continued. 'What a legacy. Naming someone after something that has left people with cancer, going through 30+ surgeries just to stay alive, and losing their quality of life. I'm just appalled. Repulsed.' Many commenters also offered the original poster advice for dealing with the profoundly awkward situation. 'Even if you think your relationship with them will sour, at least for the baby's sake, you need to talk to them and suggest they change the name and explain to them what this means, all politely, of course. If they say they will still continue with the name, you can smile and give a thumbs up.' 'Absolutely remove these people from your life,' recommended another blunt reply. Obscene and ignorant as this name choice may be, in many countries, it's not necessarily illegal. In the United States, birth certificate laws and regulations vary by state, but even still, most prohibited names have been disallowed for administrative purposes — monikers in excess of 140 characters and those containing numbers are prime examples. Some states have outlawed names like Jesus Christ and Santa Claus, but as of now, baby Chernobyl Hope is more than fine the government's eyes.
