Champions League draw LIVE as Celtic and Rangers set to learn playoff fate in Nyon
The two Glasgow giants' names go into the Champions League playoff round draw hat in Switzerland.
And that means they will find out who stands in their way of a place in the lucrative league phase of UEFA 's premier competition.
Rangers, of course, still have to negotiate a third qualifying round tie against Viktoria Plzen to ensure they get there. But it will be an incentive to know their potential opponents.
In Celtic's case, they already know what it's like to be in with the big boys in the revamped tournament.
Brendan Rodgers led his side there last season and they made it out of the single 36-team table and into the knockout phase play-off round, narrowly going down to Bayern Munich.
Having experienced it, they will be desperate to get back there. And for Russell Martin it would be a huge boost to what he's trying to achieve at Ibrox.
It's been three years since the two fierce rivals were both in the group stage of the Champions League. Can they do it again?

Mohamed Salah challenges Uefa response to Palestinian footballer's death in Gaza
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has called out Uefa for not saying how a footballer known as the ' Palestinian Pele' died in its tribute to him. The Palestinian Football Association (PFA) said on Wednesday that Suleiman Al-Obeid, 41, died in an Israeli attack in Gaza. In an X post, European football association Uefa said he was 'a talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times'. Responding to this, Egyptian star Salah said: 'Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?' Among those who praised his response was former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who replied: 'Well said Mo!' Salah, 33, who has more than 19 million X followers, previously called for the massacres in the conflict to stop and for aid to be allowed into Gaza. In a video posted on Instagram in October 2023, he said: 'It is not always easy to speak in times like this. There has been too much violence and too much heartbreak and brutality. 'The escalations in the recent weeks is unbearable to witness. All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart.' The PFA said that Al-Obeid, who was married with two sons and three daughters, made 24 appearances for the national team, scoring twice. He was nicknamed the 'Palestinian Pele', the PFA said.

Gareth Bale joins TNT Sports for Premier League and Champions League
Gareth Bale has joined TNT Sports as one of the broadcaster's main pundits this season. The former Real Madrid and Wales forward has signed a deal to work on its Premier League and Champions League coverage throughout the 2025-26 campaign. Bale will join TNT's lineup of Peter Crouch and Joe Cole in their live coverage of the Premier League on Saturday lunchtimes, with Owen Hargreaves, Steve McManaman, Ally McCoist and Karen Carney also among their pundits. Bale is understood to have impressed TNT executives with his analysis of Tottenham's Europa League final triumph over Manchester United in Bilbao in May. The 36-year-old had previously been used in their coverage of Liverpool's Champions League group game against Real Madrid. Bale is a high-profile replacement for Rio Ferdinand, who opted not to sign a new contract at the end of last season after 12 years at TNT, which until last year was known as BT Sport. Ferdinand left to pursue other business interests and to spend more time with his family. TNT has exclusive rights to 52 Premier League matches this season, 32 of them 12.30pm Saturday kick-offs and two complete midweek rounds. The midweek fixtures will be spread from Tuesday to Thursday, with kick-off times of 7.30pm and 8.15pm in an attempt to increase viewing figures. In the first year of a new four-year rights cycle, more Premier League games will be broadcast live than ever before this season, with Sky Sports showing 215 matches live, starting with Liverpool's trip to Bournemouth next Friday evening. All games that do not kick off at 3pm on Saturdays will be available live, either on Sky or TNT. In addition, TNT has exclusive rights to every Champions League, Europa League and Conference League fixture other than one Tuesday night Champions League game, which will be streamed by Amazon Prime. TNT also starts a new four-year deal for the FA Cup this season, with the contract including Sunday's Community Shield between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Wembley. While TNT bought exclusive rights for the competition, the BBC will show 14 games, including two quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion TNT declined to comment, but the broadcaster is expected to confirm its punditry lineup for the season at the start of next week.

Nasser Djiga out of Rangers vs Celtic as dreaded derby scenario unfolds after unwanted record
The Burkina Faso international was shown a red card at Ibrox and misses the next league game - not until the visit of Celtic Rangers' home Premiership draw against Dundee at Ibrox on Saturday means they have failed to win any of their opening two league games for the first time in 36 years. It was actually worse for Graeme Souness back in 1989/90 as his Light Blues side lost both of their first two matches, going down St Mirren and Hibs. Russell Martin can at least boast two more points than that Souness side which won just two of their first eight games that season - and still ended up winning the title. That might give Martin some hope although a drastic improvement in performances is required after consecutive 1-1 draws, at Motherwell last weekend and at home to Dundee on Saturday, to start the season. Yet things are about to get a whole lot tougher and problems seem to be mounting against Martin - although one major issue it could be argued is of the club's own doing. Nasser Djiga has been one of the positives in the early part of the season with his performances in the Champions League qualifiers. The on-loan Wolves man was sent off on Saturday for a hauling down Dundee's Finlay Robertson as he raced in on goal. Djiga will now serve a one-match suspension and the Ibrox side's next game is against Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup. However, SPFL rules state the ban must be served in the competition ins which the red card was received, meaning the Burkina Faso international will sit out the next league game. That would have been the trip to St Mirren the following weekend with Sky Sports selecting that match for live coverage on Sunday, August 24. However, Rangers have taken up the SPFL on the option for all Scottish clubs to postpone their fixture sandwiched between both legs of their European play-off ties. That means - unless the Light Blues somehow surrender a three-goal lead against Viktoria Plzen - the trip to Paisley will be rescheduled and Rangers' next league game is the visit of Celtic to Ibrox the following Sunday. Not having Djiga available for that would be a huge blow to Martin and to make matters worse, glass-half-empty Rangers fans have already worked out a dreaded scenario. Celtic have opted not to rescheduled their home game against Livingston on the weekend Gers were due to travel to St Mirren so victory in that, and in today's trip to Aberdeen, would mean the champions going to the home of their rivals knowing a victory would send them TEN points clear after just four Premiership match days of the new season.
