Your suitcase should be able to roll with all the punches. Storms included.
If there is one brand we know is tough-as-steel, it's Samsonite. If there is a second thing we know, it's that this cult-favorite luggage line doesn't exactly throw deep discounts around. But right now — just before Amazon Prime Day — you can score Samsonite's nearly indestructible luggage for under $100. That's enough savings to cover a one-way ticket and airport snacks.
Don't take it from me. Listen to Kendall Cornish, our commerce editor, longtime travel expert, and now part-time cowgirl. After trekking down to Texas, she decided to put her spinable, hardshell Samsonite set through the ultimate test: ranch life. I mean, if Samsonite can survive hours bumping around the back of an ATV, this luggage can certainly handle a five-star resort in Paris.

'Let's just say it wasn't a glam jet-set test. I used the carry-on as a daily gear tote for the ranch, hauling everything from horse riding gear to bottles of plant fertilizer, rolling it through gravel paths and hard-packed clay,' Cornish recounted in her full review. 'The medium spinner sat in the back of a dusty ATV for several days, during which there was a Texas-sized thunderstorm (whoops).'
There you have it. Whether you're heading off for a Fourth of July weekend away or braving the war zone known as TSA, these Samsonites are built to weather any storm, with sleek style, glide-like-a-dream wheels, and now, a pre-Prime Day price that won't send you into panic mode.
Amazon
The Samsonite Freeform 28″ Spinner offers a well-rounded option for travelers seeking lightweight (9.6 pounds), spacious (7.6″ x 20″ x 13″ interior), and stylish checked luggage. Its dual 360-degree spinner wheels provide smooth maneuverability, while the thoughtfully designed interior adds practical appeal. Backed by a 10-year warranty, it balances form and function at a competitive price point, especially while on sale. Available in several neutral shades and some brighter options, it's also remarkably easy to spot coming around the airport conveyor belt.

This Jackery Portable Power Station Is Back at Black Friday Pricing, Even Cheaper Than Prime Day

We're nearing the end of the Summer season, and to be honest, we're kind of happy about it. It's too darn hot! If you like the Summer though, then you might still have some camping trips left, or maybe you're just looking for a bit of a backup if power goes out in your home or city. Either way, a good portable power station can really help. The Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 300 is normally $259, which is already pretty reasonable, but thanks to a limited-time deal on Amazon right now, you can get it for just $169 at the moment. We don't know how long the deal will last though, so make sure you're quick if you want it. See at Amazon A portable power station like this can be used for loads of different things. The most obvious uses tend to be the ones outdoors. You can take it with you when you're going camping to let you keep your phone charged or cook with, and you can take it with you to the beach to power a fan or something. Even if all it's doing is sitting in your car, it can be handy if you get a flat tire and need to kill some time, or just need it at home. This particular one has a 293Wh capacity, which is a decent amount for most people. It'll allow you to charge your phone, power an appliance or too for a bit, or just keep those creature comforts going when you're out in the wilderness for a couple of days. You can actually attach it to a compatibly solar panel too, if you have one or pick one up, and then you've basically got infinite power while you're outdoors. The battery itself only takes about three hours to fully charge, and it has two AC outlets, a USB-C port, a fast-charge 3.0 port, a USB-A port, and a DC car port as well. It means that you've plenty of options, and it also means it can handle more or less anything you throw at it, which is exactly what you should be aiming for with a portable power station. It's easy to see why this thing is worth the usual price of $259, which means the deal is all the sweeter. So, if you do want to get it while it's on sale, we recommend moving quickly to snap it up while it's down to just $169. See at Amazon

SEC stadiums ranked by online reviews

Earlier this summer, we ranked SEC game-day atmospheres. USA TODAY Sports ranked the top 25 stadiums in college football, and several of those are the homes of SEC teams. It's a group of stadiums that can vary in stadium capacity, but the SEC is home to some of the largest stadiums in college football. This week, it was the public's turn. Using ratings from Google, Yelp and TripAdvisor, each of the 16 SEC teams' digs was ranked from highest to lowest. A few surprises dotted the list, especially at the top and bottom. Alabama, the bluest of blue bloods in the SEC, ranked first in the combined list while Vanderbilt ranked last. Both make sense. Bryant-Denny Stadium, home to the Crimson Tide, has been packed for most of the last 25 years. Alabama has won six national championships since 2009, capturing its first during that span in then-coach Nick Saban's third year in Tuscaloosa. The Commodores, on the other hand, have a grand total of three winning seasons. A moderate eye-opener? Texas' Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium ranked 13th out of the 16 venues. In fairness, the atmosphere ranked in the bottom half of our rankings earlier this summer. But part of the reason for the low placement could also be visiting antipathy toward the Longhorns. Non-Texas fans tend to be anti-Texas. On the positive side was Mississippi State. Again, we rated Starkville's game-day atmosphere relatively highly, but the stadium itself ranked eighth in the Google/Trip Advisor/Yelp ratings. While the city may lack a bit compared to its SEC brethren, Davis Wade Stadium is a fun, impressive joint, even for visitors. Here's how the SEC ranked according to the ratings. 1. Alabama Crimson Tide ‒ Bryant-Denny Stadium 2. Texas A&M Aggies ‒ Kyle Field 3. LSU Tigers ‒ Tiger Stadium 4. Auburn Tigers ‒ Jordan-Hare Stadium 5. Georgia Bulldogs ‒ Sanford Stadium 6. Oklahoma Sooners ‒ Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium 7. Arkansas Razorbacks ‒ Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium 8. Mississippi State Bulldogs ‒ Davis Wade Stadium 9. Missouri Tigers ‒ Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium 10. Kentucky Wildcats ‒ Kroger Field 11. Tennessee Volunteers ‒ Neyland Stadium 12. Florida Gators ‒ Ben Hill Griffin Stadium 13. Texas Longhorns ‒ Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium 14. South Carolina Gamecocks ‒ Williams-Brice Stadium 15. Ole Miss Rebels‒ Vaught Hemingway Stadium 16. Vanderbilt Commodores‒ FirstBank Stadium Contact/Follow us @SoonersWire on X, and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Oklahoma news, notes, and opinions.

Travelers Say These $39 Hiking Pants Are Better Than High-end Styles

You know you've found a pair of quality hiking pants when they cost more than $100; when it comes to outdoor gear, a higher price point usually indicates higher quality. But we've uncovered a pair of under-$40 hiking pants that are an exception to that rule, with thousands of travelers comparing them to fan favorites that cost several times more. Boasting over 14,000 perfect five-star ratings, Amazon's top-selling Baleaf Hiking Pants have shoppers saying they're a close competitor for higher-end alternatives from Outdoor Research, The North Face, Kühl, and PrAna. According to reviewers, they're as lightweight as any hot-weather hiking pants on the market, though they've also proven just as suitable for wet and cold conditions, making them a reliable, seasonal staple. These Baleaf Hiking Pants, on sale for just $39, are the No. 1 best-selling hiking pants on Amazon, racking up almost 20,000 ratings within the two years they've been listed. They're made of a stretchy, lightweight blend of 90 percent polyester and 10 percent spandex and provide a UPF rating of 50+. The sweat-wicking material is designed to breathe, dry quickly, and protect your skin from the sun while clocking thousands of steps on the trail. The elastic waist is has an adjustable drawstring, and the ankle cuffs have drawcords that can be tightened shut, keeping bugs and twigs at bay. These joggers also have four roomy zippered pockets to keep your essentials safe: Two on the hips, one on the rear, and one on the left thigh. Despite their budget-friendly price point, many have called them the best pants they've ever owned for hiking or travel. One impressed reviewer said that they're comparable to the $89 Splash Roll-up Pants by Kühl, while another shopper reported that their 'high quality' rivals that of a pair they've previously purchased from Outdoor Research. After testing them out on the notoriously wet, 11-mile Mist Trail in Yosemite National Park, one hiker said they liked their Baleaf joggers better than a $90 version from The North Face. They liked them so much, in fact, they now own five pairs. In addition to sporting them on hiking trails and backpacking trips lasting up to three weeks, reviewers have also worn them while riding all-terrain vehicles in Canada, climbing over lava rocks in Costa Rica, mountain biking in Colorado, kayaking in Utah, and traversing freezing, snow-covered Alps in Switzerland. One customer who lives on a sailboat said they bought these hiking pants after they were recommended by other sailors. 'I didn't realize what I was getting myself into,' they wrote. 'We left the dock on a long trip on August 4, and it's now Thanksgiving, and I have worn these pants almost every single day since,' they continue, sharing that they're easy to rinse out and hang to dry while onboard. These best-selling Baleaf hiking pants have been tested on African safaris and the ice sheets of Antarctica alike by Amazon shoppers, and they continue to receive emphatic praise for their durability, breathability, stretch, and water resistance. As for their comfort? Reviewers say that they're so comfy, you could sleep in them. Have an outdoor adventure on the horizon? Read on for more highly rated hiking pants, all under $40 at Amazon.
