Pros and cons of Los Angeles Sparks taking South Carolina's Sania Feagin in 2025 WNBA Draft
South Carolina women's basketball forward Sania Feagin was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks with the 21st overall pick in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on April 14.
Feagin was there live in the audience at The Shed at Hudson Yards in Manhattan, New York, sitting at a table with her mother, Sherri, her younger brother and her aunt and uncle.

Coach Dawn Staley and the South Carolina coaching staff were there as well to support Feagin.
Feagin was the third South Carolina player to be taken in the draft, joining Te-Hina Paopao (No. 18, Atlanta Dream) and Bree Hall (No. 20, Indiana Fever).
Feagin started every game this season for the Gamecocks, who lost to UConn in the national championship game on April 6. She averaged 8.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and shot a team-high 60% from the field this season.
The positives for South Carolina's Sania Feagin
Feagin is a proven winner. She spent four years under Staley, one of the most accomplished coaches, and she came out of the program as one of the most successful players.

She made four Final Fours, is a four-time SEC regular-season champion, a two-time national champion and finished with a 144-7 overall record. That experience will be a huge asset when she joins her new teammates and in a new program.
Her crisp short jumper separates her as a versatile shooter and she can hit 3-pointers, which expands her usage as a forward. Feagin runs the floor well and has good court vision, joining quick guards in a pick-and-roll game, and sees taller players for dump-off passes. She can play on-ball defense and keep up with faster guards. She averaged 1.5 blocks per game this season.
She grew into a leader and more confident player, so if that carries into the next level, she will flourish at the right time. She's coachable, and Staley praised her work ethic and passion all season.
The concerns for South Carolina's Sania Feagin
Feagin is a bit undersized at 6-foot-3, and her rebounding sometimes suffers against taller players.

Coaches and scouts might look at her scoring average of 8.1 points a game this season and wonder if she can produce at a higher clip. As a rookie, she likely will have fewer minutes on the court than what she had as a senior at South Carolina.
Final thoughts
Staley said that Feagin has always been one of her most talented post players, with skill, drive and heart, which translate to dominance on the court.
She has the offensive talent and defensive effort to compete in the WNBA, and if she can build on the success she had at South Carolina, she could have a long professional career.

Caitlin Clark's Behavior Toward Aliyah Boston After Missed Layup Catches Attention
The Indiana Fever are hosting the Chicago Sky on Saturday afternoon. This is the 2025 WNBA season opener for both teams. Beginning their second professional campaigns, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese again headline their respective teams. Clark electrified fans early in this contest with a deep 3-point shot on her first field goal attempt of the season. She also threw some incredible passes that her teammates were unable to finish, notably one to 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston. Advertisement Missing an easy shot at the rim, Boston blew Clark's assist, but the Fever point guard was quick to lift her up after the play. Clark's behavior caught the attention of WNBA fans who appreciated her leadership in this moment. "Shot out to Caitlin Clark consulting with Aaliyah Boston telling her it's fine heads up and next play! Growth from Clark," said one. "Caitlin calming Aliyah down," noted another. "She settles and finishes those, they're feasting off that exact play all season." "my abcc 🥺," said another. "Caitlin being the voice of reason for Aliyah 😭," one added. Chennedy Carter Sends Message After Calls Mount to Join Caitlin Clark
Chennedy Carter Sends Message After Calls Mount to Join Caitlin Clark originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former WNBA guard Chennedy Carter spent last season with the Chicago Sky. Leading the team in scoring, Carter averaged 17.5 points and finished fourth in Most Improved Player voting. Advertisement Despite her impressive 2024 campaign, Carter did not land another WNBA job prior to the 2025 season. Now playing in Mexico, the 5-foot-9 guard is averaging 17.2 points and 4.8 assists in 11 contests for Adelitas de Chihuahua (via Asia-Basket). As Carter continues to prove her scoring ability at the professional level, many fans have been calling for her to get another opportunity in the WNBA. This includes Indiana Fever fans. While Carter is under contract in Mexico, making an in-season move to the WNBA impractical, that didn't stop fans from believing she'd be a fit alongside Caitlin Clark in Indiana. Advertisement "It was my immediate thought," said one. "I'm with it," said another. "I'd love this!" exclaimed one. "Her and CC would be 🔥," one added. "I'm down it would be an interesting story," another stated. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) and former Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter (7)Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Last season, Carter made headlines with a hard away from the play foul on Clark. Knocking Indiana's rookie to the ground, Carter then made comments on social media questioning what Clark brings to the game besides 3-point shooting (via Bleacher Report). This incident, along with Carter's history of behavioral issues, certainly makes her a polarizing player. That said, many Fever fans believe she can bring a scoring punch and toughness the team needs. As these calls have been mounting, Carter issued a message on X. Advertisement "championship in mexico loading," she wrote. "check back end of the month!" While it's unclear if she is directly addressing the calls for her to make a WNBA comeback, it is interesting timing and wording. Seemingly focused on winning a championship in Mexico, Carter urged her followers to check back in at the end of the month. Throughout Carter's professional career, she has been involved in multiple reported off-the-court issues. In 2023, the LA Times reported Carter had been released by the Los Angeles Sparks. The report stated Carter was "benched for poor conduct" prior to her release. She was also suspended by the Atlanta Dream for "conduct detrimental to the team" in her first WNBA stint.
