Sambhv Steel Tubes witnessed strong growth in its sales, particularly in pre-galvanised (GP) coils and pipes and stainless steel coils product category, highlighting continued progress in its strategic focus on high-value product offerings.
In April to June quarter (Q1FY26), the company's value-added products volume jumped 47 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) at 79,717 tons, against 54,267 tons in Q1FY25. Intermediate products rose 70 per cent to 12,989 tons from 7,641 tons in the previous year quarter.

L&T Q1 FY26 results: Profit grows 30% to ₹3,617 cr, surpasses estimates
Engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro's (L&T's) profit (attributable to owners of the company) for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025-26 (FY26) grew by 29.8 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to ₹3,617.2 crore, amid higher revenues. L&T's revenue from operations for Q1FY26 increased by 15.5 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹63,678.92 crore, amid healthy execution witnessed in its key projects and manufacturing portfolio. The profit beat the Bloomberg analysts' poll estimate of ₹3,400.5 crore. The revenue also topped the analysts' estimate of ₹62,831.9 crore. L&T's other income during the quarter went up by 47 per cent to ₹1,357 crore on a Y-o-Y basis. 'Fifteen per cent revenue growth and a 30 per cent profit after tax growth augur well for the profitable execution of the various business contracts that the company has entered into,' said R Shankar Raman, whole-time director and chief financial officer, L&T. The company's total expenses during the quarter grew by 15.2 per cent to ₹59,176.17 crore. S N Subrahmanyan, chairperson and managing director, L&T, said, 'This quarter we have performed well across all financial parameters. Besides improved performance on all profit-and-loss parameters, the return ratios have also moved higher. The projects and manufacturing businesses of the company continue to perform well.' L&T's consolidated order book stood at ₹6.12 trillion as of June 30, 2025, up 25 per cent Y-o-Y. The share of international orders remained at around 46 per cent. The company received new orders worth ₹94,453 crore during the quarter, up 33 per cent Y-o-Y, the highest ever in a Q1. International orders stood at ₹48,675 crore, accounting for 52 per cent of the total order inflow. The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) for the quarter under review stood at ₹6,318 crore, up 12.52 per cent Y-o-Y. Meanwhile, its Ebitda margin stood at 9.9 per cent, compared to the margin of 10.2 per cent in Q1 of 2024-25. The company's gross debt-to-equity ratio stood at 1.13x as of June 30, 2025, against the ratio of 1.12x as of June 30, 2024. Referring to geopolitical tensions, tariff-related events, and technology disruptions, Raman said, 'To navigate through these headwinds and stay the course has been an exciting challenge for all of us in the company, and we are extremely pleased that we ended on the right side of the line.' Global economic activity is expected to remain subdued with uneven momentum. Regional growth patterns have become more fragmented, as geopolitical and policy uncertainties reshape the economic outlook, L&T noted. 'Given the prevailing economic environment, the company remains focused on sustained execution of its large order book, scaling up the new businesses, and capitalising on the emerging opportunities,' the company added. Sequentially, the company's revenue dipped by 14.4 per cent, while its profit declined by 34.2 per cent. L&T's shares listed on the BSE closed at ₹3,495.10 per equity share on Tuesday (29 July).

Zee Media Q1 results: Loss narrows to ₹8.81 crore as revenue grows

Bank of India Q1 net profit rises 32.3% to ₹2,252 crore on treasury gains
The public sector lender Bank of India (BOI) reported a 32.3 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹2,252 crore for the April–June quarter (Q1FY26), aided by a surge in treasury income. The Mumbai-based lender's shares ended 0.58 per cent higher, closing at ₹112.15 per share on the BSE. Its Net Interest Income (NII) shrank by 3.3 per cent to ₹6,068 crore in Q1FY26, compared to ₹6,275 crore in the same quarter a year ago (Q1FY25). Net interest margin (NIM) declined by 52 basis points YoY to 2.55 per cent in Q1FY26 from 3.07 per cent in Q1FY25. R. Karnatak, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, BOI, said there will be some additional pressure on margins in the second quarter. The repricing of deposits, which began in October 2024, will be completed by October, providing a benefit for margins. He stated that margins have bottomed out but did not give estimates for NIM. The bank's non-interest income, comprising treasury, fees, commissions, etc., grew by 66.4 per cent YoY to ₹2,166 crore in Q1FY26. Profit from treasury activities, including the sale and revaluation of investments, grew almost four times to ₹820 crore in Q1FY26 from ₹166 crore a year ago. Provisions for non-performing assets (NPAs) declined to ₹1,104 crore in Q1FY26, down from ₹1,216 crore in Q1FY25. Advances grew 12.02 per cent YoY to ₹6.72 trillion in Q1FY26. Retail, agriculture, and MSME advances grew by 16.27 per cent YoY to ₹3.28 trillion in the June quarter of FY26. Karnatak said credit off-take was subdued in the first quarter, but performance is expected to improve in the remainder of the financial year. There is a sanctioned credit pipeline of ₹80,000 crore in corporate, retail, and agricultural loans. Credit is expected to grow by 12-13 per cent YoY in FY26, he added. Total deposits increased 9.07 per cent YoY to ₹8.33 trillion. The share of low-cost deposits—current accounts and savings accounts (CASA)—declined to 39.88 per cent at the end of June 2025, down from 42.68 per cent a year ago. The bank has guided for 10-11 per cent growth in deposits in FY26. The bank's asset quality improved, with gross NPAs declining to 2.92 per cent in June 2025 from 4.62 per cent in June 2024. Net NPAs also declined from 0.99 per cent in June 2024 to 0.75 per cent in June 2025. The provision coverage ratio (PCR), including written-off accounts, improved to 92.94 per cent in June 2025 from 92.11 per cent in June 2024. He said the resolution of loans from the stressed public sector undertaking (MTNL) is expected within three to six months. The bank's capital adequacy stood at 17.39 per cent, with Common Equity Tier-1 capital at 14.52 per cent at the end of June 2025. The bank has a comfortable equity capital base and currently has no plans for a fresh equity capital raise. However, the bank has board approval for debt capital of ₹5,000 crore, but there are no firm plans for capital raising at present.
