An 8-week-old brown puppy dumped outside a home has captured the hearts of thousands online—especially after she was spotted smiling through her ordeal.
Brooke Harris, 28, who lives in Dallas, Texas, shared the story on TikTok (@13rookeharris), where the video quickly gained traction, reaching over 203,000 views and thousands of likes.
"We were so upset that someone could do this to an innocent baby, but we were so relieved she happened to be placed in front of our homes," Harris told Newsweek.
Harris said that she and her neighbors first discovered the puppy after one of them noticed an unfamiliar truck parked outside and asked about it in their neighborhood WhatsApp group.
When the truck's owner—a neighbor's boyfriend—was identified, another neighbor responded by posting a photo of the puppy curled up in the bed of the truck.
Harris said the puppy had clearly been dumped, as there was no way she could have climbed in herself. A bowl of water had been left with her.

"She's literally smiling," Harris wrote as the text overlaying the video of the image of the pup looking like she was grinning.
Fortunately, the woman whose boyfriend owned the truck took the puppy into her home. Her boyfriend, who is a veterinarian, checked the pup over. She was covered in fleas and ticks, but he had the appropriate medication and bath products to treat her.
Harris and the other neighbors, all dog lovers, quickly came together to support the puppy. "Me and neighbor 1 have dogs, so we brought over a bed, food, bones, and toys to keep her happy until we figure out what to do with her," she said. "She is the sweetest little pup ever, so innocent and so happy to be around people. We really wanted to make the best decision on her rehoming."
After sharing the photo of the puppy in the truck bed on her Instagram story, a friend suggested Harris post it to TikTok to reach a wider audience. The response was overwhelming.
"The TikTok unexpectedly blew up, and I had about 10 to 15 people asking to adopt her," Harris said.
After considering several offers, Harris and her neighbors agreed to place the puppy with a woman who already had a female dog and a large backyard. She frequently takes her dog hiking and on trips, and the group felt confident she would give the puppy the loving home she deserved.
"Her new owner has been updating us with pictures, and she's settling in so great already and gets along with her new sister perfectly," Harris added.
Reflecting on the whirlwind of emotions the experience brought, Harris said: "How we felt about the whole situation was a mixture of mad, sad, and happy. We were so upset that someone could do this to an innocent baby, but we were so relieved she happened to be placed in front of our homes.
"The three of us are big animal lovers, and it just worked out perfectly. Now this pup gets a second shot at life. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to do something good for the world," Harris added.
TikTok users flooded the comments with gratitude and heartbreak. "Thank you for helping this sweet baby!" one user wrote.
"I hope she went to a good home," said another.
"How could they hurt this baby angel please lord God help this baby angel," commented one viewer.
"She smiled at you, why didn't you just say 'stay' you even took the picture," another user posted.
"Some Humans are not humane. Thank you for helping," added Moe.

Elon Musk's Ties to Jeffrey Epstein Explained
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Elon Musk accused Donald Trump's administration of withholding the Epstein files because the president allegedly is named in the files after their feud escalated this week. Musk, like Trump and other wealthy individuals in the business community, also had some ties to the well-connected financier. Newsweek reached out to Musk for comment via Tesla's press email. Why It Matters Trump indicated on the campaign trail he could release the documents related to Epstein, who was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking and died by suicide in a New York federal jail a month later while awaiting trial. Epstein's former girlfriend and associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced in 2022 for aiding Epstein in the trafficking of minors and is serving a 20-year prison sentence. However, the release of these files has been limited so far, leading to some criticism. Musk alleged the reason for the slow release is because Trump is allegedly in the files himself. While Trump is mentioned in some of the previously released court documents on Epstein, he has not been accused of wrongdoing. What Did Elon Musk Say About the Epstein Files? Musk made his accusation in a post to X Thursday afternoon, writing, "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" Elon Musk attends a House Republicans Conference in Washington, D.C. on November 13, 2024. Allison Robbert-Pool/Getty Images He did not provide more context about how Trump's name is allegedly in the files, nor did he post evidence to back up that claim. Elon Musk's Ties to Jeffrey Epstein: What We Know Musk had some ties to Epstein, but he has never been implicated in any crimes or accused of wrongdoing. Musk confirmed in 2019 remarks to Vanity Fair that he once visited Epstein's New York City residence. "Several years ago, I was at his house in Manhattan for about 30 minutes in the middle of the afternoon with Talulah [Riley], as she was curious about meeting this strange person for a novel she was writing," he told the publication. "We did not see anything inappropriate at all, apart from weird art. He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island. I declined." Talulah Riley, Musk's ex-wife, also shared that account in a 2020 post to X. She wrote it was "possible I was briefly introduced to [Maxwell], but not in any way that I can remember." "Elon and I met thousands of people over the course of our relationship. There will be countless photos of Elon with people he doesn't know/happened to be stood next to at a party," she wrote. Musk has also dismissed a widely-circulated photograph of him with Maxwell at a March 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars party as a "photobomb." There are no other public photographs of the two. "Don't know Ghislaine at all. She photobombed me once at a Vanity Fair party several years ago. Real question is why VF invited her in the first place," he wrote in a 2020 post to X. In 2019, a Musk spokesperson denied rumors that Epstein had advised Musk after he announced plans to take Tesla private. His spokesperson told the newspaper, "It is incorrect to say that Epstein ever advised Elon on anything." What People Are Saying Trump wrote on Truth Social: "I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago. This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It's a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given. If this Bill doesn't pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn't create this mess, I'm just here to FIX IT. This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Elon Musk's father Errol Musk told Al Arabiya: "I did send him a him, make sure this fizzles out." White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Newsweek on Thursday: "This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted. The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again." What Happens Next The fallout between Trump and Musk remains unresolved as of Friday afternoon, though the feud has become quiet since Thursday. Many are speculating about what could happen next, but it's unclear when they may meet again to try to reconcile.

Emily Kiser Wasn't Present When Son Trigg Drowned: Report
A major update on influencer Emily Kiser has emerged in the wake of her son's drowning death. What exactly happened in the moments before Trigg Kiser died has not been detailed publicly, and Kiser is trying to keep it that way in court. However, People magazine has now revealed that Kiser was not home when her son drowned. That's a major new detail. On June 5, a source told People that "Kiser was not home at the time of Trigg's drowning." It's not clear who was watching the boy. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Trigg's death, saying it occurred on May 18, 2025. Emilie Kiser has 3.4 million followers on TikTok. Her page is heavily focused on her family and two kids. The public information officer for Chandler, AZ, police told USA Today that Trigg Kiser died "after being pulled from a backyard pool days earlier." The police told USA Today they "responded to a drowning call at a home on Ashley Drive in Chandler, Arizona, around 7 p.m. local time for a child who had been pulled unconscious out of a backyard pool." That incident occurred on May 12. According to People, Kiser has filed a lawsuit seeking to keep records and videos sealed in the case, and she filed a declaration that outlined her "grief and trauma." Her lawyer wrote in a filing that Kiser and her family "desperately want to grieve in private, but sadly, the public will not let them." The source told People that Kiser wants a court to keep the records sealed so she does not have to "relive the aftermath through viral" videos. A source told Us Weekly that Kiser's quest for privacy is because she wants to keep the 'most traumatic moment of her life' from public view. She has won at least a temporary reprieve. A judge granted her "temporary confidentiality on her request for privacy," Us Weekly reported, 'until a determination is made that balances the public's need for information vs privacy interests.'Emily Kiser Wasn't Present When Son Trigg Drowned: Report first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 6, 2025

Woman Gives Dogsitter 'Strict Instructions'—Shock at What She Comes Home To
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. A pet parent who left specific instructions to her roommate couldn't believe the disaster she saw when she returned home. Dog owner Zoie Roemer asked her roommate to let her dogs out one day. The text on her TikTok video, posted to the account @user0162513, said she had given "strict instructions" to leave the puppy in the crate. However, a quick mistake led to a giant mess. When she returned home, Roemer discovered that neither doggy crate was latched. This means her 5-month-old Australian shepherd had free reign of the house. He managed to get into every knook and cranny, shredding the room into pieces. Her clothes were thrown around the room. Items were knocked off shelves. Meanwhile, her pup looked at her as if he had no idea how it happened. Roemer quickly defended her pup and roommate, writing in the caption that it was the first and only time he's done this: "He's only 5 MONTHS OLD, of course, he won't be perfect." Usually, he only goes onto her bed or back into his crate, but this proved his disobedient side. She wrote: "I do not blame the dog or my roommate. It's an honest mistake, but it's fair that she learned her lesson. @user0162513 NOT MY CREATINE AND FLOWERS . . . . . . STORY: My roommate came and let my other dog out and didn't latch either crate door, allowing my 5 MONTH OLD aussie to roam my room. Typically he usually just goes on my bed or back into his crate. -This WAS A FIRST AND ONLY time he has done this. -My dog does dock diving and agility multiple times a week, has 1000 puzzles and gets a minimum of 2-3 hours of exercise daily. He is my training buddy. -He loves his crate and will forever have the option to use it. It is his safe space -He is only 5 MONTHS OLD, of course he won't be perfect. -I do not blame the dog or my roommate. It's an honest mistake but it's fair she learned her lesson. -AS HIS OWNER, It is my responsibility to clean up and take care of the bills, as he is MY DOG. -Yall need to stop pointing fingers also if you made it this far and you like dogs, lifestyle and lifting, go follow my main @zo_liftz and this acct #crashout #aussie #australianshepherd #baddog #badroommate #adoptme ♬ QKThr - Aphex Twin Newsweek reached out to @user0162513 via TikTok for comment. With over 3.2 million views on TikTok as of Friday, users were not as quick to forgive the roommate. One commenter wrote: "Nah, you better be sending them the bill," while a second person commented: "Whoever didn't put him in the crate is cleaning that." Another suggested she get a puppy camera to check on him while she's out, which she has, but unfortunately, it got unplugged during his path of destruction. Many believed the cause of this dog's behavior was a lack of exercise. Puppies generally require more exercise than older dogs, according to the American Kennel Club. However, that depends on a dog's breed. Given that this owner's dog is an Aussie, these dogs are especially active. She assured viewers that she already provides him with extra stimulation. From dock diving and agility training to puzzles and daily walks, he gets about two to three hours of exercise every day.
