KFSHRC Command Center at the Core of Digital Transformation and Care Excellence - Middle East Business News and Information

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) has advanced healthcare efficiency through its Capacity Command Center, a strategic pillar in the hospital's digital transformation journey. The Center has significantly optimized hospital-wide performance while delivering more responsive, patient-centered care. Established to modernize operations and elevate care, the Center provides real-time visibility across the patient journey—from admission to discharge—powered by a locally developed color-coded alert system that flags bottlenecks and enables timely intervention. This has improved operational efficiency and patient experience by streamlining admissions, discharges, and transfers, resulting in faster recovery, better resource use, and smoother clinical handovers. Building on this foundation, the Center leverages AI and big data to forecast patient volumes, identify pressure points, and guide precise resource allocation. These capabilities are reinforced by ongoing technical reporting, data mining, and performance reviews that translate insights into continuous institutional improvement. These innovations have led to a 14% reduction in average length of stay (ALOS) and a 19% drop in emergency department congestion, boosting patient recovery, bed availability, and patient safety. In parallel, overall hospital activity grew, with new patient admissions increasing by 10.3% to 46,476 in 2024, reflecting enhanced throughput and capacity management. Central to KFSHRC's transformation agenda, the Command Center exemplifies how AI and real-time analytics enable predictive, evidence-based decisions, advancing its mission to deliver high-quality, specialized care through a scalable intelligent healthcare model. It is noteworthy that KFSHRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 15th globally in the list of the world's top 250 Academic Medical Centers for the third consecutive year and recognised as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, it was included in the World's Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek magazine.

KFSHRC Pioneering Clinical Trials and Gene Therapy Across the Region - Middle East Business News and Information

As part of Saudi Arabia's broader biotechnology transformation under Vision 2030, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) solidified its role as the Kingdom's leading Clinical Trials hub in 2024 — conducting 52.4% of all active Clinical Trials nationwide, according to the Saudi National Institute of Health. This milestone reflects the sustained success of KFSHRC's Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, launched in 2021 to build an integrated, patient-centered research ecosystem. By the end of 2024, the hospital had recorded 701 active research proposals, representing an 8% increase over the previous year. In Riyadh alone, research approvals rose by 20%, demonstrating growing alignment between scientific discovery and clinical care delivery. KFSHRC's research growth was matched by key innovation milestones. In 2024, it became the first in Saudi Arabia to locally produce CAR-T cells — a major step toward national self-sufficiency in advanced therapies. It also delivered a breakthrough in hemophilia care, using one-time gene therapy to restore clotting function in eight patients, eliminating preventive treatment and significantly improving quality of life. These advancements align closely with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and National Biotechnology Strategy, which designate biotechnology as a national priority sector — aiming to localize therapeutic development, accelerate innovation, and establish global leadership by 2040. Complementing its scientific leadership, KFSHRC has also invested in public engagement, launching awareness campaigns in high-traffic public venues to promote Clinical Trials literacy and reduce misconceptions around participation. It is noteworthy that KFSHRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 15th globally among the world's top 250 Academic Medical Centres for the third consecutive year, and recognised as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, it was included in the World's Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek magazine.

Jessie J Reveals Early Breast Cancer Diagnosis: "I Am Going to Disappear for a Bit"

Yara Sameh British singer-songwriter Jessica Ellen Cornish, aka Jessie J, has revealed that she had been recently diagnosed with 'early breast cancer.' The musician shared the health update on Instagram on Tuesday, telling her followers that the diagnosis came shortly before the release of her track 'No Secrets' in April. 'Before 'No Secrets' came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she said. 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' As she continued, she revealed that she has been 'in and out of tests' since the release of the track and wanted to share the video in an attempt to be 'open' about her journey with her supporters. 'I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough,' she added. 'I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse.' She continued, 'I'm getting to keep my nipples, that's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation. And I know the press are going to say crazy stuff but you know what, to get diagnosed with this as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can't make it up.' In closing her video to fans, Jessie J explained that she will 'disappear for a bit' to undergo surgery following her performance at the Summertime Ball in England on June 15. Celebrity friends and fans online were quick to extend their get-well-soon wishes to Jessie. "You're literally my favorite person and I'm praying for you. You've got this. My mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter is mentally tough so I'm here for you," Rita Ora commented. "Open book and open heart, we love you and support you always, sending you the best energy for a soon recovery ❤️ warrior," one fan wrote. Jessie J's decision to be open and honest with her health journey aligns with her comments from July, in which she revealed a recent diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive behavior (OCD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD). 'It's empowered me and honestly sometimes has overwhelmed me all at the same time,' she explained, noting that the information had made her think about her life in a whole new way. 'If there is one thing social media has given me, it's the chance to relate, connect, and heal with strangers that have kind hearts and are going through a similar thing. I have always been honest in the journey I'm going through in life.'
