Shailene Woodley Joins Lindsay Lohan in Limited Series "Count My Lies"

Yara Sameh Hulu is moving forward with a limited TV adaptation of "Count My Lies", starring Lindsay Lohan, with Shailene Woodley set to join her. Hulu has ordered "Count My Lies," a limited series starring Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley. The project, based on the recently published novel by Sophie Stava, was set up for development at Hulu this spring with Lohan attached. She has now been joined by Woodley, with both set to executive produce in addition to starring in the series, produced by 20th Television where former This Is Us executive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and their The Walk-Up Company are under an overall deal. In "Count My Lies," when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart, it seems she's finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she's just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all. Aptaker and Berger will write, executive produce via The Walk-Up Company and serve as showrunners. Also executive producing are Lohan, Woodley and Scott Morgan of The Walk-Up Company. Stava is a producer. 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, is the studio. This marks the first TV series starring role for Lohan who has a long history at Disney. Her first five movies — theatrical and TV ones — were all at the company: "The Parent Trap" (1998), "Life-Size" (2000), "Get a Clue" (2002), "Freaky Friday (2003), and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" (2004). Her biggest American TV series role prior to "Count My Lies" was also at Disney, a four-episode arc on "Ugly Betty," produced by ABC Studios, now part of 20th Television. Lohan recently returned to the Walt Disney Studios for the Freakier Friday sequel, which was released last week. She also recently starred in the Netflix 2025 holiday movie "Our Little Secret." This marks Woodley's second current series on Hulu and 20th TV. She has a buzzy major recurring role on the upcoming second season of "Paradise," the thriller drama from This Is Us creator/executive producer Dan Fogelman with whom Aptaker and Berger worked on the acclaimed family drama's six-season NBC run. Known for her roles in "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," "Big Little Lies, the Divergent franchise and "The Fault In Our Stars," Woodley was recently seen starring in the Starz limited series "Three Women," the Amazon MGM film "Killer Heat" and making her Broadway debut in Leslye Headland's "Cult Of Love." Upcoming, she also co-stars in Potsy Ponciroli's film "Motor City," an official selection of the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals. . "Count My Lies" is Stava's debut novel.
