on Sunday presented a cohesive message to the international community, showcasing India's collective commitment to addressing terrorism and security concerns.
By involving members from different parties, the delegation highlighted national consensus on key issues, strengthening India's position globally.
Underlining the delegation's united front, Supriya Sule said, "For us, the country comes first, state second, party third and then our family. We come here as a team of all parties. For me, ours is a heavyweight delegation, as most have served as ministers in important departments..."

Notably, Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a US-designated global terrorist and high-level Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, led funeral prayers for those who died in the Indian missile strikes. Rauf has been implicated in facilitating LeT's operations, which include high-profile attacks such as the 2008 Mumbai terror attack that killed 166 people. The U.S. Department of the Treasury designated Rauf as a global terrorist in 2010 under Executive Order 13224 for his role in LeT's financial and logistical networks.

"It is an ancient culture of centuries that we do not attack any country, but we gave the attackers a befitting reply. Our army fought back strongly this time too; they targeted only the terrorist organisations," Sharma said.
Congress MP Manish Tiwari warned Pakistan of consequences if it continues supporting terrorism. "If they do not stop promoting terrorism, then India's response will be very aggressive," he said.
Earlier, the delegation met Tagesse Chaffo, Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia, and members of the House. They also delivered remarks on Operation Sindoor and India's united stance against terrorism.
The Supriya Sule-led delegation includes Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Singh Sahney (AAP), Manish Tewari (Congress), Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Anand Sharma (Congress), V Muraleedharan (BJP), and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin. Seven such all-party delegations are currently participating in outreach programmes in different countries.

PM to meet council of ministers on June 4
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the council of ministers on June 4, days ahead of the first anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government's third term in office on June 9, people aware of the matter said. Punjab cabinet clears ‘voluntary' land pooling policy for 27 cities
Chandigarh: Amid criticism by opposition parties and some farmer groups, the Punjab cabinet on Monday approved a new land pooling policy aimed at curbing illegal colonies and the land mafia, while ensuring direct profit for farmers. Minister Aman Arora assured that not even "one square yard of land will be forcibly acquired" and the "participation would be entirely voluntary". T he scheme will initially be rolled out in 27 cities in the state. Slamming the opposition parties for allegedly misleading people about the policy, Arora said, "Attempts have been made to confuse landowners, but it's the best one drafted anywhere in the country. Farmers will have the freedom to decide whether to hand over their land to the state or a builder, or to develop it themselves. Unlike previous governments that banned the sale and purchase of notified land—often to benefit the land mafia and political leaders—those restrictions have now been removed. " Additionally, the policy offers compensation of Rs 30,000 per acre annually during the three-year development phase, with the govt aiming to complete the process within 1 to 1.5 years, wherever feasible. The minister further said that a written consent (NOC) will be taken from farmers, and land will be given directly to the govt, not to private developers. Govt will fully develop the land and return plots to farmers and these will include all facilities like roads, electricity and water connections, sewerage pipes, streetlights, and parks. No private developers or land mafia can exploit farmers as the policy ensures that farmers are protected from exploitation by private players," he said. An official spokesperson added that the value of these plots will be up to four times the market rate. Each farmer will receive a written document from the govt, and this letter will clearly mention the farmer's full entitlement. Meanwhile, farmers in Ludhiana have been protesting against the plan to acquire over 24,000 acres of fertile agricultural land across 44 villages in their district, labelling the move a "land grab in disguise." CONDITIONAL PARTIAL SURRENDER The cabinet also approved the partial surrender and partial cancellation of licences issued to colonies under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (PAPRA), 1995, as well as the partial cancellation of approvals granted to industrial park projects. A policy was notified on March 10, 2025, concerning the surrender of licences for developing colonies under the PAPRA Act and approvals for industrial parks, said the spokesperson. LUMP-SUM PAYMENTS To encourage allottees and bidders of residential, commercial, and other property plots to make lump-sum payments of 75% of the total amount, the cabinet approved a series of incentives. A 15% discount on the cost of the plot/site will be offered to allottees who make a lump sum payment. CABINET HIKES EDC, CLU CHARGES To further facilitate the state's holistic development and boost revenue generation, the cabinet approved an increase in External Development Charges (EDC), change of land use charges (CLU), licence fees (LF), and other charges applicable to real estate promoters. The last revision of these charges was notified on May 6, 2016, with a provision to increase the rates by 10% annually starting April 1. However, the govt waived the annual hike for several years. The charges have been increased from April 1, 2020, and have gone up by approximately 77% since 2016. EXISTING LAND POOLING FOR ONLY MOHALI Arora said the existing land pooling scheme was meant for only Mohali, which resulted in mushrooming of unauthorised colonies. "This policy is for the entire state… Now farmers will be given land to develop group housing. Besides, for land more than 50 acres, the landowners can develop their own colonies," he said.

BJP sees opportunity to wrest Mukhtar family's traditional Mau seat in bypoll
Lucknow: The disqualification of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA Abbas Ansari from Mau Sadar assembly seat following his conviction in a hate speech case has necessitated byelection on the seat. All eyes are now on the BJP-led NDA which sees a chance to wrest the constituency which has been a stronghold of late gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari and his family for nearly two decades. Mukhtar's son Abbas Ansari won the seat in 2022 on SBSP ticket, which was then an ally of the Samajwadi Party. Now, SBSP is BJP's ally. Abbas had defeated BJP's Ashok Singh by 48,000 votes. The Mau Sadar seat was represented by Mukhtar since 1996 – twice on a BSP ticket (1996 and 2017), twice as an independent (2002 and 2007), and once as a Quami Ekta Dal candidate in 2012. Mukhtar died following a cardiac arrest while being lodged in Banda jail in Mar 2024. Party sources said BJP's organisational machinery has hit the ground running in the Muslim-dominated constituency. Sources said the party plans to build a groundswell on the lines of Muslim-dominated Rampur and Kundarki assembly seats, which the BJP won in byelections in 2022 and 2024, respectively. UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary said the party is working among the people in the district. "We will intensify the groundwork in the coming days," he said, adding that the party's central leadership would decide the candidate after due consultation. "The byelection on Mau would be contested by the NDA. Whether it would be BJP or SBSP will be decided in due course," he said. SBSP, too, has staked its claim to contest from the seat. SBSP president and UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said his party, which has been a strong contender in Mau Sadar, would seek to contest the byelection with BJP's support. Rajbhar emphasised that the SBSP was the runner-up in 2017 and won the seat in 2022, highlighting the party's growing influence in the region. A senior BJP functionary, however, said the party gave a fair chance to the SBSP by allowing it to contest the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat in 2024 which includes the Mau Sadar segment. The move, however, did not yield the desired results as Congress-backed SP candidate Rajeev Rai defeated Rajbhar's son Arvind by a significant margin of over 1.6 lakh votes. Experts said the BJP wants to capitalise on Mukhtar Ansari family's legal troubles besides highlighting the clean governance of the Yogi govt. Analysts say the disqualification of Abbas Ansari and Mukhtar's absence have significantly weakened the family's political influence in the seat. At present, Mukhtar's brother, Afzal Ansari, is Ghazipur MP on an SP ticket while his elder brother Sibghatullah's son Suhaib Ansari is MLA from Mohamadabad. However, Afzal Ansari too faces multiple criminal cases, further jeopardising the family's political future.
