Google Pixel Watch 4 colors and sizes leak

Google is rumored to be unveiling the Pixel 10 family alongside the Pixel Watch 4 on August 20, and today a new leak purportedly brings us the sizes and colors for the company's next smartwatch. The Pixel Watch 4 is said to come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, both with and without 4G LTE connectivity. The colorways will be called Obsidian, Lemon, Moonstone, Iris, and Porcelain. Obsidian should be black, Porcelain white, Iris purple, while we assume Lemon will be yellow-ish. Google will also offer a two-tone leather band in Jade, an Active Band in Iris, Lemongrass, and Moonstone, an Active Sport Band in Indigo, Lemongrass, Moonstone, and Peony, a Crafted Leather Band in Moonstone, a Metal Mesh Band in Matte Black and Polished Silver, a Performance Loop Band in Moonstone, a Woven Band in Indigo, as well as Gradient Stretch Bands in Lemongrass/Frost, Moonstone, Obsidian/Hazel, and Peony/Iris. The Pixel Watch 4 is expected to look exactly like its predecessor from last year, but will be thicker at 14.3mm, with smaller bezels. It also has two new buttons on both sides of the speaker, according to a past leak. Google Pixel Watch 3 Source | Image source

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE battery ratings posted, retailer listing confirms key specs

We already came across the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7's EPREL label yesterday which confirmed its battery endurance, alongside key info on durability, repairability and ingress protection. We now have the same details for the Galaxy Z Flip7 which unsurprisingly shares identical scores in terms of overall energy efficiency (B), durability (A) and repairability (C) while also boasting an IP48 ingress protection rating. Flip7 does get a higher expected battery life on a single charge – at 42 hours and 4 minutes. Galaxy Z Flip7 EPREL label and detailed listing The detailed listing shows that Flip7 features a 4,174mAh rated battery capacity which should be marketed as 4,300mAh. The same set of details is also available for the Z Flip7 FE, which is certified with a rated battery capacity of 3,887mAh. That will likely be marketed as 4,000mAh. Galaxy Z Flip7 FE's EPREL listing Galaxy Z Fold7 is also seen and features a 4,272mAh rated capacity which will most likely be marketed as 4,400mAh. Galaxy Z Fold7's EPREL listing In related news, Z Flip7 also appeared in an early listing on a Romanian retailer's website. We can see the device in its three official colors - Jet Black, Blue Shadow and Coral Red. Galaxy Z Flip7 listing The listing also contains some key specs which confirm the device's 6.9-inch main screen and a 4.1-inch cover screen as well as its Exynos 2500 chipset and 4,300mAh battery capacity. We also get a pricing of RON 3,059 (€604) for the 12/256GB trim, which seems a bit too low so it's most likely incorrect. Source (in Romanian)| Via 1 • Via 2 (in Romanian)

Sony is forced to stop selling the Xperia 1 VII because of worrying issues

Sony has announced it's temporarily suspending the sales and shipments of the Xperia 1 VII in Japan. That's the company's latest flagship smartphone, which was announced in May, and it has been on sale in Sony's home country and some European markets only for about a month. Sony says (translated source) the reason for the suspension are multiple reports for Xperia 1 VII units that are turning off on their own, rebooting sporadically, or failing to turn on entirely. None of those issues sounds like a big deal on its own, but it appears that they're affecting a significant number of devices in the wild. The sales and shipments suspension is limited only to the Japanese market, and there is no official information if similar issues are happening with devices sold in other regions. The Xperia 1 VII is not available in the United States, and considering its predecessor was never sold there, a US release remains unlikely. For anyone who owns an Xperia 1 VII with some of the issues, Sony has a potential remedy. The company suggests the following steps: Hold down the power and volume up buttons for about 20 seconds Recover the device Apply the latest available software update On its Japanese support page, Sony has given detailed instructions for the update process for the affected models. If those steps don't resolve the problem, Sony's advice is to contact its customer service center. Sony Xperia 1 VII | Image credit — PhoneArena Interestingly, Sony's advice suggests that the issues could be fixed with only a software update, but the company still says that it is currently investigating the cause of the problems. The announcement states that the company will provide more information once it is available, and recommends that people back up their data.I think Sony doesn't really know what's causing the Xperia 1 VII to experience these types of issues, and the software update is more of a precaution. The best option for the owners of the faulty units and Sony would be if everything could be solved with only an update. However, there's also a chance that all this is caused by hardware problems, which could be the final nail in Sony's coffin. The Xperia 1 VII is already more expensive and less compelling than virtually all its competitors, so a major hardware issue and sales suspension could prove critical for Sony's mobile ambitions.
