Liam Payne revealed to have left behind fortune of over €28m
Cheryl Tweedy, his former partner and mother of his son Bear, is an administrator for his estate, meaning she is legally responsible for his money, property and possessions.
Singer Payne died at the age of 31 in October last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Court documents show that music industry lawyer Richard Mark Bray has also been given administrator duties.
Former Girls Aloud singer Tweedy, 41, could place the fortune in trust for Bear as UK rules of intestacy state that a person's spouse and then any children they have are first claim to the estate.
The gross value of the estate amounts to €33.5m according to the Letters of Administration, while the net value, which is the total after debts and expenses are paid, amounts to close to €29m.
A post-mortem examination report said Payne died of multiple traumas and 'internal and external haemorrhage' after falling from a third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.
A court in Argentina dropped charges in February of criminal negligence against three out of the five people who had been charged in connection with Payne's death.
At the Brit Awards in March he was remembered with a video montage which showed him with his family and a clip from his time on The X Factor and then with One Direction, who won seven gongs at the music awards before they split up.
After his band went on hiatus Payne released his debut solo album LP1 in December 2019, which included the songs Polaroid with Lennon Stella and Jonas Blue, and Strip That Down featuring Quavo, as well as the track For You with Rita Ora.
Tweedy was in a high-profile relationship with Payne between 2016 and 2018.
Before he found success in One Direction, Payne auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 when Tweedy was a judge.

"I'm so comfortable now to just be in no make-up, have my hair up." Lottie's mother Johannah died from leukaemia after she was diagnosed in 2016 when Lottie was just 18 years old. Lottie Tomlinson career timeline 2015 : Lottie worked as a stylist and make-up artist for her older brother Louis and his band One Direction during their On The Road Again Tour. 2016: Lottie became an ambassador for Nails Inc. and debuted a collaborative collection with the beauty brand. Lottie claimed her mum hid how ill she was to 'protect' her children and when she did die, it was a complete 'shock' to the family. She added: 'Looking back, she probably sugarcoated the situation because she wanted to protect us, which I understand. 'But then, when it came down to it, the last few weeks, that's kind of the only time we kind of started to realise that she wasn't going to be okay. Towards the end of the pregnancy, with the weight gain and the swelling, my face and my lips, everything had just blown up Lottie Tomlinson 'And so to lose her... it felt sudden. We had so much hope that she was going to be okay. And I think you've got to hold on to hope when someone's ill. 'And she was so strong, she didn't want anyone to know she was ill. She said she was going to fight it, and it was going to be okay. 'And so we'd take her word for that. And she'd always been right about things. 12 Lottie's mum Johannah Deakin passed away from cancer in 2016 Credit: Instagram 12 The family also lost sister Fizzy, aged 19, just years after their mother's death Credit: Instagram 12 Now, Lottie is comfortable to be in no make-up with her hair up Credit: Instagram 'So yeah, to lose her that suddenly was such a shock. And it's like the centre of everything is gone. 'It's like everything else falls apart and I feel like we've spent the last few years since it all happened, just trying to rebuild that. 'And 'I think we're getting there. We're rebuilding everything. And it's just sad that she's not here with us.'
