Alycia Debnam-Carey Joins "Godzilla X Kong" Sequel
Yara Sameh
Australian actress Alycia Debnam-Carey (Apple Cider Vinegar) is the latest addition to the cast of the new Monsterverse movie from Legendary.
The untitled sequel also stars Jack O'Connell, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, and Dan Stevens, who reprises his role as veterinarian Trapper Beasley from last year's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.
Grant Sputore (I Am Mother) is directing from a script by Shang-Chi's Dave Callaham. Sputore took over the directorial reins from Adam Wingard following his work on The New Empire and Godzilla vs. Kong.
While plot specifics are fuzzy, the film features several new human characters alongside Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.
Launched with Godzilla in 2014, Legendary's Monsterverse franchise also includes Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as well as Netflix's animated spin-off Skull Island and the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The films, released by Warners, have collectively grossed over $2.5B worldwide.
The project reunites Debnam-Carey with Kaitlyn Dever, with whom she just starred in the hit Netflix series "Apple Cider Vinegar".
In addition, Debnam-Carey has recently been seen in "It's What's Inside", the high-concept horror comedy that Netflix acquired out of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, in the splashiest deal of that year. Prior to that, she starred in all eight seasons of AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" and on shows like "The 100" and "The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart", among others.

New Wonder Woman Movie in Works, Says James Gunn
Yara Sameh Diana Prince is returning to the big screen. A new feature film about DC superhero Wonder Woman is 'being written right now,' DC Studios co-chief James Gunn said in an interview with EW . The movie would be in addition to an HBO series about Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira, which Gunn says is 'slow moving, but it's moving.' The film would be a fresh start for the character, who was played on the big screen by Gal Gadot in 2017's 'Wonder Woman' and 'Justice League,' 2020's 'Wonder Woman 1984,' 2021's 'Zack Snyder's Justice League,' and in a cameo in 2023's 'The Flash.' With Gunn and co-chief Peter Safran are planning to reboot the DC Universe that means Gadot will not play the character moving forward. A prospective Wonder Woman movie is one of several in development at the studio, which has only greenlit a small handful of movies to date. The first, 'Superman,' opens in July, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and written and directed by Gunn. The second, 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,' opens in June 2026, starring Milly Alcock and directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira. The third, 'Clayface' — a horror film about the titular Batman villain — is set to open in September 2026, and will be directed by James Watkins ('The Woman in Black') from a script by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. And the fourth, 'Dynamic Duo' — an animated feature about Batman's Robin sidekicks Dick Grayson and Jason Todd — is tentatively set for June 2028. In his interview with EW, Gunn also confirmed he's planning another movie about Superman. 'But is it a straight-up Superman sequel?' he said. 'I would not say necessarily.' Gunn was even more coy about his larger plans for the first wave of DCU projects — which also includes TV shows 'Peacemaker,' 'Lanterns' and 'Creature Commandos.' But when asked if those plans would relate to the Justice League, Gunn offered a one-word tease: 'Sure.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
